Chapter Text
“Oh my god I’m not ready for this at all,” Ippan groans into her claws as the buildings pass by them in a blur with the smooth rumbling of their luxury car.
“Hey hey, I’ll be with you there all the way,” Izuku tries to ease her worries, the fox woman peeking through her fingers at the hero.
Izuku knew what it was like, to feel the nerves of attending such a prestigious event like the one they were heading to. The annual hero charity gala had been once again held on the anniversary of All for One and Shigaraki’s defeat, which naturally meant that Izuku had been invited as the savior of Japan and the current number one hero.
What was more surprising however was the fact that Izuku was not wearing his hero costume, rather being fitted into a formal suit, light green in color for both the jacket and the dress pants paired with a sleek white collared shirt, dark tie and matching handkerchief stuffed into the breast pocket. It marked an admittedly drastic improvement from his previous pin stripe suits that he had worn matching with All Might’s own.
But across from him in the spacious car, Ippan continuing to mutter to herself, feeling the nervousness permeate off of her. Wearing a stunning red dress revealing a small amount of her bust, she had a golden bracelet along one of her arms, her flowing blonde hair held back by a red headband as they rest against her shoulder. All in all, Izuku couldn’t help but to capture the sight before him.
But after realizing that he had probably been a creep and been staring for too long, Izuku takes a deep breath to hold back his fading blush as he leans over to rest his hand on her knee, trying to give Ippan any kind of comfort that he could manage.
“There’s no need to worry Ippan. It’s actually very nice once you get inside,” Izuku smiles at her, trying his best to ignore the silkiness of her fur against his rough fingers.
Ippan’s faint murmurs slowly fade away, leaving the car hanging on the silence between the two of them. She seemed to be deep in thought about something, but for what, Izuku wasn’t entirely sure.
“I still don’t know why you invited me…” Ippan manages to whisper out, staring down at her lap.
==========
Izuku lets out a tired sigh as he walks into the large doors of his agency, the late sun shining through the windows by the entrance. Giving a small wave to each of the employees that the HSPC had provided to him, Izuku can’t help but cringe slightly as they don’t even spare him a glance.
But passing into the back of the building towards his own office, Izuku spots Ippan happily humming to herself as she taps away at a tablet in her hand. With the noise of the door closing behind him, her head snaps up, locking eyes with him as a cheerful grin stretches across her face.
“Welcome back Midoriya! Did you have a good patrol?” Ippan stands up with a skip in her step, approaching Izuku as she leans down to meet his height.
“It was nice overall,” Izuku shyly smiles back. He couldn’t help but feel special with her greeting, how her positive energy made his day, “So what’s got your spirits up today Ippan-san?”
“C’mon Midoriya! I think we’re past the point to where you can drop the honorific,” Ippan teases him with a playful smirk, poking his chest with one of her fingers, “Besides seeing you today, you’ve got an exciting event coming up soon~!”
Izuku can’t help but feel his excitement rising with her own, trying his best to ignore the heat rising on his cheeks from what she had said.
“Well pro hero Deku has been officially invited to the Anniversary Gala next week. I’ve moved around your patrols to ensure that you can go and have already contacted a tailor to help get you fitted for the event,” Ippan stands up straight, looking over the tablet in her hand with an air of professionality, “I’ve also written a message to the media about confirming your appearance that we can send out later.”
“Wow thanks Ippan! That’s a lot less things I’ll have to do this year,” Izuku lets out a chuckle as he starts to strip off his hero costume, “Is there anything else that I need to do for it?”
“Well you do have an option to bring a plus one to the event with you which you’ll need to decide on by the end of this week,” Ippan walks back to her desk, sitting down as she returns to her work.
Izuku hums to himself as he slides his gauntlets off his arms. He had usually brought either his mother or All Might to the previous times he had gone to the gala. But with both of them out on their honeymoon together, Izuku would need to look somewhere new this time.
Looking across the room, Izuku sees Ippan’s ear flick as she stares at the glowing screen. His mind pulls up the conversation he had had a while ago with Shouto and Tenya, about how he wanted to approach his relationship with Ippan. This was an opportunity that he needed to take, if not for himself but for Ippan at least.
