Chapter Text
(Geto’s Pov.)
The way to get out of bed is different for everyone. Some people lay there for 20 minutes waiting till the last minute, some just wake up at a normal time, and some are up before the sun, because his dumbass- I mean they believe that the sun is lazy and they are better than the sun. Even though how can you be up before the sun? The sun is always technically up because the sun never technically sets because it’s a rotation. Anyway, I am not one of those people.
I wake up when my alarm goes off. I brew coffee. And go to school. My dorm mate however hasn’t let me sleep in since he transferred into my dorm. He is sunny and popular and cocksure, and you can’t forget egotistical. It was a fucking Wednesday when I thought somewhat differently of him.
(Sorry if the intro is shit I get better after getting started.)
(Third person/Geto focused. (I’m not good at first person.))
Geto walks out of his room at 7:30. He hated Wednesdays. He was going to brew a pot of coffee before an arm was slung around his neck. “Morning Suguru!” Gojo enthusiastically smiled at him. Geto pushes him off walking over to the kitchen slumping. “Morning.” Geto breathes out as he starts the coffee maker. Gojo normally left him alone in the morning so why was he acting like thi- Geto cuts off his own thoughts when he sees the coffee just spilling out of the coffee maker. Gojo broke it.
Geto looks up at Gojo who just shrugs but he was sweating as he shrugged. He knew he was guilty. Geto knew he was guilty. Gojo cocks his head towards the small sum of around 20 dollars next to the broken machine. “Sorry.” Geto sighs, pockets the money and goes to change into different clothes.
(Third person/Gojo focused)
Gojo sighs and grabs some duct-tape and puts it over the hole. Shoko (Their other dorm mate) comes out of her room and she looks at Gojo then at the coffee maker turns to Geto’s room. “You are so clumsy.” She knocks on his door. “Wanna go for a smoke?~” Shoko says singsongly. She sits on the couch waiting for him to come out. Gojo continues on the coffee maker as he tries to patch it up. He was trying to make it stop leaking. He was trying. Trying for Geto.
(Geto time.)
Geto finally goes to his first class. He didn’t have it with Gojo but he didn’t mind as he was zoning out. He was tired. He sounded like those women on facebook. The ‘Don’t even talk to me until I’ve had my coffee.’ But Geto stays up late and. Um. He didn’t really have an excuse, he was just kind of mad. The money was nice though. How did Gojo even break the coffee maker? It was on the counter. The one morning where Geto almost overslept because the light of the dorm didn’t wake him up for once, that was different, he normally complained about how the light wakes him up but it didn’t wake him up this morning. Strange.
While he was in the middle of his thoughts the people around him got up to leave the lecture hall. He stands up to follow. He zoned out the whole time. Shit.
Geto heads to his next class. He could not stop thinking about that dumb coffee maker. He was at lunch and walking around campus when he ran into someone with his reheated leftovers. The rice in it spilled all over himself and he cursed under his breath. The guy turned around and it was Nanami. Nanami looks at Geto and sighs. “You okay?” Geto nods as he looks at Nanami. “Yeah I’m sorry for running into you.” Geto saw that there was some of his food staining the back of Nanami’s jacket. Geto hesitates before saying. “Here sorry um. There’s a dry cleaner that’s cheap just down the road.” Geto hands him the 20 that Gojo had given him as an apology for the coffee maker. ‘There goes the coffee maker.’ He thinks.
Nanami thanks him, takes the money and walks off presumably to class. Geto sighs and walks around campus a bit more. His phone buzzes and he checks it to find a text from his boss. It read. “Dear employees, due to company issues we are going to be cutting back salaries for cashiers and cooks. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will be updating our break room to better accommodate this change for you all.” Geto let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding while reading. He considered for a moment calling back at Nanami and asking for the 20 back but that would be rude.
He worked a shitty version of a popular cafe chain, every city has one, like a shitty Mcdonalds the company doesn’t give a shit about because they have thousands. It was cheap and fast so the food wasn’t very good. The break room was a small room in the back, maybe the size of a closet. It had one charging port and a water cooler. One of the slots being used by the lamp that lit the room. Geto worked in the kitchen, drive through, and on coffees. All on different days after school. He wasn’t required to come into work on Sundays and Wednesdays. Strange days I know. The work sucked but the pay was slightly above minimum wage. But now. It’s not. He was planning on going to the penny wash himself because he also spilled his lunch all over himself but now. That wasn’t an option until payday. Shit. Maybe Nanami would bump into him next?
