Chapter Text
Since then, Suguru has tried to deny his feelings and consider them as feelings of deep hatred. But he couldn’t lie to himself any longer and ended up here, doing everything he could to tempt Gojo to reciprocate his feeling. Wow, he really looks like a clown, huh. Anyway, he summed up all the efforts he had put into Gojo and here are the results.
- When he is told to wake up by Gojo in the morning, he pretends to be difficult and delirious, “kiss me and I will wake up.” Result: Gojo lowered the temperature of his room and grabbed his blanket, he ended up walking into the bathroom grumbling as he smiled fondly.
- He pretends his hand still hurts from the tree incident and asks Gojo to feed him. Result: Gojo in turn scolds him by asking him to be more careful so as not to hurt himself. Gojo took the medicine box and treated the wound again, which had actually faded. Even though he felt guilty, it was worth it because he was fed by Gojo.
- A bit blunt but he’s desperate. Ask Gojo to hang out just the two of them. Result: he walks alone and Gojo stands next to him like a bodyguard.
The conclusion is, Gojo is very oblivious, insensitive, and dumb. How could he not be aware of my flirting? he thought. That was one of the option, the other was that Gojo was aware but didn’t reciprocate his feeling so he ignored him. He hoped it wasn’t the latter. But if it’s not the latter, is he really that insensitive? As far as he knew about Gojo, insensitive was definitely not one of them, let alone stupid. On the contrary, Gojo is the keenest person he knows. He was good at reading people, and he clearly knew a person’s intentions. So, is it true that he ignored his flirting?
"Young master, it's time for dinner!" Gojo shouted from the dining room.
Hearing that, Suguru immediately suppressed his thoughts and made himself look good for dinner. He tied his long hair into a half bun and straightened his clothes. When he arrived at the dining room, he didn't see his father and mother anywhere. “Are my father and mother not home yet?" Suguru asked when he sat down on the chair.
While preparing dishes for him, Gojo explained, "Geto-sama and madam won't be coming home today, so they asked me to take care of you."
"I'm not a kid," Suguru replied with a pout.
"Of course, young master,” Gojo smiled in amusement. “Now eat, I have prepared zaru soba for you,” he continued.
Seeing this, Suguru became increasingly conflicted. How could he not fall in love with Gojo if he even remembered small details like this? He once said his favorite food was zaru soba just in passing and he remembers it until now.
When he was about to start eating, he saw Gojo standing next to him and raised an eyebrow, "are you not going to eat?"
"I'll eat later." Suguru doesn't understand why he doesn't just eat together with him now. Maybe that just an excuse and he’s actually on a diet? He doesn't accept this, if he diets too much to the point of not eating dinner, no matter how strong he is, he could fall ill. Considering this, Suguru demands him to sit and eat with him. When Gojo continues to refuse, he says he doesn't like eating alone as an excuse. Gojo finally relents and joins him for dinner. He sat in the chair farthest from him. Seeing this, he sulked, "I might as well eat myself if you sat that far away. It's not like I'm going to bite you."
Gojo looked shocked and then he laughed. Suguru looked at him with a puzzled expression. He didn't say anything he thought was funny. Gojo's laughter died down. He saw the look on Suguru's face and tried to compose himself. He cleared his throat, "fine, I'll sit there."
After Gojo sat down and was ready to eat, "itadakimasu" was said simultaneously by them. Suguru raised his chopsticks and tasted the zaru soba. "This tastes great! How can you make it this good?"
Gojo looks proud and smug. He almost regretted complimenting his homemade food. "I've told you before, young master. I'm good at everything I do." Suguru thought he was lying and exaggerating before. It seems that lying is not Gojo's characteristic.
Dinner went smoothly, filled with chatter and laughter. It almost feels like a common occurrence. When Suguru was recounting his childhood, Gojo remembered something, "sorry to interrupt, young master, you will start entering school again next week right?"
Suguru was confused by the direction of this conversation, "yes, it's the start of the 2nd semester, what's with that?"
"I forgot to tell you that I will be transferring to the same school as young master."
"Is it true?!" Suguru couldn't believe this, he was so happy it felt surreal.
Gojo looked at him dumbfounded, he asked, "I thought you would be upset by this arrangement, young master."
"Why would I?"
"Because you hate me."
He was so wrong. Suguru doesn't hate him personally, but rather resents his presence. He thought that with Gojo around, he would no longer be free. Therefore he tried to make him leave of his own accord. Of course that changed now because of his feelings. He doesn’t include this when he explains it to Gojo who listens intently.
"So... you don't hate me?"
"Yes! How many times do I have to repeat it for you to understand?" said Suguru exasperately while looking into Gojo's eyes. Upon saying that, Gojo seems to visibly brighten up. Suguru is glad because Gojo looks so happy because of him. Subconsciously, he smiled, his eyes crinkled.
“I can't wait to go to school with him,” he thought.