“Hey Ippan, would you like to join me as my plus one for the gala then?” Izuku asks, the fox woman’s head snapping up with wide eyes in shock.
“W-What?!” Ippan shouts out, raising her hands up and accidentally fumbling her tablet onto the ground.
Nervously stumbling towards the ground to reach for her work, Izuku sends out a black tendril to scoop it up, gently depositing it in her grasp while Ippan slowly tames her emotions, taking a deep breath in order to do so.
“W-Why would you want to invite me?” Ippan says carefully, biting her lower lip with one of her fangs peeking out.
“Well I don’t really have anyone else to invite,” Izuku spots Ippan’s ears droop down sadly, “B-But even if I did, I think I’d like to bring you anyway. At least to thank you for what you’ve done for me so far.”
“It does sound nice…” Ippan trails off, looking up to meet his gaze, “But people might get the wrong idea about it.”
“Then let them. I don’t care what they think,” Izuku smiles proudly, earning a small giggle from Ippan.
“…Sure, that sounds lovely,” Ippan slowly nods her head, causing Izuku to beam even more.
And now, Izuku couldn’t help but look forward to the gala.
==========
“I invited you because I wanted to let you enjoy the fruits of your work,” Izuku continues to encourage her, “Plus it’d be nice to have you here with me.”
Looking up from her lap, Izuku feels his heart flutter with her smile, how adorable and beautiful she looked in her dress across from him. He only hoped he didn’t embarrass himself somehow.
“Mr. Deku, we’ve arrived,” an intercom buzzes quickly, noise outside of the car picking up with the media waiting for his arrival.
Closing his eyes as he collects himself, Izuku moves over to the door as it clicks open to step out. Blinding flashes of light force Izuku to shield his eyes, the media taking any picture that they possible could.
Turning back, Izuku holds an hand out back towards the larger car, Ippan’s claw reaching out from inside as she accepts his gesture. Stepping out of the car to her full height, the cameras rush into another flurry as Ippan winces from all the lights.
“There’s so many people. It’s a little scary,” Ippan whispers loudly to him, curling in closer as to hide herself from the media behind his smaller form with a claw resting on his shoulder.
“Well now you can see why I get so nervous with the media,” Izuku laughs softly, reaching up to place his hand on her own, “It’s very different on the other side of the camera.”
Ippan nods as they continue to walk down the rolled-out red carpet headed towards the large event center, Izuku guiding her past the cameras. He knows that there’s good security for events like this, beyond just the fact that it’s filled with heroes so he just needs to get past the media quickly.
But eventually along the path, Izuku feels Ippan nudge his shoulder, pointing him towards a section along the side of the carpet where a group of reporters were waiting. Leaving Ippan to watch from behind, Izuku steps up to the groups, all of their microphones shifting to point in his direction.
Spotting a woman with dark brown hair pulled back into a ponytail with a competitive grin on her face, Izuku motions to her to start. For some reason, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he had seen her before.
“Deku! What’s your opinion on Nedzu’s proposal to the national diet for the expansion of hero welfare and mandatory mental check-ins?” She almost shoves her mic into his face, clearly excited to have been chosen.
“I think it’s a good decision personally, especially given the face that heroes are human too. We forget that too often in making heroes paragons of virtue when everyone makes mistakes every now and then,” Izuku replies succinctly, thinking about when he had learned about Shouto’s past, “It’s up to our voted representatives to make those decisions and I trust them to do what is right.”
With a thankful nod, the female reporter falls back into the crowd, now each one fighting against the other to get the next chance for a question. But before Izuku gets the chance to pick on the next reporter, a large burly man pushes through the crowd, shoving the other reporters aside as he steps forward looking down at Izuku with a large mic in his hand.
“With the amount of support that mutants get, do you think that the government is focusing too much on so-called ‘mutant discrimination’? And how could we better use the taxpayers money to make sure it doesn’t go to waste?” the man asks with a smirk, Izuku feeling the anger building under his skin at the rude words.
