Chapter 9

Summary:

They stay silent for a bit, Haneul draped around her dad in a tight hug. She looks up at him and asks with wide eyes, “can uncle Wooyoung be my papa, too? Just like how Nana has two dads?”

Her hopeful eyes draw a wet laugh from Hongjoong a single tear falling from his eye, “of course, sweetheart—I think Wooyoung would love to be your papa.”

“Yay!” the ten-year-old happily exclaims, burying herself deeper against her dad as she giggles in genuine happiness and excitement over the thought of having Wooyoung as her papa.

Hongjoong can’t believe that he could love Wooyoung even more—just the thought of how devoted he is to Hongjoong’s daughter and how Haneul has been able to form a beautiful connection with him, makes Hongjoong fall a little bit further into the Wooyoung-shaped hole in his heart.

Chapter Text

“Haneul-ah, how old are you now?” Hongjoong asks, snuggling against his daughter in her bed, wrapping his arms around her, mentally taking measurements and taking note of how much she’s grown since the last time he hugged her this much.

“10,” Haneul simply responds, cuddling against her appa with a smile, “why appa?”

“We met your uncle Woo when you were five, right?”

“Mhmm,” Haneul replies, “you’ve been with uncle Woo for more than four years already.”

“You’re so good at math,” Hongjoong teases her, pinching her cheek gently, causing an eruption of giggles to come out of the ten-year-old child.

“Haneul-ah,” Hongjoong starts to get serious again, “I’m thinking of asking your uncle Woo to marry me, but before I do that, is that okay with you, sweetheart?”

Haneul looks at him with wide, teary eyes that look a lot like his own. After a moment of silence, Hongjoong adds, “if you’re not ready yet, that’s fine, sweetheart—I know proposing to Wooyoung might be different for me because it wouldn’t just be about us being ready, it’s also about you being ready to officially welcome him into our family.”

Haneul lets the tears fall from her eyes as she rushes to hug her dad, “appa, I would be really happy if you marry uncle Woo!”

“He makes you happy and he makes me happy, appa,” Haneul adds, “I’m sure I want him in our family,” Haneul adds.

Hongjoong huffs out a laugh, breathing a sigh of relief, and pressing a soft kiss on his daughter’s forehead. “Love you, sweetheart,” Hongjoong says, which Haneul reciprocates with a happy mumble against her dad’s chest.

Wooyoung arrives to their shared apartment in the middle of the night, late-night practices keeping him up as he prepares for his upcoming comeback. This one is special, as he made every song of his full-length album with Hongjoong. They wrote lyrics, recorded the songs, and produced each track together. Wooyoung was even able to convince Hongjoong to rap and sing with him for the title track, even going as far to invite the other man to perform with him on stage.

Wooyoung was lucky that his boyfriend was exceptionally weak to his puppy eyes.

Wooyoung giggles at the memory of Hongjoong’s agreeing to his wishes, when he gets greeted by the said boyfriend from the sofa.

“Woo? Baby?” Hongjoong greets from where he was comfortably lounging on the couch, watching some western TV series that he picked up the week before.

“Hi hyung,” Wooyoung replies, pressing a kiss on sleepy Hongjoong’s forehead.

“Tired from practice?” Hongjoong asks, opening his arms wide for Wooyoung to jump into.

Wooyoung makes his way to the older man and takes his rightful place in the arms of his boyfriend, cuddling into Hongjoong with a sigh of relief as he’s able to settle comfortably in his boyfriend’s chest.

“Very,” Wooyoung finally replies, “in a few days, you’ll be in the practice room with me.”

“Eh,” Hongjoong hums, “that’s a problem for future me. Right now, I want to cuddle my boyfriend.”

Wooyoung giggles, pressing light kisses on Hongjoong’s collarbone as a sign of affection.

After a few beats of silence between the two, the only sounds coming from the forgotten television series, Hongjoong speaks up, “Woo, do you want to move to a bigger home?”

“I was running my finances the other day,” Hongjoong explains, “and I’ve got enough to buy us a new house if we wanted to.”

