Mizuki suddenly pushed herself onto the other three, effectively forcing all three of them down as they all yelped before settling down into a huge cuddle pile of tangled limbs and love.
“Mizuki!” Ena whined as she pushed the younger girl off of her to get off Kanade to avoid suffocating their tiniest girlfriend, “I appreciate the gesture but you could’ve executed that more gently!”
“Sorry sorry!” Mizuki giggled as she threw an arm and leg over the three trying to get all four of them as close as possible, “I just missed you guys so damn much… and I’m pretty exhausted so…”
She closed her eyes, feeling content that finally everything was resolved… everything was falling back into place. All her loves were safe and sound here with her, and she could finally close her eyes and sleep…
But only if it was that easy.
She felt the bed shift and opened one of her eyes to peek at what was going on, only to see Mafuyu making her way to her side and Ena and Kanade moving as well, “What’s going on?”
No one said a thing as they gently maneuvered her to sit up and she was surrounded by them hugging her from all sides, causing her to giggle and melt into them. “Missed me?”
She teased, bringing her eyebrows up and down and giving Ena who was sitting directly in front of her a cheeky smile. Ena however didn’t return it, or even tease her back, she just looked at her with soft eyes and a small smile.
Leaning forward she placed her lips against Mizuki’s letting them settle there for a second, and another before pulling back and murmuring softly, “Thank you, baby.”
“Oh!” Mizuki flushed, realizing how her two other lovers were also looking at her tenderly, and she looked away in embarrassment feeling her cheeks heat up. “Aha! It-it’s nothing!”
Yet, Kanade shook her head in disagreement, softly cupping Mizuki’s cheek with her hands leaning forward to place a kiss on Mizuki’s nose, then another on her lips before murmuring, “We appreciate you so much, sweetheart.”
She giggled feeling Kanade press their foreheads together and look at her lovingly, and Ena’s hands laced with hers before she was broken out of her love-dazed trance as she yelped, someone picking her up from behind and manhandling them into their arms.
It was mafuyu -obviously- but despite that she giggled, leaning back into Mafuyu who started peppering kisses all over her shoulders and neck. “‘Fuyu! You really are a big baby with the way you’re handling me like a giant teddy bear.”
But Mafuyu paid her no mind as she grabbed her cheeks and turned her head to the side to kiss her too, letting it linger before peppering some on her cheeks as well.
“We really are grateful, you know?” the lyricists hummed, as the other two nodded along, “I don’t want to think about what could’ve happened if it weren’t for you.”
“We love you Mizuki,” Kanade added, taking Mizuki’s hands into hers while Ena leaned forward to give her another kiss.
They were all showering her with affection and attention, as gratitude for her help and to spoil their youngest lover. She was giggling in delight, and it was the cutest sound they could ever hear, as she squirmed around to shy away from the kisses.
“... I love you all too, so so much.” She finally whispered, face flushed a gentle content smile on her face, “I hope we can stay like this for a long time, forever too if it’s possible.” Her voice was melancholic, but they didn’t let doubts cloud her mind for too long.
“And we will.” The composer reassured, "Let's always talk things out okay?" "And no running away anymore," Kanade added, glaring slightly at both Ena and Mizuki who looked away bashfully.
They settled back down to cuddle on the bed, and as Mafuyu spooned Kanade again she suddenly asked, “Anything you need Mizu?”
The pinkette was quiet, contemplating before whispering, “Just stay with me okay? I was scared to lose you, any of you so please...”
"And you won't Mizuki, we are sorry about today." The brunette hummed, playing with MIzuki's soft locks gently.
The pinkette smiled before yawning loudly,
“Let's sleep soon? We all had an emotionally exhausting day I think we should all sleep. I’ll stay home tomorrow, Ena and Kanade can you take a break from work tomorrow?” She looked hopeful, especially since her two lovers were working remotely from home and could manage their own schedules.