“First off-”
But before Izuku gets the chance to respond, to snuff out the clear bait from the reporter, Izuku hears a angry, low growl behind him, turning back to see Ippan marching forward with a fire in her eyes.
==========
Josei was furious.
It annoyed her to no end to see people think that they could be that clearly quirkist, to be so purposefully callous and for what? Josei had heard of these people all her life, but now with the position of power that she had, she needed to say something.
Feeling a growl rumble deep from her throat, she steps up next to Midoriya, staring down the large man who had asked the question.
“Deku’s stance on heteromorphic discrimination is publicly known and he supports multiple charities in support against discrimination of any kind,” Josei speaks loud and clear, the reporters stay quiet as they watch the exchange, “Unless you have some problem with it.”
The burly man stares at her for a moment before looking her up and down, scoffing as he rolled his eyes.
“And just who are you?”
“Deku’s manager, thank you very much,” Josei replies with a smug smirk on her face, crossing her arms across her chest.
She knew these kinds of people, who thought that they were the toughest person in the room, a bully that never grew up.
Josei locks eyes with him, not leaving an inch for him to gain. She could tell that how she was taller than him made him even more annoyed, one of her ears flicking irritated with his presence. But after the moment passes, the burly man blinks, turning back as he pushes through the crowd in defeat, whispering ‘monster’ under his breath.
“Sorry about that,” Josei looks at the group of reporters, giving them a calming smile, “Deku has time for one more question before he needs to head inside.”
With a small bow, she takes a step back to let Midoriya to finish his questions, looking over to see the greenette’s emerald eyes staring at her, a strange look on his face with a hint of pink on his cheeks. Squeezing his shoulder, she shakes him out of whatever funk he was in as he looks back towards the reporter.
After a quick glance, Midoriya points towards the edge of the reporters, where a small girl with an obvious ant quirk was set up with a phone outstretched towards the hero. With a surprised squeak, the girl hurries closer towards the hero as the other reporters part of her.
It reminds Josei of herself over the past years before she had met Midoriya again, a burgeoning journalist just starting her career. And she just knows that Midoriya had made his final choice just to spite the last guy, making Josei just slightly happy at his protectiveness.
“M-Mr. Deku, what’s your favorite kind of ice cream?” the girl asks with her high-pitched voice, getting a few coos from the other reporters.
“Mint chocolate chip with a drizzle of caramel,” Midoriya replies with an amused smile on his face, the girl beaming at his answer.
“Alright that’s enough questions for now. Thank you for your time,” Josei speaks up, both her and Midoriya giving a small bow towards the media before heading back down the red carpet as another hero takes their place.
“That was a nice thing you did there,” Josei glances over at the hero, giving him a small smile, “That can mean a lot for someone’s career as a starting reporter.”
“Anything to help,” Midoriya returns the smile as they head inside. His smile alone can just rise her spirits even by a little amount, making her feel all warm and giddy inside.
Passing through the large event doors, Josei takes in the large gala hall before her, a large ballroom filled with tables filling the floor and a raised stage at one end. A few banners were hanging from the ceiling, celebrating the defeat of the greatest villain of all time.
Looking around to see who was already here, Josei quickly recognizes a few other guests, mainly other heteromorphs like Gang Orca and Shishida like herself standing above the rest of the room. But it does seem that she is, as she usually is, the tallest person in the room.
Josei slowly begins to feel aware of where she was, very much out of place compared to the rest of the people in the room. Should she even be here? What is she supposed to do now? What does Midoriya think of her dress?
But a brush against her hand shakes her out of her thoughts, Midoriya reaching over to grab her own larger claw. Guiding her over towards one end of the room, she can’t help but feel how much more rough his hand feels compared to her silky fur, even with how much bigger her hand and he doesn’t seem to mind a bit.
“Tenya! Shouto!” Midoriya calls out, Ingenium and Shouto turning towards the pair with welcoming smiles on their faces.
“Izuku.” “Izuku-kun!” the two heroes exclaim with an excited smile on their face, waving as they greet Josei as well.
