Chapter Text

Until....

Age 24 Job: Lawyer Bakersfield, California

Noelle was walking back from work, tired and just wanting to sleep.

*Bumps into someone and they drop something*

"Oh god, I'm so sorry" Noelle apologized while the other person pick up their thing

"Eh its fine, really. *They look up and look surprised*
Ain't that right, Frenchman?" Akarsha smirked.

Noelle was stunned for a second, and then eureka.

"Akarsha?!?"

"Bingo, 20 points"

"Well its uhh been a while."

"Yes, it has been a while" They awkwardly exchange words.

"Uhh so where are you going?" Akarsha asked.

"Well umm I'm just going home, been a long day of work.... uhh you?"

"Oh I'm just going to a date" Its been a while but Noelle's heart still stung all the same.

"Oh uhh, you still dating with what was his name ummm Tom?"

"Uhm no we uhh broke up very shortly after highschool"

" Oh sorry"

"Nah its nothing, its been awhile. I'm now going on a first date with another guy." *Phone ding*

*Picks up and see* "Who has just ditched me, so alright I have no plans"

"Oh, well uhh, wanna go drink at a bar and catch up?" Noelle asked as a long shot.

"Yeah sure, i ain't got anything better to do" Akarsha answered with no hesitation.

They start walking to a bar, Noelle leading the way.

Upon arriving at a pretty standard bar. With a couple dozen people. They take a seat on the stools near the countertop.

After ordering a round of light beer. They start catching up.

"So, hows life, i guess" Akarsha started.

"It's going pretty okay, I got a well paying job, though I haven't been in the dating scene much, or at all..... it's been tough, i guess I'd describe it as lonely, and i,
i have friends right? I do, I do, though they never hang out after work. Do i have friends, OH umm nevermind uhh , how about you"

Noelle went on a sorta mid life crisis halfway into the conversation.

"Well uhh i am just a barista. I just came out of a long term relationship, so that's..... something. Ever since that I haven't been close to people, umm I don't really have any friends. Uhmm yeah"

Both of them talking about it, realized how lonely they both were.

"Well I'm gonna need stronger drinks than this"
Noelle went off and got a couple Roulette shots.

"Woah you going hardcore roulette?"

"Yeah why not, tomorrows a Saturday, if we get dead drunk we'll be fine"

1 shot
Then 2 then 3
And 4 5 6 7 8
And 9

Noelle got some pretty hard shots so shes mumbling through words dead drunk.

Akarsha got some lighter stuff so she was still able to coherently say things, though she's getting dizzy.

Though seeing Noelle, shes gonna call it a night.

"C'mon Frenchman, lets go, you're already dead."

"Noooo i can still drink, I don't wanna leave yet"

"Did living without me for that long make you a drunkyard?" Akarsha mocked.

"No... but i wanna live with you"

Akarsha found the implications funny but chalked it up as her being very drunk.

Akarsha went get the bills, it was very expensive. She grit her teeth and paid for it, she'll bill Noelle later.

"Alright Noelle, I don't think you can make it home like this, so where do you live."

"2 blocks rhightt."

"Wheres right?"

"I mean, right is right, right?"

"Alright, just tell me the name"

"West leston Apartment, 2nd fwoor"

"Wait you live in West Leston? I live there too, we've never bumped each other?"

"Thass coool"

"Alright, well its close so we can walk"

Akarsha carried the very intoxicated Noelle to their apartment. Noelle kept mumbling things, but it didn't bother Akarsha.

They arrived, " Alright whats the room number"

"36"

"Security card?"

"Back pocket lefty"

Akarsha got in and put Noelle on her bed and gave her some aspirin.

"Well it was nice seeing you, I should get going then, bye bye" Akarsha started to leave.

"Waittt" Noelle called out.

Akarsha turned around "Hmm?"

"Can we talk abit"

"I guess I can stay over abit late. What did you want to talk about."

"I just wanna say I'm very sorry, I'm so so sorry"

"What? Tonights been fun, you just got unlucky with roulette is all-"

"No, I'm not sorry for that."

Akarsha looked confused. "Then what are you apolizing for"

"All those years ago, Akarsha. All those years ago, I... I lied"

"What... are you talking about."

"YOUR CONFESSION AKARSHA , I.... didn't deserve it. I lied, i lied i... lied."

"What are you talking about, you need to start making sense."

"Akarsha, I'm just so sorry. When you confessed, and asked if i liked you. I liked you, i really liked you. *Sobs* But I couldn't say it.... If I wasn't such a fucking idiot. I shouldn't have rejected you, I shouldn't have care about any other opinions on Gay love. I... I *Sobs heavily* I should've made my own decision. But I didn't, I'm so fucking stupid, STUPID. Why, why was i so stupid-"

Akarsha embraced Noelle, firmly. Noelle was crying uncontrollably for a while. She slowly calmed down, until she could say things again, after the tears she also seemed to have sobered up.

"Akarsha, I don't deserve this" Noelle still with tears in her eyes.

"Yes you do, why do you think I'm doing this."

Akarsha continues to embrace firmly.

"I don't deserve it, I am a selfish idiot, You deserve way better, Akarsha...."

"You're contradicting yourself right now. If you think i deserve better then why are you letting me go, thats not called selfish is it?"

Noelle was stunned by Akarsha's charms. Through the years, she'd gotten much much more charming. Like wow, she's charming, that could be her imagination though.

"Akarsha.... then, for once. Let me be selfish and say it. I still...." Noelle was gasping for words, but she couldn't say it. She started to act erratically, until Akarsha chimed in.

"I love you too"

Noelle's whole world exploded, she was ecstatic.
Noelle gripped Akarsha's body as hard as she could, and started crying again. This time, Akarsha went in for a kiss, Noelle kissed back with 10x enthusiasm. Akarsha's hand went through Noelle's hair, and started working down.
Akarsha hugged Noelle once more. This time Akarsha was also crying.

"Akarsha...."

"Noelle, this wasn't just hard and awesome for you, you know"

Looking back, yeah. Akarsha was roundly rejected. Of course she was sad. Of course she knew that, but seeing her with another boy. She just, lost her sympathy. But she shouldn't have. Akarsha probably was hoping something like this would happen. They both liked each other, circumstances prevented things from happening earlier. But... things can happen now, she.... deserves to hear it.

"I'm sorry Akarsha, you deserve to know it, to hear it. I love you, Its been years, but, even so. I've never stopped loving you. And... I'm sorry you had to say it twice."

"No, I don't care about that. Don't be sad anymore, whatever happened in the past stays in the past."

Akarsha holds onto Noelle

"Lets just look forward to the future." Akarsha flashed the biggest smile to Noelle.

Noelle's face flushed beet red. "Jeez, you're just too beautiful sometimes."

"Hehe, same for you Frenchman~"

"So.... you wanna go on a date tomorrow?" Noelle asked

"Yah sure, nothing else to do tomorrow"

"Heh, its a date.. I can't wait."

"I'm here buddy, I'm sure you'll get it all tomorrow."

Noelle could barely sleep that night, she was too excited to sleep that night.

Well, neither could Akarsha, she was shaking all night.
