Chapter Text
Saiki and Teruhashi were a terrifying duo. They were both intelligent, and where Saiki was strong, Teruhashi was manipulative. Her enemies never saw her coming before it was too late. They ran their mafia with ruthless efficiency, and were quickly climbing the rank in the crime world. That was why it was a such a surprise when a group had the audacity to attack them in their own base, where they were best armed. Truly, some people were just stupid. As soon as the group, who admittedly had good armour, bulletproof vests and all, entered the base, Aren, Nendo, and Hairo had the first three on the ground. "Should we kill them?" Aren asked.
"Let's see what they have to say first." Saiki said, flipping one onto the ground. "State your business." Saiki spat.
"We are from the government, so killing us wouldn't end well for you. Also, we have an offer for you, and it involves money, lots of money." the guy said.
"I'm listening." Saiki said, though he still refused to let the man up. For all he knows, he could be lying. The man handed him an envelope with the government's official seal on. At least that's what it looks like. "Akechi." He beckoned over his childhood friend over. "Make sure this is real>" Akechi nodded and compared the seal to a copy he had of the real one.
"It's legit." Akechi informed him.
"What does the letter say?" Saiki asked. Akechi read it. "Apparently, Mokoto has gone off the grid, and they want us to find him, since he's probably trying to cause trouble. Since we've gone against Mokoto and won, and his sister works with us, they think we can find him and stop him."
"What do you think?" Saiki asked Teruhahsi, who had another one of the men pinned down.
"Whilst I never want to see him again, if he's stirring up trouble, we're the best ones to find him."
"Fine." Saiki let the man up.
-
Teruhashi had blocked her brother's number, but unblocked him and texted him. "Hey, can we meet up?" Anyone else in Mokoto's position would have not even bothered answering, but Mokoto was crazy for his sister. "I'm to meet him in the abandoned warehouse on 5th street at midnight." Terhuahsi informed Saiki.
"We'll all be there so that he doesn't try something." Saiki said.
"Thank you."
"You should rest, this evening will be busy."
"Only if you join me." Teruhashi smiled, and beckoned Saiki to lay down next to her in their bed. They'd gotten close enough in their relationship to sleep in the same bed, but not enough to actually sleep together. They had no time, being a mafia leader was a busy job. And being physically vulnerable with someone was neither of their specialities. Saiki laid down next to her, and they stayed like that for quite a while.
-
It was midnight when Teruhashi went to meet Mokoto. The warehouse was filled with nothing but empty boxes, two chairs, a table, and a rose. Gross. "Hello, brother, what have you been up to?"
"Wouldn't you like to know? Tell you what, if you join my gang, I'll tell you."
"Considering how you view me, I'll have to decline."
"And how to I view you?"
"Like the object of your attraction. I don't know if you know this about women, but they don't like being objectified."
"Isn't that how Saiki views you?"
"Saiki views me as an equal, hence why we are partners in the gang, not a boss and secretary."
"I'd make you a partner in the gang. And I believe Saiki only wants you for your beauty and body."
"Not that it's any of your business, but we haven't slept with each other."
"If I tell you what we're planning will you join me?"
"I'll consider it."
"We're going to hack the government's database. We are going to kidnap a hacker who can do it."
"Which hacker?"
"I'm not that stupid. Are you joining or not?" Mokoto wanted Teruhashi to join him, whether it was as a double agent or not, he didn't care.
"Well, I've considered it, and no, I won't be joining. Saiki?"
Saiki, and several government agents came out from behind the tied boxes. "Guards!" Mokoto shouted, and several of his guards showed up. A standoff.
-
Saiki and Teruhashi managed to get away unscathed, but so did Mokoto. But now they knew his plan. The question was, who was the hacker? Only a few hackers could potentially hack the government's database. "Are there any hackers on your team?" One of the government agents asked. "Shit, Akechi!" Saiki was running. What if this was a diversion to kidnap Akechi?