She received two eager nods before smiling, however, it dimmed slightly when she realized Mafuyu might not be able to spend time with them. However, as if the elder girl could read her mind, Mafuyu added,
“I’m off work tomorrow too.”
“Really?!” Ena gasped, “How so?”
“I took the rest of the month off, I was allowed after covering up so many shifts overtime.”
“That’s wonderful!” The composer celebrated, happy to have all her lovers with her tomorrow.
“… I wanted to spend more time with Kanade and my last shift made me feel horrible enough so I needed the break. I wanna take care of Kanade and give her all my attention while I nurse her back into health.” Mafuyu started, reaching to bring both Kanade and Ena closer to Mizuki so they all tangled up together again, "Since your mom's memorial is next week, I want to be there with you in every second leading up and post that, I'll always be there with you, I won't leave you alone."
“Thank you Mafuyu.” Kanade hummed softly, gratitude and love painted all over her face as she was smiling, watching the elder girl continue,
“Also Ena… I knew that your exhibition is soon so I wanted to be there to support you and make sure your health is being taken care of, as well as visit it at the end of the month with you to support you.”
The brunette giggled, thanking the lyricists too who gave her a soft smile before squeezing Mizuki close to her,
“And finally, Mizuki. I noticed you have been looming around us when we are home and picking up extra shifts when we are busy. I think… You’ve been feeling lonely so I wanted to keep you company as well.”
“Oh…” Mizuki gasped softly, not even picking that up on herself before giggling, “You’re so observant Yuki but… yeah I guess you’re right. Thank you for thinking of us all the time.”
The purple-haired girl shook her head, “It’s nothing… you guys are everything to me.”
“And you are everything to us too Mafuyu…” Kanade murmured, and Ena leaned over Mizuki to place a kiss on Mafuyu’s cheeks.
They all lay back down, breathing in each other’s presence and letting it drown them in the safety and security of being together. Right before they all started to snooze into sleep, Mafuyu suddenly jumped up alerting them all.
“Mafu?! What’s wrong?” The brunette was the first to question, sitting up and helping the two others up as well.
The purple-haired girl however only ran out of the room muttering a quick, ‘I need to show you guys something.’
They all sat up curiously, Kanade crawling to sit in Mizuki’s arms and lying against the taller girl while trying to force herself up. She was the sleepiest by now but she wanted to stay up for whatever her elder girlfriend needed to show her.
Mafuyu came back, with the back she carried to the hospital every day throwing it onto the bed, before hopping on the bed too.
She opened it, digging trying to find something while her three other lovers looked at her with so much confusion… just what the hell was she trying to find?
Her eyes lit up slightly, as she pulled out a pouch that Ena recognized was one Shizuku bought for her.
They stared at her curiously as she rummaged through it before finally pulling out something and holding it straight in front of her to where the other three sat down. It was…
“... A red ribbon?” Ena asked confused, crossing her arms as she stared with disbelief, No way Mafuyu cut off their sleepy time to show her a red ribbon.
“It’s… No way!” However, her head shot to the left to see Mizuki’s surprised one, who was smiling hard as she asked, “Is this the one I made you when you first moved to Kanade’s house?!”
“It is,” Mafuyu nodded, holding it gently in her hand before tracing it softly, “It’s the one you gifted me… I still keep it.”
Mizuki nodded happily while Mafuyu continued, “I just want you to know I miss you too and always keep a piece of you with me because I dearly love you too.”
“Awh Mafuyu…” The younger girl giggled, blushing slightly while burying her face into the top of Kanade’s head shyly, watching Mafuyu dig around in the poach.
She pulled out a folded piece of paper, gently unwrapping it before turning it around and murmuring, “Kanade…”
“Huh?” The composer said, opening her eyes at the mention of her name, blinking a little before squinting, “What is- Oh.”
It was… “Is that...”
