Chapter 7: An honorable death

Chapter Text

The battlefield was a maelstrom of chaos. The grim landscape served as a fitting backdrop to the intense clash between the Stars and the Moons. Dust and Killer flanked Dream, their combined assaults pushing him to his limits. Blue2 fought valiantly alongside Ink, deflecting Cross's relentless attacks while trying to keep Blue at bay.

As Blue and Blue2 continued their fierce duel, Nightmare's tentacles lashed out at Ink, who deftly avoided them, his paintbrush weaving intricate patterns in the air. Cross, however, seized the moment of distraction to rush at Ink with a bone spear.

"Watch out!" Blue2 shouted, summoning a wall of bones to intercept Cross's attack.

Ink nodded his thanks, but his eyes never left Nightmare, who was advancing with dark determination. "Keep an eye on Cross," Ink instructed, "I'll handle Nightmare."

Meanwhile, Dust and Killer pressed their advantage against Dream, who was struggling to maintain his radiant aura. Each hit from Dust's poisoned bones and Killer's knife chipped away at Dream's defenses, and it was clear he couldn't hold out much longer.

Suddenly, a flash of movement caught Blue's eye. Cross, seeing Dream's plight, had managed to land a hit that sent Dream sprawling to the ground. Blue felt a surge of panic. Dream might be immortal, but if they lost this fight, the consequences would be dire.

"Dream!" Blue2 shouted, trying to break free from the melee to reach him. But Horror and Killer blocked his path, their grim expressions telling him that this was a fight he couldn't win alone.

Dream's aura flickered dangerously low as Dust landed another hit. Dream tried to summon his shield, but his energy was waning. Blue2's heart pounded as he realized Dream wouldn't last much longer.

However, the tide of battle took a dark turn. Cross, seeing an opportunity, broke away from Dream and lunged at Ink, who was focused on creating a barrier. Ink's eyes widened in shock as Cross's blade pierced his side.

"Ink!" Blue2 shouted, rushing to his friend's aid.

Ink staggered, clutching his wound as Dream tried to reach him. But it was too late. With a final, pained look at his friends, Ink collapsed to the ground, his form dissolving into a pool of inky darkness.

"No!" Blue2 cried, his eyes blazing with fury as he attacked Cross with renewed ferocity.

Blue2 felt a surge of rage and grief, his attacks becoming more brutal and relentless. He lashed out at Cross, forcing him to retreat. But the damage was done. Ink, their artistic strategist, was gone.

Dream, sensing the loss, regrouped with Blue2 for a desperate counterattack. His aura flared with renewed intensity, pushing Dust and Killer back. "We need to retreat!" Dream shouted, his voice filled with urgency.

Blue2 hesitated, looking back at Blue with a mixture of regret, anger, and determination. "This isn't over," he promised before stepping through the portal with Dream.

As the Stars retreated, the battlefield fell eerily silent. The Moons stood amidst the wreckage, their victory overshadowing the loss of Ink.

There is a very high chance that this will not be worked on for months at a time, if you have a problem with that, womp womp.