They got to the base, and it was in ruins. The front wall had collapsed. Inside, Aren, Nendo and Hairo were fixing the wall. "Boss!" Aren shouted. "They took Akechi! Or rather, Akechi went with them to make them stop destroying the base, and killing us. He saved us."
"Shit!" Saiki rarely lost his temper. He had witnessed Akechi's childhood bullying first hand, and he knew what becasuse of that that Akechi would not hold up well under torture. He'd break quick, if Mokoto knew how to push the right buttons. Saiki prayed he didn't, but praying could only do so much. "We need to storm his seafront base, to see if he's there. Akechi could defiantly hack the government's base with the right tools. What does the government have that Mokoto wants?" He asked the agent.
"Lots of stuff, but he either wants weapons, or information."
"I don't like my brother, but I know him. What he wants, more than anything, is fame and money. He wants to make a statement that will get people to know his name. Is there a powerful weapon that would cause either unique or large scale damage? Or an upcoming event with lots of people - important people?" Teruhashi asked. The agent looked surprised at her efficiency. Saiki smiled to himself.
"There's a meeting with representatives from over 100 counties. If he wanted to make a statement, that's where he'd make it."
"Then he'll want Akechi to find the location, and time. Where is it?"
"That's classified."
"Then our agreement is up." Saiki shrugged.
"Excuse me?"
"The deal was that in exchange for us uncovering Mokoto's plan, we'd get paid ten grand. If you don't trust us, our agreement is over, and we'll take the money, and you can stop Mokoto." Saiki smirked.
"...I'll ask the government to give you the information, in exchange for you stopping him."
"And another ten grand."
"Fine."
-
"What was that for, Saiki?" Teruhashi asked in an inquisitive tone.
"I wanted to see something."
"Which was?"
"The government needs us."
"They need me, and my knowledge about my brother."
"Yes, but this tells us that they want something else."
"Yes?"
"Yes. They want people that both themselves and the public wouldn't care if they died. They might try and double cross us, and this mission is deadly."
Teruhashi smiled. "When isn't it?"
-
Akechi woke up, and immediatly his head throbbed from where he was knocked out. Ouch. "Hello, Akechi." Someone - Mokoto - smiled at him. Oh great, this bastard. "Want some water?" He held out a cup. It looked like water. "We're not animals. Cooperate with us, and you'll be back before you know it."
"Thank you." Akechi took the water and took the tiniest sip. It tasted like water. He pretended to drink more. He wasn't risking it, and the small amount of water he did drink means he should be able to last three days without water, if it came to that. He had drunken enough today that he could. This is why proper hydration was important.
"What do you want from me."
"To hack the government's data base."
"And if I refuse?"
"Torture. But don't worry, all I want is one itty bit of information."
"I don't think I could hack the database even if I wanted to.
"You'll have time, and resources.
"Okay. I can work with that." He could delay for a couple days.
"Really?"
"I'm not fond of torture. Fortunately for you, I'm not a masochist."
-
It had been two days, and Akechi had kept him fooled. That changed today, Akechi thought, as an angry looking Mokoto stomped up to him. "Have you been delaying?"
"Hacking a government database isn't exactly easy." Mokoto hit him. And it just got worse from there. He held out for one day, and then did as was asked for him."
-
Saiki, Teruhashi, Auira, and Toritska were invited to the meeting, in London, at 2 pm. Fun. Saiki, Auira, and Toritska wore fully black suits whilst Teruhashi wore a navy dress that matched her hair. The dress was actually a top with a skirt, and she was wearing trousers underneath in case she needed to run. The looks they got went from confusion to outright hatred. Saiki scoffed at the comments.
"They have unusual hair. Are they representatives?"
"They don't look right."
"Aren't they from the mafia?"
