Chapter 1: Enchanted Homecomings

Chapter Text

The front door opens before the door to the taxi had even been closed.

Jaime lifts her gaze to see Jeremy, Alpha of the North American Pack standing on the porch, a small smile on his lips. Jaime knew this was as close to a straight up grin she’d ever get from the man.

“How did you…” she starts, momentarily caught off guard by Jeremy’s quick and keen senses “Oh right, the werewolf senses. Jesus, two months away from you and I’m already starting to forget myself”

Picking up her bag, Jaime heads towards the front door. Jeremy chuckles lowly at the comment and unable to contain his anticipation, reaches from Jaime as she approaches, pulling her into a tight embrace and lowering his lips to hers kissing her passionately like a man starved. Jaime, initially surprised by the action, drops her bag to the floor and quickly reciprocates and returns the intensity of the kiss.

Eventually having to break for air, Jaime pulls back from Jeremy whilst still remaining locked within his arms. “Damn” she sighs with a grin “A welcome like that and you’ve still got me grinning like a schoolgirl and half weak in the knees”

Jeremy chuckled “I could think of some other things that might leave you like that too” a smirk lingering on his face.

Jaime returned the smirk, ideas in her mind flashing momentarily on her face. One small comment and her entire body was raring to go. “Hi” Jaime replies, voice breathy.

“I’ve missed you” Jeremy says, loosening his hold on her.

“God I missed Stonehaven. I mean don’t get me wrong the cities and hotels on the road have been great, but nothing beats this place” Jaime grins “Oh and a certain someone’s company of course”

Jeremy quirks an eyebrow at her “Only a certain someone?”

Jaime laughs “Ok and maybe a bit of the library and the supernatural ambience too”

Jeremy chuckles before moving to pick up Jaime’s long discarded bag and places a hand on the small of her back to guide her in to the house.

As they step in to the hall, Jaime’s senses are flooded with the familiar earthy smell of aged wood, her gaze falling on the large mahogany staircase with its bannisters worn smooth over the years. A wave of nostalgia and familiarity washes over Jaime, the warm ambient lighting seemingly welcoming her back.

“So” Jeremy says, pulling Jaime from her thoughts “anything exciting happen on the road?” Jaime shrugs off her jacket before hanging it on the rack by the door before turning back to Jeremy

“Oh you know, the usual - ghostly encounters, overly enthusiastic fans and few mishaps during shows. But hey I didn’t get myself kidnapped this time” she laughs “How’s life been without my added charm?”

Jeremy smirks “Quieter, that’s for sure. How was the city this time?” He says, dropping Jaime’s bag by the stairs making a mental note to take it upstairs later and heading towards the lounge ushering her to join him. Jaime follows after him, heels clicking on the hardwood floor.

“Enchanting” she says “but nothing beats coming back to a certain Alpha’s embrace”

Jeremy turns and raises his eyebrows, dark eyes lighting with a knowing spark and a smirk playing on his lips as he pulls her in to another warm and familiar hug. “You mean this one?”

Jaime nods as she relaxes in to the embrace “Yep, that’s the one”

“Now” Jaime said as they eventually untangled from the hug “Tell me everything I missed. Any supernatural surprises or god knows what waiting for me?” Jaime’s eyes sparkled with curiosity.

A small smile crept on to Jeremy’s face ever so slightly as he gestured towards the couch inviting Jaime to settle in “Plenty of stories to catch up on. Let’s start with a cup of tea shall we?”

Notes:

I haven’t written anything for YEARS! Like I’m talking at least 10. I’ve recently found myself re-reading the Otherworld series and it’s absolutely rekindled my love for Jaime/Jeremy. I just think they’re a really underrated couple tbh and I wish we’d gotten more of them (crying inside).

So I have to fill the void and lack of fics by writing one myself. Sad times.

Anyways, please feel free to comment, I’d love to hear from you guys. I will try to update regularly. Also pls forgive any spelling/grammar mistakes.