“Correction,” Wooyoung mumbles, “we’ve got enough to buy a new house. Of course I’ll split with you, hyung.”

Hongjoong laughs, even in his sleepy daze, Wooyoung was sassy as ever, “alright, baby, we’ll split.”

“I want one with a large lawn so we can get a big dog,” Wooyoung says, “it’ll be a place where Haneul can run around and play with the dog, too.”

“I think we’d have a cat, too,” Hongjoong adds, “we’d adopt them when they’re both young so they won’t be too scared of each other. They’d grow up together.”

“Yes,” Wooyoung says, “Haneul would love them both so dearly.”

“One master bedroom, a room for Haneul, another room I can set up to be my recording studio, and then another one we can set-up to be your dance studio,” Hongjoong lists aloud, earning laughter from Wooyoung. Wooyoung teases him, “but we won’t be aloud in the recording or dance studio during weekends, you workaholic.”

Hongjoong pouts but catches Wooyoung’s lips in a light kiss, “my weekends are always reserved for the two most important people in my life—you and Haneul.”

“Do you want a pool?” Wooyoung randomly asks, “I would want one for South Korean summers, but I’m thinking of the upkeep and it would just be a bitch to maintain.”

“Let’s make sure that at least two of the bathrooms have a bath tub, then,” Hongjoong answers, “But at least one of the bath tubs should be able to fit two people.”

“Oh,” Wooyoung looks up from Hongjoong’s chest to raise an eyebrow and send a smirk to his boyfriend, “thinking of doing something scandalous in the bath tub, hyung?”

“Yes,” Hongjoong replies bluntly, causing Wooyoung to cackle loudly, “why have a bath tub if I won’t be able to fuck you in it?”

Wooyoung kisses Hongjoong’s lips, which Hongjoong returns with much fervor. Hongjoong swipes his tongue softly against Wooyoung’s lower lip, an invitation for them to deepen the kiss. Wooyoung opens his mouth slightly, giving the older man access to Wooyoung’s mouth.

Like a man starved, Hongjoong explores every inch of the wet heat of Wooyoung’s mouth, as if he hadn’t had years of experience mapping Wooyoung’s entire body, under his belt.

Wooyoung pulls away after a while of making out with each other lazily, the lack of air beginning to bother him.

“I love you, hyung,” Wooyoung says aloud, pressing a kiss on Hongjoong’s cute nose, “I’m so excited for a future with you and Haneul.”

“I love you, too, baby,” Hongjoong replies, fondness and adoration dripping in each of his words, “I think forever would be far too short of a time for the amount of love I have for you.”

Wooyoung giggles, “sappy, hyung.” But, he kisses Hongjoong just as hard as he teases his boyfriend, too, so really, Hongjoong gives him a free pass.

“Look at this, Haneul-ah,” Hongjoong announces from where he was seated on the floor, right beside his daughter who was busy sketching something of her own on the coffee table.

Haneul looks up and scans the sketch that Hongjoong was holding up. The ring was beautifully designed—the band was intricately engraved all over, though small enough that it would only be visible when looked at intensely.

“I’ll have it custom made, so we can match,” Hongjoong explains further, “18k white gold band, and it’ll have three diamonds in the middle, with two topaz stones at each side.”

“Appa, it’s so beautiful,” Haneul says with wide eyes and her jaw wide open, “uncle Woo would love it so much, I just know it!”

Hongjoong laughs and looks back at his sketch, “thanks, Haneul-ah. It isn’t too much, is it?”

Haneul shakes her head no, “I don’t think so, appa. If the engraving would be small it wouldn’t be too flashy.”

Hongjoong hums his assent, “that’s what I was thinking, too.”

“Inside the band, I’ll have Wooyoung’s ring engraved with this: the center of the wide world and the heavenly skies wish to be your forever friends.”

“Appa is the center of the wide world and then Haneulie is the heavenly skies?” Haneul asks, tilting her head to the side.

“Yes, and Wooyoungie is our forever friend, since his name was chosen for him because his eomma and appa wanted him to make a lot of friends,” Hongjoong explains further.