“Nice to finally meet you, you must be Ippan,” Tenya nods towards the fox woman, “Izuku has mentioned you before.”
“Oh really?” Josei looks down at the greenette, seeing him blush as he avoids her gaze shyly.
“It was about the hiring process after we first talked since they’ve done it before…”
“I think you’re missing a few other things there,” Tenya says with a teasing smirk on his face.
“Well at least you two seem close,” Shouto gestures towards their intertwined hands, causing the duo to quickly separate in embarrassment, even if Josei wished it lasted a little longer.
“It’s my pleasure to meet you though,” Josei quickly recovers, reaching out to shake their hands which they readily accept before realizing what she was missing, “Oh! I wish I had my notebook here with me to get your signatures!”
“Mmm, I can see it,” Shouto squints cryptically at the pair.
“Well maybe I can get them another time then,” Josei sighs, accepting her missed opportunity.
“I think we’ll be seeing each other a bit more often than you’d think,” Tenya smirks as he sends a wink in Midoriya’s direction.
Groaning into his hands, the number one hero accepts the humiliation that his friends are subjecting him to as Josei giggles to herself at his reaction. Wanting to comfort him and unable to stop herself from giving in to her urges, Josei reaches over to ruffle his verdant tangle of curls, Midoriya now blushing heavily while Tenya and Shouto burst into entertained laughter.
“And now to kick off our charity gala tonight, we’d like to invite the number one hero Deku onto the stage!” a voice rings out through the room, the guests quieting to a murmur.
“Well we best be off then. It was good to meet you,” Tenya bows as he leaves, Shouto sending a small wave as he heads further into the tables.
With Midoriya being ushered towards the stage, Josei is left to her own devices, eventually finding her way towards the table that had been reserved for her and Midoriya. And much to her surprise, there was a large seat at the table, just wide enough for Josei to sit there comfortably.
“Alright is this thing on?” Midoriya’s voice echoes through the dim event hall with a slightly feedback scratching over, “People who know me well know that I’m a bit more nervous on stage but I’m not sure that I have a quirk that can help me out here.”
The audience cracks out into a polite laughter, Josei joining in with the rest of the crowd. In times like this, Josei can see clearly how despite the nervousness he has, his natural charisma always manages to win over everyone. It makes Josei almost proud of him to see how he handles the public, no matter how big or small.
“We’re always learning, improving at what we do. We strive to do our best and go plus ultra! And something that I’ve learned over the past year is that I cannot do it all alone, as a hero, or as a person. One of the best decisions that I ever made was when I hired my manager this year. It’s help open my eyes to how much better of a hero that I could be, in costume and as a civilian. I couldn’t have done it without her.”
Up on stage, Midoriya motions in her direction, a few other guests nearby giving her appreciative nods from his words. But Josei didn’t notice them at all as she tries her best to contain her tears, feeling them well up at the edge of her eyes.
It makes her feel like she’s in a dream, one that she doesn’t want to wake up from. And how oh so thankful she was for what she’s been able to have ever since she had been able to meet Midoriya again, something that she’ll always try to make up to him.
“And one of those things that I’ve learned from her is how we can all do more to help people beyond just being on the job and as a hero. They say ‘Knowledge is power’, so simply spreading awareness of injustices in life can make all the difference in the world. I’d like to personally thank all of you for joining us all here today and remember to do what is right. Try to bring a smile to someone’s face and let’s make this world a brighter place.”
Everyone erupts into applause from his speech, cheering at his words as Midoriya bows to the crowd. It makes Josei truly see the impact that he makes, and how the hope that is there in the future is being brought forward by Midoriya and his infallible drive to do what is right.
And there was a person behind that Symbol of Hope, Josei thinks as Midoriya looks at her past the audience, seeing his sparkling smile as he looks at her as if she’s the only person in the room.
Wiping her tears from her face, Josei starts to join in with the rest of the crowd in applauding for the hero. In that moment, Josei realizes that she might not have a hero crush on Deku, but has instead fallen for the person that is Midoriya Izuku.
