Chapter Text
-Prologue-
It was a dark night, only thing you could see was two people running through the dense forest, one with a lamp one with a child. Both out of breath, not stopping because they know what waits for them if they do. Behind them you can hear shouts of anger, “Stop right there!” “You can’t run forever” the voices. The man turned around and shot a fireball the size of a bear at them, trying to slow them down as the couple had reached a fork in the road. “You have to go, run far away, I can only hold them off for so long, so please Adra” he pleaded with her to leave him to deal with the soldiers.
”No, I can’t! You know what will happen to you once they catch up! I won’t risk it”, she tried to reason with him. He paused and walked closer, hugging her with all of his strength to somehow push his love through the hug. “I know my love…but it’s the only way to keep you Lusa safe. I don’t want her growing up used as a weapon and I know that I may not have been the best father to her but I know I can make it up to her now”, he let go of Adra and took a few steps back urging her to leave him.
They can start to hear the soldiers yelling again, it a sounds that could haunt anyone throughout their dreams. “Fine, but you have to promise that you’ll try your hardest to survive. And that one day you and I can find each other again and be happy as a family”, Adra had given up on fighting him about leaving, she knew that he wouldn’t stop trying to sacrifice himself just to save his family. Zo started to walk in the direction of the soldiers, “We will meet again my love. Whether I make it through this, or it’s in another life. I swear to you that I won’t let us be apart forever. So live Adra, live your life and keep Lusa safe. Help her grow, don’t let her be afraid of her fire, it’s apart of her and she should be one with it. I love you”
Adra couldn’t help the tears that poured down her face, “I love you too Zo, in another life someday we will meet” and with that she turned away and ran. Forever haunted by the sounds of her beloved husband yelling in agony.