“Ah,” Haneul replies, “what about your’s, appa? What’s going to be engraved in your ring?”

Heavenly skies and my forever friend guide me to the center of the wide world.”

“Appa,” Haneul gasps, “that would be so nice! I think aside from uncle Woo loving it so much, he’ll cry so hard!”

“Oh, sweetheart,” Hongjoong laughs, “I’m so glad you love my ideas.”

“but, that’ll be expensive, right?” Haneul asks, “18k gold and a lot of diamonds and stones, seem like it would be expensive.”

“Yes, but appa has saved up for it,” Hongjoong hums, ruffling his daughter’s hair gently, “don’t worry, Haneul-ah. I made sure to allocate some of my savings for this and then our wedding. I also have enough for when we want to move houses.”

“Okay appa,” Haneul giggles, “I forget sometimes that you’re rich.”

“I’m not rich,” Hongjoong pouts and whines, the joke was something Wooyoung liked to tease him about, something that Haneul has picked up from her uncle to use against her dad, “I’m just financially responsible with the money that I’ve earned.”

“Sure, appa,” Haneul sing-songs, giggling away and returning to her own drawing, “I believe you.”

Hongjoong laughs and starts tickling Haneul in retaliation, teasing the ten-year-old just as much as she’s teased him.

Hongjoong smirks right in front of the camera, his gaze darkened as he mouths out the lyrics of his own rap, seducing the audience, whether it be those who would watch the final product or those who were behind the camera as they shoot the music video.

Hongjoong raises an eyebrow, his smirk widening as he plays a confident sex-god dripping in appeal, just to match the aesthetics and the song of Wooyoung’s title track.

Wooyoung gulps, watching his boyfriend perform from the live feed of a million-dollar camera. Personally, he thinks that 4k cameras worth his year’s salary wasn’t enough to capture how truly handsome Kim Hongjoong was, but he supposes that it would be for the best. lest he’d want to fight off millions of men and women for Hongjoong’s hand in marriage.

Hongjoong was dancing around, enjoying himself as the director asks him to shoot various scenes. Wooyoung takes in every detail—the Balmain-tailored suit fitting him perfectly, enhancing his tiny waist and broad shoulders, his jet-black hair perfectly styled into a half-up and half-down hairstyle that Wooyoung loves so much on Hongjoong, and his makeup immaculately defining his large, sultry eyes, and highlighting the lips that Wooyoung could spend hours kissing.

“Cut!” the director calls out, and Hongjoong immediately drops his sex-god persona and erupts into a gentle smile, catching Wooyoung’s eyes as he moves towards his star-struck boyfriend.

“Hey,” Hongjoong greets him, “did I do well?”

Wooyoung closes his mouth from how his jaw had been dropped, gulping as he takes in Hongjoong in all of his glory up close, “‘did I do well?’ he asks! Hyung, you did a little too well! How am I gonna keep my fans off of you, huh?”

“I think the better question would be how will Wooyoung-ssi keep his hands off of you, Hongjoong-ssi?” Wooyoung’s trusted hair stylist giggles, the rest of his styling team jeering and giggling at the couple’s reddening faces.

“Let’s just hope that for our sake, Wooyoung will keep his hands to himself until the shoot ends,” Yeosang snorts, joining in on the fun, endlessly entertained by his best friend’s excuses and tomato-like face.

The team breaks off to various conversation after a few rounds of teasing, after Wooyoung has begged for them to stop and the team finally taking pity.

Wooyoung hugs Hongjoong and buries his face on Hongjoong’s suit, mindful of his makeup and styling. “You good, baby?” Hongjoong asks him, Hongjoong’s hands gently rubbing up and down Wooyoung’s forearm as an attempt to soothe him.

“Good, hyung,” Wooyoung replies, “you look stunning. I want to climb you like a fucking tree, hyung.”

Hongjoong laughs, pressing a kiss on Wooyoung’s forehead, “I’ll fuck you so good you’ll forget your name, darling—but let’s finish this up first, hmm?”

“Hyung!” Wooyoung whines loudly, Hongjoong laughing mischievously as he pulls away from Wooyoung and pinches the younger man’s cheeks.