And she’s not sure how someone as amazing as him would be ever be with her.
==========
Replacing the microphone on its stand, Izuku floats off stage where a few other heroes pat him on the back in congratulations. He had managed to get through the speech, everyone else in the room having heard the message that he wanted to tell them.
Looking over to where Ippan had been sitting, he spots her with a few tears in her eyes as an orchestra begins to play in the background. Approaching the table, she wipes away the built up tears in her blue eyes, greeting the hero with a sincere smile.
“Are you alright Ippan?” Izuku walks up next to her seat, feeling a deep need to comfort her, “I hope I didn’t go too far there.”
“Yes, I’m fine. You just said some very nice words up there,” Ippan sniffles slightly, clearing out the rest of her tears.
“I just said what was true,” Izuku smiles as he holds out his handkerchief for her, which she reluctantly accepts.
“Still, it makes me very glad that you’ve given me this chance,” Ippan sends him a thankful glance as she cleans herself up, “Not many would’ve done what you did for the reasons that you had.”
“You’ve more than earned it now. As my co-worker, and as my friend,” Izuku says as he looks out towards the center of the room, seeing that the tables had been cleared out with the orchestra music coming into full swing.
At the center of the room, Izuku manages to spot his friends already dancing as more pros slowly join them. Shouto was in a polite dance, hand in hand with his mother, Izuku recognizes, an older woman with long white hair similar to his half with small smiles on both of their faces.
Meanwhile, Tenya was in a close tango with another woman with white hair, his wife Sekigai Kashiko with a pair of matching glasses on her face. They were in an almost perfect form, but with very warm expressions between the two of them
Seeing his friends dancing, in the past years he would’ve been like Shouto in inviting his mother to the gala to pay her back for everything she’s done for him over the years. But now Izuku can’t help but think that he might want to be in a situation like Iida, taking his loved one, his significant other, to events like this as his partner in life.
To have them by his side, just like how Ippan had been ever since they met again those few months ago.
Mustering up all the courage that he could manage, he turns back to Ippan, who had been looking at him, seemingly contemplating something with the far-away look in her eyes.
“Ippan?” Izuku speaks up, getting Ippan to blink in surprise at her name being called out.
“H-Huh?” Ippan looks confused for a moment before shaking her head to clear her head, “Y-Yes Midoriya?”
“Would you like to dance?” Izuku smiles at her, holding out his hand to let her accept his request.
Ippan seems to stare at it for a moment, looking unsure for what she should do.
“Are- Are you sure?” she stares up at him, a vulnerable look in her eyes.
“Of course I am Ippan, I wouldn’t have asked otherwise,” Izuku tries his best to ease her worries, shaking his head softly, “There’s no one I’d rather have this dance with.”
Cautiously, she reaches out to accept his hand, Izuku helping to pull her out of her seat with her claw as she stands up to her full height with his head up to her torso. Guiding her towards the center of the room, Izuku can feel her hand shaking in his own, a few eyes looking towards them.
Beginning to sway with the music, their hands held together as they slowly get into their groove with Ippan needing to lean down a bit given their height difference. And with her eyes on the ground, Izuku can’t help that she might still have a few lingering insecurities.
Floating up a bit to ease her struggles, Izuku closes the gap between them a bit more, getting her to raise her head as her large crystal blue eyes meet his own.
“How are you doing Ippan?” Izuku whispers quietly, leaning in closer.
“I’m… I’m not sure if I should be here,” Ippan replies weakly as she rests her head on his shoulder.
“I invited you Ippan so that means that you should,” Izuku comforts her, the pair swaying back and forth with the music.
“I don’t just mean at the gala, just with you in general- at your agency!” Ippan quickly corrects herself, the self-doubt taking over.
Self-doubt that Izuku was more than familiar with, the feeling that you don’t belong, that you shouldn’t be there. For him, starting at UA with a quirk that he had received at sheer random chance from All Might, it took all the encouragement of his friends to get him to learn that he deserved to be there.