They were given their own table, thank god, as different people spoke about world peace and other unachievable goals. Saiki rolled his eyes. Then the glass ceiling shattered. Saiki grabbed Teruhashi and dragged her under the table, happy that Auira and Toritska did the same. People with poor reaction times screamed as glass cut them. Once the sound of shattering faded, the four got out from under the table. Mokoto abseiled down from the ceiling, not even wearing a mask. "Hello, representatives. Let's make an agreement. In exchange for one million yen, or whatever currency you guys use, I won't blow this place up, with the bomb I planted one floor down. Sound good? And if anyone makes a phone call, I'll shoot you."
"How are we meant to get money if we can't phone people? We don't casually carry one million yen on us." Saiki quipped before he could stop himself. Mokoto turned to him. Oops. Mokoto wasn't looking at him though, he was looking at Teruhashi.
"Sister? What are you doing here? Someone get her out of here!" Mokoto said as he pointed a gun at Saiki. Teruhashi stepped in front of Saiki.
"I'm not leaving." Teruhashi said.
"Why not?"
"Because otherwise you'll shoot Saiki and blow up a bunch of innocent people?" Teruhashi reasoned.
"Hardly innocent, but you were always the reasonable one I suppose." He lowered his gun. "Come out."
"Only if you let my friends out too."
"I thought you cared about the representatives."
Teruhashi shrugged. In reality, she knew they were safe so long as they kept themselves busy with transferring money. Mokoto let them out.
"Show us the bomb." Teruhashi said.
"Why?"
"Because I asked."
"Fine, I guess I can show you the extent of my power."
They four were brought down to the bomb, where Akechi was working on installing it. Saiki's blood boiled.
-
Akechi was asked to install a bomb, so he installed a bomb. Or at least it looked like a bomb. It had a timer, a flashy red light, and an ominous vibe. Certainly looking like a bomb. It was also big, about the size of two people. "Akechi?" He heard a stern voice called his name with a slight softness to it. He turned, he'd recognise that voice everywhere. "Oh, hi Saiki."
-
Akeshi looked...ruined. His head was bleeding, his arms were cut and bruised, and his whole body shook a little. His clothes were ripped and ruined and barely covered his injured skin. Saiki was going to kill Mokoto, very, very slowly. "Are you okay?"
"I've been better." Akechi joked. Since Mokoto was here, he pushed a button that made the bomb's time glitched.
"What did you do?" Mokoto hissed as he stormed up to him. So predictable. Mokoto punched the bomb in anger. "If you made a decoy, I'll-"
"Sorry, Saiki." Akechi said as he pushed a button that made the machine electrocute Mokoto, but Akechi as well. Then it all went black.
-
Saiki and Teruhashi watched over the unconcious Akechi in the hospital. After the stress of Mokoto, almost losing Akechi, and the exhaustion of the last few days, it was no surprise they fell asleep. That was the problem. They felt comfortable.
Akechi woke in a hospital bed. This was unusual, though not unexpected. Given his condition. Which was...sore. Achy. Hurty. Uncomfortable. Ouchy. Yeah. He looked to his right, where Mokoto was unconcious in his own bed, handcuffed. The to his left, where Saiki and Teruhashi were asleep on the chair. Cute. A nurse came in. "Hello, Akechi. How are you feeling?"
"Bad."
She laughed. "Yes, I imagine."
That's when Akechi noticed the handcuffs. His right hand was cuffed to the bed, and Saiki and Teruhashi had been handcuffed. "Saiki!" He called. The two woke up and realised the situation. A government agent walked in. "Thank you for your help, and will reduce your sentence I'm sure." He said smugly. They couldn't fight handcuffed, shit. Then Auira and Toritska rushed in, Auira taking down the agent and pinning the nurse to the floor, Toritska breaking the handcuffs. The five rushed out of the hospital, Saiki helping the injured Akechi. They were determined, and no one could stop them.
-
A trespasser was caught by Aren, Nendo, and Hairo. They were brought to a room with nothing but two chairs that Saiki and Teruhashi were sat on. Aren pulled the trespasser's hood down. Saiki smiled. "Hello, Mokoto."
