Chapter Text

November 13th, 2003..

Kaveh woke up early in the morning. The sun was just rising up. The sunlight seeped through the blinds, and he put them up. Today was a bright, and beautiful dawn. A dawn where he’d soon meet up for a date. “Alhaitham..” Kaveh thought to himself. “I hope I look good enough when I get there..” He brushed his long, luscious locks of blonde hair. Maybe today would be a good date. Kaveh then picked the clothes he thought would be right. Maybe a nice cozy sweater and some low rise jeans could do it. Along with that, he added the last touch with a beret. Once he was done putting on his attire, he looked at his calico-tabby cat. The gentle feline looked toward Kaveh, his eyes twinkling in wonder. “Lately, you’ve been a bit more clingy than usual, Mehrak…” The cat purred, and nuzzled its soft fur against Kaveh’s clothes. It almost made him feel a little guilty to leave. “I’ll be back home soon, Mehrak.. Don’t worry..” And so he exited through the door and found himself out of his apartment building.
The air was cool and crisp, and the autumn colored leaves fell delicately to the ground. Kaveh stayed on the sidewalks, thinking to himself. “I wonder what Alhaitham will wear.. But I’m more than confident that he’ll look more entrancing than yesterday..” Kaveh was nearing the park, and admired the vividness of the city. It was walks or moments like this that made him feel true tranquility. He was almost at the park, and he walked toward it. But he froze up for a moment as he saw Alhaitham waiting on a park bench. He clutched onto a coffee, and wore only the most exquisite and graceful clothing. It was only expected of a rich businessman. Kaveh then realized the gap that really stood between them. He was just a prostrated novelist, while Alhaitham was a proficient and resourceful businessman. It was almost like they were in two different worlds, yet Kaveh didn’t want the bond that they had junctured yesterday to be severed.

He then mustered up the courage to walk toward Alhaitham, nearly trembling apprehensively. Alhaitham smiled at him, with the same expression of delectation. Oh how Kaveh loved his precious smile. The smile that lit up his world and made him feel like he could do anything. Alhaitham then greeted him. “Good morning, Kaveh.. I must say.. you look quite stunning today..” He said with a hint of admiration. Kaveh’s face crimsoned a bit, but he also replied. “Awh.. Thank you.. It’s not much.. But if anything, you look really handsome..” Alhaitham answered Kaveh and reassured him as his arm went around his shoulders. “Well, I for one believe you are the most magnificent being that I have ever laid eyes upon..” Kaveh slightly pouted, but accepted the compliment. Each word he spoke with his soft and breathy tone only made Kaveh’s heart race even faster. “I’m sure you don’t really mean it.. But.. Thank you for saying that..”

Alhaitham chuckled, “Mhm.. I only speak the truth.. Haha.. But anyway..” He beckoned over to share his coffee with Kaveh. “Your favorite coffee wasn’t available, so I’m hoping you would like to share this coffee with me.. Only if you’d like..” Kaveh was flattered, especially at the fact that Alhaitham tried to get him his favorite coffee. But it made his face redden even more at the thought of sharing it. “How thoughtful of you.. Alhaitham..” Kaveh said almost feebly. He sipped a little, and it tasted delightful. His unoccupied hand was interlocked with Alhaitham’s, evoking feelings of warmth and earnestness. Kaveh felt like he could fly. “Thank you so much, Al.. I appreciate it a whole lot..” Alhaitham was only pleased to see Kaveh so content with himself. “Anything for you, Kaveh..”

And the next thing he knew, their gazes met each other’s. Alhaitham’s lush, gleaming emerald eyes looked into Kaveh’s radiant ruby eyes. The two would love for such a moment in time to last forever. To stay in its ever fleeting beauty and preciousness. The next thing the two knew, Alhaitham’s lips were on Kaveh’s.. The kiss that brightened their worlds and truly connected them together. Kaveh always wrote about scenes like this, but it felt so much more ethereal to be experiencing it for himself. What was once the romance he dreamt and wrote about was finally real. It was authentic, and more so life-changing.
Alhaitham looked to Kaveh with an expression of perturbation. He worried and his thoughts were mixed all over. “I hope I didn’t act too fast, Kaveh.. I just don’t want to lose this connection..” Kaveh looked at him, and laughed a little. “No, you didn’t.. It was just perfect.. I only feel amazing with you, Al.. It’s a feeling that I’ve never felt with anyone else except you..” Alhaitham was relieved to hear those words because he only felt the same. “I only feel the same exact way, Kaveh.. May I ask you something..?” Kaveh replied, “Go on ahead, ask me anything..” Alhaitham, “I know it’s a bit quick.. But, I’d like to figure out where we both stand in our relationship as of now.. So, I’d like to commit myself to dating you.. Only if you’re willing to as well..”
Those words remained for a few seconds and created a silence. Kaveh felt butterflies all over, and he knew the right words to say. “Of course, Alhaitham..” He said lovingly.