A beautifully produced music video accompanies the title track that showcases the explosively passionate chemistry between the duo, which coupled with the song “Devotion,” creates a musical masterpiece that is sure to take the world by storm.

The album, titled "Pragma" brings listeners on an excitingly sultry rollercoaster, each song feeling like an indulgence of carnal desires befitting of eros. However, the lyrics, upon closer analysis, show passionately romantic words that portray a deeply-rooted trust between partners for life.

Industry insiders are quick to acknowledge the genius behind Wooyoung's latest work, with critics praising the artist for their ability to push the boundaries of creativity while remaining true to their personal style and color. Kim Hongjoong, the esteemed producer who worked on each track with Wooyoung, has another masterpiece under his belt—the production of the entire album shows Wooyoung in a light much different than the idol’s previous releases.

Fans flooded social media with expressions of gratitude and excitement, with hashtags related to the album and title track dominating trending lists. Statement of support over the recently-published relationship between the idol and the producer also overwhelm the idol’s social media accounts. The collective sentiment among listeners is one of overwhelming satisfaction, as Wooyoung continues to solidify their presence as a household name in the industry.

In a world where music serves as a language in and of its own, Wooyoung's latest album beautifully showcases love and romance. The album, title track, and music video collectively represent a triumphant chapter in Wooyoung's illustrious career, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of fans and further cementing their legacy in the pantheon of musical greatness.

“Wooyoung-ah, Hongjoong-hyung, the album launch party on the seventh day of the release is fully approved and everything’s in order,” Yeosang updates the couple, earning a wide grin from Hongjoong and an appreciative one from Wooyoung.

Hongjoong may have sought out the manager’s help for what he’s planning in order to celebrate Wooyoung’s successful album launch.

“You’ve invited only the closest of friends, right? As well as people from the company?” Wooyoung asks his manager. “Yes, of course—San, Seonghwa-hyung, Yunho, Mingi, Jongho, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Changbin and your bestest friend, Haneul,” Yeosang replies, “did I miss out on anyone you’d like to invite?”

“No, I don’t think so—how about you, Hongjoong-hyung?” Wooyoung turns to face his boyfriend, who was looking at him with a fond expression that triggered him to squeeze Hongjoong’s hand thrice, as if to say ‘I love you.’

Hongjoong smiles, “if it’s okay with you, I’d like to invite Chan-hyung and Minho.”

“Oh, yeah! It’s been a while since I’ve seen them—they congratulated me on the album release, too. Chan-hyung sent a picture of them streaming the MV,” Wooyoung giggles, “I’d like to invite them, too.”

“Alright,” Yeosang dutifully notes down the additional invitations on his notes app, “I’ll send them an invitation within the day.”

“Thank you, Yeo,” Hongjoong says, patting the younger man on his had gently, “I appreciate what you’ve been doing for us.”

Yeosang smiles and chuckles, the double-meaning isn’t lost on him at all—if anything, the younger man ends up giddy and bouncy at the reminder, “you know I’m always happy to help the two of you, hyungie.”

Wooyoung pouts, “how come you’re so sweet to hyung, Yeosang-ah? I’m the one paying you!”

Yeosang rolls his eyes, “if you were half as easy as Hongjoong-hyung to manage, I’d be a lot sweeter, Wooyoung-ah.”

Wooyoung cackles, hugging his manager tightly and pressing his cheek against Yeosang’s in affection, “you wouldn’t love me if I was easy to manage, Yeosang-ah!”

7:19pm

Yeosang: i made sure to invite your family and woo’s as well, hyung

Hongjoong: thank you, Yeosang-ah.

Yeosang: they all know what’s going to happen and they’ll be there!

Yeosang: woo’s mom and dad love you btw

Yeosang: his brothers too

Yeosang: his mom kept on talking ab how cute u were asking everyone for their permission

Yeosang: she said you didn’t even need to lol if woo broke up with you she’d beat his ass and arrange the marriage herself

Hongjoong: i know, she told me that herself, as well.

