Chapter Text
Coffee had been disappearing. Fights the likes that no one had seen since the toilet paper fiascos of the early pandemic days were occurring in grocery stores across the world. The companies producing it swore they were sending out their stock, but it disappeared en route.
Caffeine addicts worldwide were suffering withdrawal. Headaches and sleep deprived mistakes were rampant.
It was clear the world would implode on itself.
Tim had to do something. It was the only thing preventing him from murdering Damian some days, and he only had one day left. So he did the completely rational thing, and stayed up night, using the last of his reserves to research. As he savoured his last cup, he finally found the pattern.
Ra's, in an attempt to draw civilisation into a frenzied state to make it more easy to destroy and rebuild as it was meant to be, had been stockpiling the stuff.
Now, had he been truly awake, Tim would have seen the flaw in his plan as he stole the bat plane.
He didn't take any backup with him. He went in without sleeping.
Tired Tim made mistakes.
As he burst into the warehouse where millions of cups of coffee were waiting for him, he attacked the person inside. They were evenly matched, and Tim was quickly looking for any way to get the upper hand. Luck was against him, however, as he tripped on a bag of spilled beans that had been cut earlier in their fight. He flew backwards, landing flat on his back and groaned.
The figure appeared above him, and held out a hand. "Red Robin?"
"Ladybug. What are you doing here?"
"Need coffee."
"You can't have mine."
"Fine. You take what you can carry. The rest is mine."
Tim thought this was an excellent idea. As much coffee as he could carry. He grabbed the nearest bag and clutched it next to his chest as she helped him back up. "Wait..."
She had a lot more coffee than him.
"How about we go out for coffee together?"
"Sure. I guess I could spare some for you."
A portal opened up, transporting them and their spoils back to Paris, where, if anyone bothered to look up, Red Robin and Ladybug were making themselves insomniacs thanks to the joys of caffeine once again - together.