“Ippan,” Izuku says softly, getting the fox woman to meet his eyes, a warm smile on his face, “I wouldn’t have survived this year without you. You deserve what you’ve gotten and if anyone has a problem about that, I’ll tell them personally that they’re wrong.”
“But you could’ve hired anyone else for this!”
“Yes I could’ve,” Izuku begrudgingly agrees with a small nod, “But I hired you. You’re perfect for this and I don’t regret it for a second.”
“Sometimes… I think that you’re only doing this to be kind,” Ippan sighs as they sway with the music, “Just like how you are with everyone else. And that this is all because of some obligation you have towards me.”
“I do like you, Ippan. I’ve really enjoyed me time with you here,” Izuku continues to comfort her, he needed to, “I don’t know how I did any of this without you.”
“Please,” Ippan leans in closer, blue meeting green, “I just don’t know how I feel about you.”
“Then let me show you that I want you around,” Izuku whispers softly before making his move.
Tilting his head forward to meet her snout, he feels as their lips finally touch. And the first thought that comes to his mind is just how gentle it is. Despite the difference in their size, it’s something that Izuku finds he doesn’t mind as Ippan leans into the kiss.
This was something special, just for the two of them with nothing else in the world. He isn’t sure how long it lasted but eventually they do separate, looking at each other as they take a step forward in their relationship.
“I see…” Ippan says quietly as Izuku floats back down to the ground.
“I’m sorry Ippan. That was too far for-”
“No!” Ippan leans down as she quickly interrupts him, “I-I just wasn’t expecting you to want to be that with me.”
“Well there’s no one else I’d rather be my girlfriend,” Izuku smiles at Ippan as she sweeps him up in a tight hug.
“Thank you Izuku,” Ippan says into his shoulder as he wraps his arms around her neck, enjoying her warmth.
The music around them begins to pick up tempo, the dancers around them starting to match the beat with an upbeat groove. Izuku doesn’t care if there were any eyes on them, he just was enjoying his time with Ippan.
This was uncharted territory for Izuku but he’s glad that he’ll have Ippan with him every step of the way, both as his manager and as his partner.
“C’mon, let’s dance!”
Feeling her contagious giddiness, Izuku activates [Float] as she swings him through the air, a wide smile splitting with face with red spread across it.
And they’ll be fine together as Izuku smiles, laughing as the continue to dance, fully embracing the chance that they now have.
===== 5 years later =====
Repetitive beeping pushes through Josei’s comforting sleep as their alarm goes off again. Even before she opens her eyes, she can tell that the spot on the bed next to her was much too empty for her liking. And with her sensitive ears, she manages to hears the trickle of the shower faintly in the background.
Slowly blinking her eyes open with a tired yawn, she reaches over for her phone, clicking it on to spot the 10:32am plastered on its bright screen. On a normal day, she would be freaking out for missing her ride to work in the morning, but she was now so glad to finally be on their vacation.
Stretching widely across their bed, Josei eventually pulls herself out of their bed, a beam of sunlight shooting through their bedroom, illuminating a thin path across the messy bedsheets. Reaching over to grab her robe, she swings on the classic red, finally having the energy to stand up to start her day.
It had been two long years since they moved into their current house. It was quite the large place, made particularly to suit people with quirks like her own, plenty tall enough for her to stand comfortably.
Naturally, she had protested against all of the changes made specifically for her, feeling that they weren’t all necessary but Izuku had halted her arguments with that handsome smile of his. She swore he knew how effective it was.
Heading over towards the open bathroom door, Josei looks over at her right hand where the golden band was sitting happily on her finger. It had only been a few short weeks since their wedding, something that still hadn’t fully processed for her yet.
But it was now finally the time for their honeymoon, being slightly delayed due to Izuku’s typically busy schedule. Luckily however, as his manager, Josei had plenty of power to clear out their schedule for the time to come, giving the newlyweds the time to fully enjoy their time together.
Passing through the open door, Josei is greeted by the steamy full bathroom, spotting her husband walking out of the large walk-in shower on the side of the room. A small part of her feels slightly betrayed at not having gotten the chance to shower with him, but she’ll figure something out to get back to him.