Hongjoong: i love them just as much.

Yeosang: god i hate being reminded how perfect you actually are for each other

Yeosang: and IVE been in a relationship that’s gone on far longer than yours

Yeosang: its like you make me feel single but im literally in a ten-year-relationship

Hongjoong: is this your way of asking me to subtly ask San about his plans on proposing?

Yeosang: no

Yeosang: but i mean because you already offered it would be rude to say no wouldnt it

Yeosang: 🤭🤭🤭

Hongjoong: 🙄🙄🙄

The couple has socialized with every person within the party, and Hongjoong was growing more and more nervous by the hour. Yeosang and San would send a sneaky thumbs up to Hongjoong every time they’d lock eyes, Hongjoong would find a teary-eyed Seonghwa, starry eyes looking at him with soft adoration and pride, Yunho, Mingi and Jongho would give him smiles full of mischief, a knowing look on their faces—all of which Hongjoong greatly appreciates, but definitely adds to the realization that he was finally doing this.

It was real—in a few minutes, he’d get the opportunity to ask Wooyoung to be his and Haneul’s forever friend.

Wooyoung looks gorgeous, in his tailor-fitted, all-black suit, the pants hugging his tiny waist and muscled thighs, emphasizing the ass that Hongjoong is undoubtedly attracted to. Inside the black coat was a black vest which lacked an undershirt, a fact that makes Hongjoong want to keep his hands all over Wooyoung all night. Wooyoung’s longer black-and-white hair is slicked back, showing his chiseled face, which is done up with smoky-eyes and a glossed lip that adds to idol’s overall sultry look.

Hongjoong thinks he doesn’t look half-bad stood next to his boyfriend, wearing a black high-waisted slacks with a white long-sleeved shirt tucked in, under a scaly black-and-white custom-styled Balmain jacket. His large-lensed sunglasses is no longer sat on his face, folded and hung over his open collar, the lack of sunlight rendering the eyewear unnecessary. His black hair was slicked back in a half-up half down hairstyle, the undercut that Wooyoung adores on him complimenting his sharp features.

Wooyoung clung to Hongjoong the entire night, the younger man would frequently wrap Hongjoong’s arm around his own waist, not wanting to be separated from his boyfriend at all.

After talking with both Chan and Minho, Wooyoung led Hongjoong to grab a drink with him, looking everywhere with furrowed eyebrows, “where’s Haneulie?”

“She’s with Seonghwa,” Hongjoong explains, “wanted to play with her uncle for a bit.”

Hongjoong presses a quick kiss on Wooyoung’s lips, just because he can, and hopes that all the jitters in his body could be shaken off by the familiarity of the act of affection between them.

“What’s that for?” Wooyoung giggles, his hand coming up to gently caress Hongjoong’s cheek, unaware of Hongjoong’s internal dysfunction. “Nothing,” the other man replies, “just wanted to kiss you, because I can.”

Wooyoung laughs, pressing his forehead against Hongjoong’s, “you’re ridiculous.”

“Love you,” Hongjoong says, pressing another kiss on the corner of Wooyoung’s lips, causing the corner of Wooyoung’s mouth to turn upwards. “Love you too, hyungie.”

They slowly sway along to the music, dancing in a way that they both knew how to, a moment of gentle intimacy in the middle of a celebration made just for them. For Wooyoung.

Hongjoong subtly checks his watch and sees Seonghwa from the side. Seonghwa gives him a thumbs up, carrying Haneul in his arms, the ten-year-old smiling widely while hugging a bouquet of red and white roses she wanted to give her uncle Wooyoung.

Hongjoong nods, and Seonghwa brings Haneul closer.

“Baby,” Hongjoong calls out to Wooyoung, “I think a little someone has something to say to you.”

Wooyoung’s eyebrows scrunch up in confusion, pulling away from Hongjoong slowly before Hongjoong gently guides him to turn around and face Haneul.

Seonghwa is smiling, tears forming in his eyes as Haneul excitedly runs toward Wooyoung with a microphone. The lights have dimmed, save for one that was focused on the scene between Wooyoung and Hongjoong’s daughter (and soon enough, Wooyoung’s).

