Chapter Text
“We should let Marcel know.” Camille brought up. She knew son and father were going through their own troubles but the prince belonged to the family. Marcel was also her friend so she wanted to share the happy news with him.
“Not yet.” A troubled look formed on his face, “only my siblings can know until I weed out all my enemies.”
She understood why he was thinking like that, through the years listening to his stories she knows he has a lot of enemies but she doesn’t want to be suspicious of her friends. People that have been with her through everything that happened in New Orleans. She wouldn’t treat them with suspicion.
“They’re my friends, Klaus.”
“Let’s not fight about this.”
She sighed, “this is not about starting a fight I just want to let them know than to find out later.” Worry gnawed at her. Everything inside her told her that it’d be a good decision to take. As Eve said the siblings will be strong together but Camille also knows that if the family is complete they’ll be a lot stronger.
Cars whizzed by as they neared the compound, “let’s talk about it later.” Camille knew when to pick bones with him and right now it could wait. They were both in a good mood so she didn’t want to ruin it but she’d make sure to bring up the topic later.
Entering the compound Klaus with his superior hearing knew that Elijah was there. Rebekah wasn’t here though but he already wanted to share the news with Elijah. His younger sister wouldn’t be happy to know that she was the last one to find out from the siblings but she should have been here then.
“Let me help you.” Klaus told Camille. In her state he wanted her to be careful and not do anything but knowing Camille she still wanted to be independent. “I can do this, you should go to your brother.” She knew that she wanted to share it with him.
Klaus and Elijah’s relationship would always fascinate her. They could fight each other but they’ll stand together against anyone.
“I’ll stay here with her so just go.” He hesitated for a few seconds, giving Camille a glance before leaving the room.
“I really hope he won’t be this overbearing during the whole pregnancy.” Freya chuckled at the comment.
“I think we both know that this is the start.” Both blonds knew this was true even though the pregnant one didn’t want to face the reality.
“How was the check-up?” Elijah asked his younger brother. The brother opened a bottle and poured a drink for him and Elijah. Klaus gave the glass to his brothers. “It went well but we encountered a surprise.”
Elijah raised a brow, “is Camille fine?” The ever noble Elijah, of course he’d ask that. He and Camille had gotten a lot closer during the time they spent together watching over Hope. Klaus questioned their relationship but Camille was his and his brother knows that.
“Nothing bad happened.” Well he wouldn’t mind since Klaus wanted to shed some frustration away but didn’t want Camille in harm's way.
“Then do tell me what happened.”
He looked his brothers in the eyes, “we’re expecting twins.” His brother’s cool facade faltered, “that’s amazing news for the family.” Klaus was the only one of his siblings that was able to sire children and it saddened him but he didn’t show it to anyone.
“Indeed.” He let out a breath out, “only we will be aware, on a later date I will let the others know.”
“And who are the others?”
“Everyone that’s not a Mikaelson sibling.” Elijah agreed with his younger sibling. He might not be as paranoid as him but he worries that this sacred information will get in the wrong hands. Hope being a loop out of nature was already a lot for the supernaturals but with twins in the mix now, Elijah fears for the unborn babies and Camille.
“We’ll need to start planning and we need allies.”
“We can barely trust anyone.” Klaus grumbled, “and whose fault would that be?” Elijah asked. With Klaus being volatile no one wants to put up with him.
“You need to start mending the relationships if we want them to fight in a war with them and you can start with Hayley.” At the name of his daughter’s mother he frowned, “have you mended your relationship with her?”
“This is not about me.” Elijah answered, adjusting his cufflinks.
“Big brother now you’re evading the question.” Elijah knew he had to keep his cool whenever he was with his brother but instances like this it was very hard not to snap but that’s not who he was so he took whatever Klaus told him.
“You haven’t answered mine thus I have no obligation to answer yours.” He answered. Klaus didn’t want to face the reality but he knew he had to start with Hayley not for himself but for Hope and Camille would also appreciate it. He’d score more brownie points with it.
He needs to start preparations before his enemies find out about this. It happened with Hope and he didn’t want it to happen with the ones on the way.
“We’ll be heading out to the bayou tomorrow.” Those were the parting words before I went to check on Hope. Her eyes were open as I grabbed her, standing next to the window I murmured to her while caressing her.
Looking at her I wondered if her siblings would look like her.
Hope, a mix of Hayley and me. At the thought of her mother I knew it wouldn’t be easy to get her on my side after all that had happened but I hope her friendship with Camille will soften her up.
A mix between Camille and me, I wondered how it’d look like.
The moment she stepped in the room I sensed her, turning around to face her, “I will never surprise you.” She tells me.
Waiting until she’s close enough I tug her towards me.
Her attention is not on me as she focuses on Hope, she gives my daughter a few kisses and mutters soft words to her but with my superior hearing I understand everything. Hope likes the attention she’s getting.
“She needs her mother, Klaus.” The blond looks at me with a stern look. I see how she lays a hand on her stomach. The maternal instincts must be kicking in.
“Camille, don’t you ever work on turning off your therapist side.” I tell her, tugging her closer to me, “and I’m working on it.”
“I’ll take any chance I can get and what do you mean you’re working on it?” She grabs Hope from me and seeing Hope in Camille’s arms does something to me. The family we have is truly expanding.
“Don’t worry your head about it.”
“That certainly doesn’t help.” I can’t help the smirk that comes on my face.
“I’ll tell you that we will be heading to the bayou tomorrow.”
“You should take Hope with you, Hayley would love to see her.” She tells me, that’s not a bad idea but I don’t want my daughter anywhere near those mutts but I need to start from somewhere but there’s no way I’ll stay long.
“I might do that.” Her attention had already strayed away from me as she focused on Hope. The sight of them made me content, a feeling I had to savor for the future might not be like that.