The sleep washed off of her and she pushed herself off of Mizuki’s chest to grab the paper in her hands, eyes studying it before she looked up to Mafuyu in shock, down at the paper and up at Mafuyu again.
“Wh-what is it?” Ena hummed curiously peeking from over Kanade’s shoulder to look at it, “A music sheet?”
“No it’s the,” There was a bright smile on Kanade’s face as she folded it gently and placed it back into the poach before hugging Mafuyu close, “Thank you so much.”
“It’s nothing,” Mafuyu hummed, placing a kiss on the side of Kanade’s temple, stroking her sides tenderly. She looked up to see a frustrated Ena before sighing, “What?”
“Aren’t you going to tell poor lil’ us what it is?!” The fashion designer whined in exasperation, falling back into the bed for the very much-needed dramatic measure.
The composer giggled at that before leaning back from the hug to pat Mizuki’s exposed tummy and confirming, “It’s the melody my dad wrote for my mom in the music box… I thought I had lost it, but I’m so glad Mafuyu has kept it all this time.”
“That’s so lovely!” The brunette smiled before realization struck her, “Oh! Will this help you remember something so you can compose a song for your mom’s memorial?”
“Yes,” Kanade smiled, turning around to kiss her lyricists before smiling at her gently, “Thank you so much for this.”
Again, the elder girl shook her head before smiling softly, “It’s nothing.”
Finally, she rummaged through the poach before grabbing the final item. She turned around to face Ena fully, a determined look on her face.
Ena eyed it, crossing her arms in curiosity as she watched Mafuyu unfold it. The nurse paused and looked up at her girlfriend before saying, “I hope… this will help you, like you’ve helped me in my journey before. I’m sorry for today and I promise to try and get better for you, so here.”
And with that she handed it to Ena to let her do the final unfold. Ena had an eyebrow raised up as she took it warily, unfolding it to reveal-
“Oh…” Her lips parted in surprise, staring at the artwork before looking up at Mafuyu with so much love and gratitude.
It was the portrait she drew of Mafuyu years ago, Mafuyu kept it.
“You art was never trash, it never was and never will be.” Mafuyu affirmed as she unfolded more papers and handed them to Ena. All of them were old drawings Ena did for Nightcord music videos and album covers. “They are all so beautiful and I've been cherishing them for so long.”
“You art beautiful, and so are you. You're a wonderful artist and an even more wonderful girlfriend, and I love you. I’m sorry for everything and… I just love you so much.”
“Oh mafuyu,” Ena whined, leaning forward to wrap her arms around Mafuyu, “I love you so much too, I don't even know what to say.”
She squeezed the other girl tighter in her arms before asking, “... Can I display these in my exhibition?”
“Of course,” Mafuyu hummed, rubbing soothing circles on her back before whispering bashfully, “As long as you return them after though…”
It caused them all three to giggle, their purple-haired girlfriend was known to be possessive over her items, which they found cute and endearing hence Ena snorted and pushed Mafuyu away playfully, “Yes your majesty, I'll frame them for the exhibition and give you them back in perfect condition.”
Mafuyu nodded happily like a puppy, so Ena ruffled her purple locks and kissed her one last time before plopping down near Mizuki.
“Come here Kanade, Mafuyu, let's all cuddle and sleep for real this time, yeah?” Ena yawned, snuggling into Mizuki, spooning her from behind as she the younger girl spooned Kanade into her own and Mafuyu snuggled behind Kanade.
Ena reached behind her, turning off the only lamp that was laminating the room before smiling, “Goodnight, I love you three so much…”
“We love you too,”
“We really love you too,”
“We love you so much too!”
She smiled at that, seeing the youngest two cuddle in the middle, and Mafuyu nuzzle into the Kanade’s hair seemingly already asleep. As Ena's eyes were closing she peeked at the clock behind Mafuyu,
25:00…
She smiled, the light had always shone at 25:00,
And they will continue to find each other at 25:00.