Haneul is smiling, the mic right in front of her mouth, “uncle Woo, for you!”

“Thank you, Haneulie,” Wooyoung is smiling brighter than a thousand signs combined, the act was something that Hongjoong’s boyfriend greatly appreciated, despite the obvious confusion in his face. At least, it was obvious to Hongjoong.

After giving Wooyoung the bouquet, Yunho hands Haneul a folder which she presents to Wooyoung.

“Uncle Wooyoung,” Haneul says, “if you open the folder, appa says you’ll see something important.”

“But before you check it, uncle Woo, I have a question to ask you—can you be Haneulie’s papa?” Haneul’s eyes were as big as saucers, looking up at Wooyoung with a smile that no one can ever say no to.

Hongjoong was stood right next to Wooyoung, unable to keep his grin and watery eyes in check. Seonghwa was crying and Yunho was crying right next to him—Yeosang was laughing, San was in tears, Mingi was squealing, while Jongho was holding on tightly to his boyfriend in a bear hug.

Wooyoung, sweet, lovely Wooyoung—he melted at the sight of an adorable Haneul, dressed in a frilly pink and white dress looking up at him expectantly.

“Haneulie,” Wooyoung sobs with a smile, “my dear little princess, of course I’ll be your papa!”

“Yay!” Haneul squeaks into the mic, running to hug Wooyoung’s legs and the rest of the crowd cheers.

Wooyoung looks to his side, wanting to share the excitement with Hongjoong, but he finds that Hongjoong was no longer stood next to him. He looks for his boyfriend, confusion painting his features until he locks eyes with a crying Seonghwa who points at Hongjoong.

Wooyoung sees Hongjoong kneeling on one knee, and gasps.

His eyes widen, watching Hongjoong carefully bring out a ring box in front of him. Hongjoong’s hands are shaking, and it takes everything in Wooyoung to hold himself back from taking the ring and holding his boyfriend’s nervous hands in his.

If he wasn’t crying earlier, Wooyoung definitely was crying now—Hongjoong hasn’t even said anything and he’s already sobbing in pure, unadulterated happiness.

Hongjoong looks up at him and Haneul is holding a microphone to help her father. Hongjoong sees his face and erupts in a beautiful smile—the smile that Wooyoung fell in love with.

It’s as if all the nerves left Hongjoong’s body as he looked at Wooyoung, the world suddenly shrinking, containing only Wooyoung, Hongjoong and Haneul.

“Wooyoung-ah,” Hongjoong starts, swallowing the lump in his throat, “the moment you walked into my studio, I knew I was in trouble.”

This gathers a laugh from the people around them, mostly wet and tearful as most of their friends were crying over the intimate moment.

“You were the prettiest man I’d ever seen, and you had such a mouth on you, too—you had no regard for personal space and hugged me on our very first meeting. I remember thinking that you either had no self-preservation instincts, or you simply just did not care.”

Wooyoung laughs at this, the first fond memory shared between them, an inside joke reserved specially just for the two of them.

“And then I saw you with Haneul and I knew then and there, I was done for. I couldn’t let you go. I simply did not want to. Before you, the only thing I wanted in life was for Haneul to grow up happy and loved, for her to become the good and kind person that I know she is. But you came along and suddenly, I wanted to make sure she grew up happy and loved, by us—but more than that, a new goal came into mind, and that was to do everything I can to make you happy.”

Wooyoung sobs into his mouth, chanting, ‘oh you do, hyung, you do,’ in assurance. A smile on his face tells Hongjoong to go on.

“I can’t promise that I won’t frustrate you, that I won’t push your buttons and nag at you when you’re overworking yourself and when you don’t give me enough attention—but what I can promise you is that there is nothing in this world I wouldn’t do, nothing in this universe that I won’t be able to give up, just so that you can be happy with me and Haneulie,” Hongjoong explains, getting choked up while the rest of their friends and family coo at them, emotional laughter shared between all of them and Hongjoong opens up the ring box to show the custom-made ring, Wooyoung gasping at the ring, “Jung Wooyoung, you’ve wormed your way into our lives and our hearts, would you give us the privilege of you staying forever? The love of my life, will you marry me?”