Izuku was wearing a simple green towel around his waist, giving Josei a full view of the different scars he’s earned over the years. Glistening abs still wet from the shower and dew drops hanging from his somehow stilly fluffy curls, but what truly gets Josei attention is his matching gold ring hanging from a string around his neck.
Realizing that she had been just ogling him, which was now fully within her rights as his wife, she’s greeted happily by Izuku with a wide smile across his face.
“Good morning Josei!” Izuku says as he floats up to her, meeting her for a quick kiss before he heads towards the side of the room to grab another towel, “I left the shower warm for you.”
“Morning Izuku,” Josei replies as she places her phone onto the counter, hanging her robe on the wall before walking into the shower, “Ready for tomorrow?”
“Yep, it’s going to be great!” Izuku calls out from outside the shower, “Mom and Ochako had a lot of stuff to say about Hawaii!”
Humming in agreement, Josei starts to clean herself off with the giant bottle of shampoo attached to the wall. Despite all the fur that her quirk gave her, she was plenty thankful that it was easy to clean, just needing plenty of suds to cover it.
“When’s the flight again?” Izuku’s head peeks into the shower as he drapes a towel for her across the countertop.
“Tonight at 9pm in Tokyo. We’ll get there in the morning.”
“I’m flying us over there, I’m guessing?”
“Well it saves us a lot on train tickets,” Josei supplies as she finally finishes with the suds, now standing under the warm shower as she fully rinses off her body.
“I thought the reason was because you like being taken in a princess carry?” Izuku teases her, causing Josei to roll her eyes.
“Well are you going to stop doing it then?” she counters, earning a chuckle from her husband as the loud hum of an electric toothbrush turning on.
“MMMHHMMMHHH!!”
Shutting off the shower, Josei takes a step deeper into the shower before she shakes herself off, leaving her fur to dry off as she grabs the towels her husband so thankfully left for her, wrapping her hair with one and putting the other around her waist.
Walking back into the main bathroom, she spots Izuku brushing his teeth in front of their main sink, glancing over at her before returning to staring at the mirror.
Grabbing her phone, Josei decides to flick through the news articles to see what she had missed, only for her app to play an automated broadcast before she has the chance to do anything.
“Deku once again saves the morning commute! Watch as the Sym-”
Quickly pausing the video, she takes a deep breath as she looks over at the greenette who was still just brushing his teeth. Stepping over to him, she places her hand on the sink next to him, pressing her breast against his head to prevent any escape.
“So… this wasn’t you on the news right?” Josei raises an accusatory eyebrow at her husband.
“Nuh-uh,” Izuku bluntly replies before spitting out the toothpaste in his mouth, “It was on my jog this morning. I just broke up a dispute between some people, I wasn’t on the clock.”
“Really?”
“I swear on my love for you,” Izuku looks up at her as he twists his head up, Josei feeling his curls against her chest, beaming a bright smile at her.
“Alright fine,” Josei sighs in defeat, “I just don’t want to be worrying too much about your work during our vacation.”
“I won’t, I promise. I’m already starting to get packed for out flight. I can’t wait to go with you,” Izuku says with full sincerity, something that Josei could never fight against.
“You’re lucky that I love you,” Josei playfully growls at him as he floats up next to her to place a quick peck on her cheek.
“I know, I’m the luckiest man in the world,” Izuku smiles at her as he begins to walk out of the bathroom.
But seeing her chance for revenge, Josei quickly turns with her hand pulled back, aiming directly for her target. With a dead-on accuracy, her hand strikes true, a loud smack as she gets full contact on his muscled ass.
With a loud yelp, Izuku looks back at her as he rubs his behind, shooting her a playful glare.
“What was that for?” the greenette asks, faking hurt in his voice.
“For worrying me already,” Josei pouts back at him, the couple waiting to see who would crack first before breaking into laughter.
“We’ll always worry about each other to the end of time,” Izuku smiles softly at her before disappearing out of the doorway.
It makes Josei think about how long it’s been since they’ve been together. From her time worrying about him professionally, and then eventually romantically. And how many more years there would be to come.
