Chapter Text

“The fuck did you just say?!” Omi stood up before Sakyo could say anything.

“I said,” the stranger sneered while glaring at Sakyo, “This neighbourhood’s gone to shit and it’s all cause of yakuza fucks like this guy. Now stand up and fight prick or are ya gonna let your boyfriend fight for ya like a wimp.”

Resisting the urge to very insistently point out that Omi was not his boyfriend, Sakyo grabbed at Omi’s arm to pull him back down, but Omi wasn’t budging.

“Just fuck off,” Sakyo countered, “You don’t wanna pick this fight.”

“Like hell I don’t,” the stranger leaned towards Sakyo and that was all the excuse Omi needed.

Luckily, Sakyo was faster, and knew how to read Omi’s movements. In a moment, he was on his feet and in front of Omi, blocking Omi’s fist and throwing his entire bodyweight at the larger man, knocking him off-balance just enough to shove him back into the booth.

“If I hadn’t stopped him,” Sakyo growled at the stranger, “He would’ve punched your head clear off. And if I can stop him, then I’m pretty sure I could fuck you up even worse.”

With a gulp, the stranger ran off, and Sakyo slid into the booth next to Omi.

“Y’know this could be a thing,” Omi made a deep, throaty chuckle as he made room for Sakyo. “Like good cop bad cop except it’s ‘huge guy that can break your spine’ and ‘tiny guy that can somehow knock him onto his back’.”

“Why the fuck would we make that a thing,” Sakyo rolled his eyes. “You shouldn’t have been trying to fight in the first place. Guys like that never follow through on a threat.”

“He was being a jerk,” Omi shrugged, still smouldering from the conflict.

“Honestly being called a dirty yakuza is probably the tamest thing I’ve ever gotten at a bar like this,” Sakyo sighed, “It’s not a big deal.”

Omi grumbled something Sakyo couldn’t quite make out, but he seemed to be finally calming down.

“You’re good,” Sakyo patted Omi’s back. “But I think next time you drink this much we shouldn’t be in public.”
