Chapter Text
Phil was a bit worried. Where did Tallulah wander off to this time? Maybe she saw a pretty flower? A new bird perhaps?
Nope. A cat. She had found a random stray cat and decided to grab it.
- Guess we don't have that one yet!- The old bird joked, as his newly returned daughter lifted the stray to show him.
Lullah also attempted to show her newfound critter to her brother, but to her dismay, Chayanne didn't went with the cat's vibe.
-"idk sis. I have a gut feeling it won't go well"- the little warrior wrote on his signs.
As the siblings discussed the role of a cat on a bird's house, Philza discussed amused with Brian, that with all their collective voices, started to say "Pookie" repeatedly, or "cat", or "gato", or one million other little things Brian tended to say that didn't made any sense but Philza responded to anyway. Sometimes he wondered if he even had a choice. He did. So he taped Brian's beak temporarily because the constant "cat cat cat cat cat" he started to repeat was already starting to annoy.
Phil turned his head in time to see Chayanne threatening the cat with a stick. Or at least shaking the stick at the unimpressed cat.
-Hoi. Put that thing down, king. It's okay. Lullah's happy isn't she? The cat didn't attack her anyway. It's fine- Phil reassured his son, patting gently the egg's head.
Chayanne wasn't very sure. Something was off on that cat. His eyes weren't very normal either. What appeared to be supposed to be green was grey, a dirty and cold grey. As if something was canceling out the warm yellow on them.
But he didn't wanted to hurt Tallulah. She seemed so enthusiastic about the cat! So he begrudgingly dropped the stick.
-"fine. But if he kills Brian it's not on me"- Chay wrote
So now, there they stood, back at home, staring at the acquired cat, that only now started to react to them.
It didn't seem happy, hissing at everyone. But at least it was active, instead of the perpetually unimpressed face. It looked like it was downloading before.
Lullah decided to call the cat "Pookie", due to Brian's insistence. She thought it fitted him. Pookie didn't seem to awnser to it but he sadly didn't had a choice.
Next step was trying to feed Pookie. Tallulah insisted on it, besides the cat clearly not trusting anyone anymore, hiding under the kitchen table.
-"I found him trying to catch fish on the water. He must be hungry"- Lullah wrote.
-"it's not taking the fish and I'm not wasting my ingredients on it"- Chay wrote back.
So, while they both argued and Philza tried to calm his kids down, Pookie ran from that madhouse like his life depended on it.