Wooyoung screams a loud, ‘yes!’ shocking Hongjoong and everyone else, with Hongjoong quickly sliding the ring on Wooyoung’s finger. Hongjoong laughs, tears freely flowing from his eyes while Wooyoung’s tears have yet to stop. Wooyoung grabs Hongjoong and pulls him up, immediately trapping him in a passionate kiss that warms Hongjoong’s entire body. A chorus of cheers and applause surround them, their friends and family relishing Hongjoong, Wooyoung, and Haneul’s happiness with them.

Wooyoung pulls away before things get too heated between them, they were still in front of their parents after all, but the happiness and their bright smiles don’t end there. Haneul rushes to trap the both of them in a hug, burying her face in between Hongjoong and Wooyoung.

“God, now everyone knows I can never say no to either of you!” Wooyoung cries out happily, “I love you both, so much.”

The crowd laughs again, the joy radiating off of them and influencing everyone else’s.

“Appa, show him your ring!” Haneul excitedly reminds Hongjoong, causing Hongjoong to snap into action and reach into his jacket pocket.

“I’ve got a matching engagement ring,” Hongjoong explains, “would you like to put it on me, Wooyoung-ah?”

Wooyoung excitedly grabs the ring box and opens it up, “of course I’d like to put it on you, hyung!”

Wooyoung holds the ring out in his hand in awe, “you designed these, didn’t you?”

“I did,” Hongjoong laughs, “I hope you like them.”

“God, hyung, I love everything you make,” Wooyoung tuts, “how can this be any different? If anything I love this even more because I know you made it for us, for me.”

“I’m glad,” Hongjoong replies, holding out his hand, “now put the ring on me, Young-ah.”

Wooyoung slides the ring on Hongjoong’s finger, and they kiss again.

The crowd cheers just as loudly, and Haneul is jumping up and down excitedly—her two dads were finally going to get married!

Notes:

hello everyone! happy new year! i hope everyone had a good holiday season, and i truly hope that everyone here will have a good 2024. thank you so much for your support, even if i've been relatively inactive.

after this, i will probably take a break from writing multi-chaptered fics due to my inability to commit. i've still got a few multi-chaptered topaz fics in mind, such as a topaz pacific rim au and some topaz x baby xikers ideas, too. however, i do not think it will be feasible for me to commit to these ideas because i'm anticipating to have my hardest semester in uni. i'll try to write some topaz here and there, probably some shorter fics or some drabbles. but aside from that, i think i'll be writing more about my other fandom ships—originally, this account was made for my more mature and angsty fics, mainly ones that are focused on my anime ships. this was a far cry from my other ao3 account (if anyone's curious, it has got7, my ults, and then some nct/wayv and anime ships: kingnyoungie ) which was mainly focused on fluffier pieces. however, things changed and ateez took over my life, so this account turned into my more mature and angsty pieces, as well as the boyz and ateez. but in this 2024, i think i'll be posting other ships that aren't in the realm of kpop. namely, ive got a todobaku or bakutodo fic that's been a work in progress since 2021, that i want to post this 2024 (boku no hero academia or my hero academia). the brainrot for nanago (jjk) is also far too much sometimes ... i'm also itching to write something sapphic, specially for ningbei or beiguang (genshin impact) as i've been a casual player since 2021 as well, and i've always loved their dynamics.

if you're interested, these are the fandoms i plan to write for in 2024: boku no hero academia, genshin impact, sk8, jjk and of course, atz and tbz.

if any of you have ships in the fandoms i mentioned, let me know! i'd like some fellow enthusiasts to talk to for these fandoms :')) don't be shy!! unlike hongjoong, i don't bite.

anyways, thank you for supporting this fic! i truly do adore this fic and it's one of those fics that i write whenever i feel happy or i want comfort. to know that i can offer some sense of comfort and joy to you guys is so lovely. hope you enjoyed this and let me know your thoughts!
