Chapter Text

Chenle does not, in fact, beat Mark’s ass. Only because Jisung told him not to. (“He’s not worth your time, Lele. You’re better than that”) He’s lucky that Chenle doesn’t want to waste his energy on him.

Not much changes between the two best friends after they start dating (Jisung stuttered through asking him out that night after they left the karaoke place. Chenle makes fun of him for it but really he thinks it’s adorable). They go back to acting the way they did before. Meaning Jisung follows Chenle around like a lost puppy, and Chenle pretends like he doesn’t enjoy every second of it.

Their friends notice the lack of tension and are all relieved that they stopped fighting, but the two youngest fail to mention their new relationship status. They just assumed everyone would know. They always teased them before anyway, right?

(no one knew)

Things finally come to light at the same café it all started, (other Mark no longer works there), when the boys all get together to hang out.

“When are those two gonna get here?” Jaemin taps on the table and huffs as Renjun rolls his eyes.

“If you miss Jeno, just say it.”

The smaller boy easily dodges Jaemin’s attempt at throwing a napkin at him with a straight face, causing Mark to start laughing loudly, while Chenle snickers behind his hand.

“What’s so funny?” Jeno walks up and sits next to Jaemin, shooting Mark a confused face. Donghyuk just (aggressively) pats Mark on the back and shakes his head.

“Oh nothing, Markie here laughs at anything.”

Jeno nods with a chuckle. “That’s true.”

During this, Jisung walks up beside Chenle and ruffles his hair.

“Hey.”

Chenle swats his hand off. “Ew, don’t touch me. You’re gross.”

The taller just grins and sits down. “You love me though.”

Chenle scoffs playfully, “Tsk, as if.”

(If you were to pay attention to the way Chenle smiles to himself when he turns his head and then moves his chair closer to Jisung’s, you’d know he doesn’t mean it.)

At some point during the hangout, Mark and Renjun get into a, somehow, heated discussion about watermelon and Jisung starts to get bored.

“Hey Lele, can I borrow your phone? Mine died while I was at the gym.” Chenle huffs and hands him his phone.

“Maybe if you actually charged your phone for once, you wouldn’t keep having this problem.”

Jisung just happily takes the phone and unlocks it. He shoots the older a bright smile. “I know, thanks babe.”

Neither notice that the table has gone silent.

“Babe is cute, but when will you ever call me daddy?” Jisung shoots Chenle an exasperated look. “Chenle. I am not calling you daddy.”

Chenle throws his hands up and leans back. “You’re so mean. Literally the worst boyfriend in the world.”

Jisung rolls his eyes. “We’ve been over this before. Me not calling you daddy does not make me a bad boyfriend.” Chenle opens his mouth to argue, but is stopped by a hand on his arm.

The two youngest look over to see the whole table staring at them with expressions varying from shocked to confused. Jisung mirrors the confused face, while Chenle just looks bored.

“Pause. Babe? Boyfriend?” Renjun looks at Jisung, then Chenle in shock.

“Are you just gonna ignore the daddy part?” Donghyuk asks, sounding mostly amused.

Jisung just tilts his head. "Yeah? What about it?” He looks around at everyone again before turning back to Chenle, who just shrugs.

A look of realization crosses Jenos face, and he smacks the table, making Jisung flinch. “So when you were talking about that movie date while we were at the gym, you were talking about Chenle?”

The youngest just nods, still looking lost. “I thought you knew?”

Mark shakes his head. "No one knew? You didn’t tell us.”

Chenle finally leans forward. “Why should we have to tell you? You are always teasing us anyway, so we figured you’d just know. Get with the program, guys.”

Renjun just huffs. “We aren’t mind readers. Since when?”

Jisung and Chenle share a look before shrugging, “I think it’s been like two months?” Renjun’s mouth falls open.

“You guys have been dating for two months and didn’t tell anyone?”

Before either boy can respond, Jaemin suddenly snaps and points to Jisung, looking thrilled. “So when I had to give you advice, Chenle actually was jealous of that other guy?”

Jisung grimaces as Chenle’s face goes sour. "Ugh, hyung. don’t even mention him.”

His boyfriend’s response makes Jisung sigh. “Oh, come on, it wasn’t that bad.”

Chenle looks scandalized. “Sungie, he literally kissed you right in front of my salad.”

Mark snorts at that before realizing what the other said. “Wait...he kissed Jisung?” Chenle glares at the counter as if imagining the subject of his anger was there.

“Yep. He was on his lap and everything.”

Mark looks at Jisung in shock. “So your first kiss was with that guy?”

Everyone goes silent as they turn to the youngest. Chenle looking especially angry.

“That asshole was your first kiss?!” Jisung looks panicked and shakes his head no, causing the others to give him a puzzled look.

“So, who was your first kiss?” Jeno leans forward curiously.

Jisung looks over at Jaemin sheepishly before avoiding eye contact with everyone, and Jaemin hides a smile behind his hands.

Donghyuk lets out a delighted gasp as he points between them. "No... you two?” Jisung slowly nods his head yes, and the table erupts into chaos.

(“Seriously though, is no one gonna question the daddy thing?”

“Just let it go, Hyuk. Let it go.”)

Notes:

So here's the short lil epilogue! I always find this type of trope funny, so it was making me laugh as I read through it. Jaemin was Jisungs first kiss bc Jisung was embarrassed he hadn't kissed anyone yet, so Jaemin offered to kiss him to get it over with. It was just a peck but Jisung finds it embarrassing.

Chenle would make daddy jokes. When I first wrote this, he was really laying them on all the time which is why they ended up in this fic. Just felt fitting at the time. I don't watch as much Dreamie content lately (don't watch much of anything these days) so I'm not sure how he's been acting these days. anyway.

We made it! I'm happy I was able to edit and republish this fic (well the og is still out there just not under my name anymore. rip). I honestly have no idea why I orphaned it a while ago. I think I randomly got embarrassed about it? Idk it doesn't matter bc its back and better now.
I hope y'all liked this! I certainly enjoyed rereading it and editing it. I'm glad that those of you that read it the first time are enjoying it again! And I'm happy there's people reading it for the first time as well. All your comments have really cheered me up these days.

Have a good day/morning/night <3

Notes:

I hope you enjoyed this! If you think you read it the first time I posted it, then I hope this version has much better grammar and setup.

I'm gonna post the rest of the chapters slowly, like once or twice a week. I want to pretend I'm one of those fic authors that writes ahead of time and follows a schedule. Also I still need to edit the next chapters. Like, when I paste it on my new docs, it's awful. On the bright side. It makes me really see how much I've improved. If you can find the OG version then you can finish it ahead of time lol. Otherwise, this will be fully updated pretty quickly it's not a long fic.

Have a lovely day/night/morning <3
