Chapter Text
One of the hardest things Charlie and Pim had ever had to agree on besides their own child’s name was the date in which they wanted to have their wedding.
Pim really wanted a winter wedding, thinking it would be so lovely to get married in the snow around christmas time, where the whole world just seems a bit more magical that time of year.
As nice as that sounded, Charlie couldn’t stomach the thought. Wintertime was hard for him, he felt like he might throw up if he even smelled one pine tree. It was definitely due to the aftermath of literally dying on Christmas Eve and ending up in Hell. Pim felt bad for suggesting the wintertime after Charlie had explained but Charlie tried to assure that it was all good, they just needed to find a common ground.
They settled on a Spring wedding.
It was a pretty small gathering considering their families weren’t really invited ( save for Charlie’s uncle ) and the only friends they shared were their fellow co-workers and boss, though Pim did invite his old UFO group, who Charlie was only vaguely familiar with since he’s only met them once before. Still, at the end of day this wedding was theirs, so it was practically perfect.
Having the ceremony during springtime turned out to be a great idea. It was beautifully sunny outside, and flowers were in full bloom - perfect for decor.
The sun and its rays shone upon the aisle of the outside venue, making the white decor along with the assortment of flower decorations almost shimmer. The light also illuminated the guests, who sat in plastic folding chairs wrapped in white satin cloth.
The music had started. Waiting on the other side of the aisle was Charlie in a black suit and tie. Beside Charlie, standing in the middle was the priest; who happened to be the same priest who officiated the Boss’s own wedding as well as Charlie’s funeral.
Of course, Emily was the designated flower girl but considering she was still only a few months old, her grand uncle had to carry her down the aisle and hand her tiny fistfuls of rose petals that she would throw to the ground or occasionally almost put in her mouth. She received many ‘awww’s from the small crowd of guests.
Shortly afterwards, Pim made his way down the aisle; dressed in a white suit. He was red in the face once he saw Charlie waiting on the other side. He could not believe that finally, he was walking down the aisle at his own wedding, about to marry his best friend. It felt like a dream.
Pim met Charlie’s eyes as he finally reached the other side and he swore he would’ve pulled the larger critter into a kiss right then and there; if he didn’t remember there was a whole ceremony to complete first.
When they did finally kiss at the end, it was all Pim had hoped it would be and more.
The reception was also pretty small, but the joy of being surrounded by nobody but loved ones and good friends made it all feel special. There was still a lot of food, drinks and of course, a big wedding cake.
Charlie and Pim had curated their own wedding reception playlist together before the ceremony and although they had initially fought over their own first dance song ( Pim, being Pim, wanted a really sappy love song ) they found themselves dancing to ‘Your Smiling Face’ by James Taylor. While not as slow and overly romantic as Pim would like, it ended up feeling fitting for them anyway.
At first, the newlyweds thought they wouldn’t really have time for a honeymoon due to the baby but Charlie’s uncle, being an absolute saint, offered to babysit Emily for the time being.
This led to a week-long vacation to Australia with Charlie screaming bloody murder when he saw a huntsman spider in their Airbnb. The rest of their honeymoon went pretty romantically despite this.
A few months into their marriage would pass when Pim would announce something in the most nonchalant way possible. A great contrast to the first time he needed to tell Charlie important news.
The small pink critter was folding the laundry after putting Emily down for her nap and Charlie just happened to walk by in the hallway. Pim had noticed and called for him.
Charlie made his way into their shared bedroom, not thinking much of it.
“What’s up, man? You need help with the laundry?”
“Nope” Pim hummed as he folded their clothes. This left Charlie perplexed.
Not meeting Charlie’s eyes due to focusing on his task, Pim simply said “I’m pregnant again”
“…What?”
