Chapter Text

The days that followed until Kaminari recieved his acceptance letter to UA were very mundane and quiet. He spent the time reading some of the latest issues of some magazines he'd picked up from a shop down the street from his apartments. His mind had completely slipped when it came to the idea that he was supposed to have either an acceptance or denial letter coming in the mail within the following days.

He was more focused on tidying his place finally, since he'd spotted a bug and that finally put him into action. He'd made a trip to the store the day after the exam and picked up some supplies and a new mop, as well as some trash bags and rags, as he didn't have many of those lying around his place, that he could find at least. With the intent to have the place looking somewhat spotless finally, he spent the next day and a half doing nothing but cleaning, organizing, and throwing things away.

Sanitizing everything was very important to him, especially knowing that at some point, bugs had crawled around and it made him shiver just thinking about it.

’You made this mess, Denki, you can't let it get worse or it just means you don't have it in you to do anything right, let alone hero work.’ he thought to himself, before sighing as he hauled two of the remaining three bags of trash downstairs to the dumpster.

“Finally, damn. One left and then I am done. Absolutely no more cleaning for me.”

He wiped his hands on his baggy black pants and made the tiring run back upstairs to his apartment, grabbing the last bag and repeating what he just did, before finally coming up for the final time and closing the door to his apartment, leaning on the door and sliding down against it, sighing in an exhausted manner.

He sat there for awhile, probably thinking about how early he'd call it quits tonight, although his thoughts were cut short when he felt something fall through the slot in his front door, sliding off his spiked hair and landing conveniently in his lap.

“Wha-”

He stammered for a moment, looking at the envelop in his lap, before picking it up and glancing at it closely. It had a bit of weight to it. Maybe something important. He didn't know what it could be till he spotted the 'UA' logo on the mailing adress and it clicked.

Seeing that, he stood up quickly and stumbled a little, the envelope in one hand and his other hand grasping his hair tightly.

“HOLY CRAP- THIS- No shot this is real, this has gotta be some sort of mistake-”

He looked the envelop over, spotting the mailing adress again, and his name adressed on it, which made him let out a breathless sigh and he ran over to the counter in his kitchenette, ripping the envelope open and dumping the imternal contents onto the surface of the counter.

Some sort of disk fell out. That was probably the weight he'd been feeling. There was also a paper, but he was more curious about the disk. There was some sort of flashing dot on it and he ran his thumb over it. It was a bump, somewhat like a button.

“This is way to fucking cool to be real..”

He hesitated for a moment before pressing his thumb down on the button and taking a deep breath, watching as a projection of some sort played out in front of him. Who was on the projection was important, all Kaminari cared about was the fact that he absolutely DID get accepted into UA. The excitement was too great. He had no words basically. God only knows what was going through his head. Thoughts running at a million miles a second. He needed to call his mom and tell her the great news, oh god this was amazing. All his hard work really paid off.

’Maybe that cool looking girl got in as well,’ he thought, before swallowing hard. Why was he thinking about this, he needed to be celebrating !

He cleared his throat and ran to his room, leaving the now finished projection disk on the counter as well as the physical notice of acceptance. He returned with a black leather coat and grabbed the keys to the apartment of the rack by the door, heading out of the apartment. He would spend the rest of his day celebrating his acceptance, calling his mom, and having a bit of a shoping spree for things he might need for the classes.
