Chapter Text
“THAT WAS FANTASTIC!!” Kyojuro declared, beaming in his seat.
After two long hours, the movie had come to an end. And what a movie it was! Of all the Monsterverse films, it was by far the most action packed. As to be expected, Uzui and Rengoku absolutely ate it up.
“Damn right it was!” Tengen grinned. “And Godzilla’s totally shredded now! Did you see his waistline? Those flashy pink spikes?!”
“That’s true, but Kong was certainly the main character.” Muichiro commented.
Throughout the film, Kong was undoubtedly the central focus. And even though the films still weren’t his favorite…he couldn’t deny their merit.
“Yeah! And Mini-Kong was super cute! Well, when he wasn’t being a meanie…” Mitsuri chimed.
Mitsuri liked the film well enough; even if some of the monster fights got a little gorey.
“You kidding? That little freak was the best part!” Sanemi chuckled. He was admittedly surprised by the film, it was honestly pretty kickass!…until the human characters showed up, anyways. “Plus that Skar King ape was sick!”
“I liked that Mothra returned.” Shinobu spoke up.
She didn’t have much to say about the film. It was about what she expected; a bunch of giant monsters fighting. But she wouldn’t pretend she didn’t like seeing Mothra be reborn.
“I’m glad you all liked it.” Gyomei spoke up. Television didn’t do much for him. His senses didn’t pick up on light, so he couldn’t really watch the film. It was just noise really.
“Not all of us.”
“What? Not a fan, Iguro??” Kyojuro asked, his jaw agape.
“Minus One was miles ahead of this schlock-fest.” Obanai puffed indignantly. He wasn’t very fond of the film—a bunch of annoying people, broken up by giant cgi monster battles. Not much to get emotionally invested in.
“Well, I thought it was great.” Tengen puffed. Then he remembered… “WAIT! Tomioka!!”
“Yeah?” Giyu asked indifferently.
“Who do you think would win? Godzilla, or Kong?”
It was finally the moment of truth, and with the new film, there was a lot to consider. Godzilla had evolved, and was stronger, faster, and had a greater Atomic Breath. But Kong still had his axe, and now he had a large, mechanical gauntlet! During their fight. The Kaiju were evenly matched. But for the hashira, Giyu would decide the winner…
“I think Shimo would win.” Giyu answered truthfully.
“WHAT?!”
“HUH?!”
Both Tengen and Kyojuro were stunned. Shimo wasn’t even a contestant! She was some new Titan who showed up halfway into the film and barely contributed to the plot!!
“She was bigger than either of them, and her Ice Breath nearly took Kong down.” Giyu explained. “Plus, she held her own fine against Godzilla.”
“But that’s because she was under Skar King’s control!!” Kyojuro puffed, the Hashira’s heated debate continuing all the way to their van. If nothing else, it was certainly a fun night for the pillars…and, the demons who went to see the movie.
“Are they gone?…” A cold voice asked.
“Yes, Lord Muzan, they’re gone.” A pale demon child answered, watching from around a corner.
“That was too close, Rui.” Muzan growled. “If they find us, it could compromise our entire plan!”
“At least the movie was good.” Rui responded.
Muzan Kibutsuji simply sighed, walking with the child,”Let’s head back to the house.”
