Chapter Text
Cale opened his eyes, frowning as sunlight assaulted his eyes. After blinking for a while, Cale was able to open his eyes normally. For a few moments, Cale looked up at the roof of the sky. Trying to remember how he got back to his apartment.
Oh, right. Last night, he got into an argument with his father. He was sent to Korea, with the reason that he had to introspect because his attitude and behavior during the 9 years were very bad. His father thought that this could have a bad impact on his and his younger siblings' future. Of course, that wasn't the reason Cale was angry.
His father thought he was still a child and the reason for all his behavior so far was because he couldn't accept his new stepfamily. Courageously, his father told Cale to forget the past and become an adult. How funny, Cale thought. Because he felt like he was being accused of something wrong, of course Cale became annoyed and angry, ending up having his first fight with his father and running away after he finished talking.
At that time, Cale didn't have any other thoughts other than just wanting to run away and disappear from this damn world. Perhaps at one time, he cried in the rain. When he arrived at the beach, he thought maybe drowning would be better. The world and the Henituse’s family would be better off without him anyway. Well, at least that thought was dispelled once Cale met Kim Roksu.
Cale groaned while rubbing his face. His plan to run away that night had failed. It's all Kim Roksu’s fault!
Deep down, Cale was actually grateful that Kim Roksu was there.
"Young Master, it's impressive that you're already awake," said Ron with a smile. The man handed Cale a cup of cold water. Cale only remained silent for a moment before he tsked. Cale grabbed the cup and drank it in one gulp.
“Prepare my uniform,” Cale ordered after placing his cup on the table. He got out of bed and walked to the bathroom to wash his face.
“As you wish, Young Master.”
Cale looked at the seat next to him. He doesn't bother listening to the teacher explaining something about quantum? It's not like Cale cares for his own grade anyway.
Looking at his side, Kim Roksu seemed focused on listening to the teacher's explanation in front. He was wearing a rather (fairly) shabby uniform, does the uniform even get washed? Anyway, it is clear that Kim Roksu looks very hard working. Cale guessed that Kim Roksu could definitely get a scholarship.
When break time came, Cale pulled out his chair and sat next to Roksu. Roksu, who had been focused on his task, turned around. On Kim Roksu's face, his confusion was clearly visible with one of his eyebrows raised. After looking back, Cale realized that Kim Roksu himself was quite handsome.
“Do you need help?” Kim Roksu asked when Cale just stared at him silently all this time. Hearing that, Cale snapped from his inner question as to what Kim Roksu was doing on the beach last night. He then looked at Kim Roksu sharply.
"Why did you do it?" Cale asked seriously. Kim Roksu asked again, “Doing what?”
“Last night, Idiot. Why are you helping me?”
“I'm not helping you. I was just passing by there.”
“But you came to me.”
“Because you will report that I didn't help you. I don't want to get into trouble, thank you.”
Cale looked at him in disbelief. Does Kim Roksu think that Cale is a snotty brat who is spoiled like the stereotypical chaebol kid in novels?
"Hey! I am not-"
Ring!!
Cale was silent for a moment before gritting his teeth. “Whatever!” he exclaimed.
He returned to his seat, waiting for the teacher to come. He glanced and could see Kim Roksu who seemed to be exhaling, although faintly.
Cale frowned. Well, whatever happens, so be it. After all, it just so happened that Kim Roksu was there. There was no way that in the next attempt, Cale would fail to escape again just because Kim Roksu suddenly appeared again. That's right, just a coincidence.
"You must be fucking with me."
Cale looked at Roksu who was on the subway station bench. He then pointed at Kim Roksu rather rudely. "Hey! What are you doing here!?"
Kim Roksu also looked surprised to have met him. He shook his head slightly. "What are you doing?"
"Me?"
"Who else?" Kim Roksu asked, as if Cale was asking a stupid question. Yes, that was stupid, Cale admitted. There were only the two of them at the station this late.
"That was supposed to be my question. You first!" Cale exclaimed while folding his arms in front of his chest. He lifted his chin arrogantly, giving off the noble aura he had since childhood. Kim Roksu looked a little surprised but then answered honestly.
"I don't want to go home," answered Kim Roksu. Cale wanted to ask what happened but when he saw the scars surrounding Kim Roksu, he just fell silent. What were those scars, Cale wondered but decided it was not his business.
Cale looked around, then looked at the subway schedule. The last train will arrive soon. The train could take him as far away as possible, as far as possible so as not to be detected by the bodyguards his father had sent. Then, Cale looked at Kim Roksu again.
“….”
Cale let out a loud sigh. He glanced at Kim Roksu who was also looking at him. Ugh, just this once, he thought.
"You, come with me.”
Kim Roksu, who was confused, asked, "Where?"
“My apartment, where else?” Cale answered indifferently. Pulling Kim Roksu's hand, his eyes widened. "Why?" Roksu asked.
Cale glanced at him sharply. Kim Roksu felt as if Cale was judging him. And sure enough, a few moments later, Cale let out two words from his spicy mouth.
"You stink."
Kim Roksu frowned. Well, he might be. He hasn't taken a shower after all. Although, is it really okay to crash into someone else's place, especially when that person happened to be very rich? Plus, he didn't think he smelled that bad? Right?
“I’ll pay you and give you food.”
We can't just waste a fortune when there is one, right?
Cale's apartment was very spacious … and luxurious. Kim Roksu was immediately pulled in and pushed into the bathroom, forced by Cale to take a shower. Even though he was confused by the sudden invitation to play at a friend's house, Kim Roksu still complied. Besides, after taking a shower he really felt refreshed.
Not only that, he was also provided with food. There's meat, fresh fruits, salad, and many more! All the food was so delicious, it made Kim Roksu's mouth water thinking about what it would be like to be Cale who could eat all this delicious and luxurious food every day. Being a chaebol is truly a blessing!
After that, Kim Roksu was given an empty room to sleep. He, of course, didn't complain or comment on anything. It's crazy for him to refuse the softest mattress like this. What's more, it is free and he will get paid instead!
Well, even though one of Cale's servants was really scary. Kim Roksu swore that the old man named Ron was likely to kill him. Why did he not hear him walking in earlier? It's creepy.
That night, Kim Roksu fell asleep in Cale's apartment for the first time. It was also the start of their relationships.
