Chapter Text

“Say it,” whispered the freckled man with a heavy breath, catching how the previous distance between them was now a blurry memory.

Indeed, none of them could recall the moment they let their feelings talk for themselves, manifesting into the purest form of love these vulnerable souls could find. In the euphoria, they era liars about how being each other’s weakness wasn’t a flaw but a strength for their strong bond, leading them to the moment when their friendship was on the line.

“Say it, and I’ll be yours forever,” confessed Izuku, losing himself in the crimson eyes that seemed to share many secrets with an innocent glance. He didn’t know when his heart fell for someone like Katsuki Bakugo, but he had to accept how he was doomed to be another victim of the blond’s game.

The entire campus wanted him as a pride in their bed, as a stupid toy to expose to the world, but the nerd loved him for his soul. He took his time to cherish his flaws, kiss his scars after a fight, and remind him how he shouldn’t be afraid of losing him. Their relationship had never been clear to the world and the curious eyes. They often reached the forbidden lines of sharing shy kids in the corridor when no one was looking or holding hands in public as an unconscious gesture.

If Izuku Midoriya’s sentiments were sincere, Katsuki had difficulty dealing with his first love. He had never been the kind to stay in serious relationships but always admired how the nerd decided to be by his side at every step of his life. Through the years, his presence became necessary, leading to questions reaching the blond’s heart about his feelings toward this person who always knew every secret about his soul.

“I’ll let the world know about you and how beautiful your soul is, even if this implies fighting for my truths when you’re the most important thing in my life,” mumbled the freckled man, their lips separated by a few centimeters. None knew who was the first to start this sudden confession, but after hanging out the entire day together after their exams, the two childhood friends decided to change their minds with a hangover in the park.

The entire time, Izuku smiled genuinely, forcing the blind to focus on the slight change appearing on these beautiful cheeks. Falling in love with the unknown wasn’t scary if it meant sharing the rest of your life with the person you trust the most. This person would be able to know each of your secrets and give you the world if you asked for it…and he underestimated how doomed he was.

“Izuku…” his lips whispered, sensing how the other’s breath was standing near his face for too long. Their hands unconsciously held each other’s in delicate movements, following the rhythm of the wind wiping the messy curls on the freckled man’s forehead. The callous one tightened their grip as a first hint of an answer, observing how Izuku’s face softened, and his emerald eyes were full of awe.

“Kacchan,” both men didn’t know when they lost control of their bodies, but something awakened in their chest the moment the meaningful nickname escaped from the other’s mouth.

Crimson eyes found the emerald ones, losing himself into this welcoming ocean where he could be gladly drawn, even in his darkest days. They next knew how the callous hands left the scarred one, only to reach the smaller waist and bring him closer. Izuku didn’t fight back, closing his eyes and agreeing to break his shield by letting his warm fingers hold the blond’s neck. He wasn’t sure about the fire consuming his soul at this moment, ignoring the curious souls sharing curious glances and whispering about this situation that would be spread faster than any rumors in the next days.

The truth was that the two childhood friends didn’t care. The only sensation they wanted to feel in their bodies was the joy of reaching their goal and finding their happiness. Their hands held the other’s body closer, losing themselves in the vulnerable waist and the golden spiky hair. Their lips moved tenderly between each movement, letting the other know how the nature of their feelings was sincere.

Izuku couldn’t help but chuckle at the realization, letting tears fall down his face before feeling soft fingers wiping them. This sensation caught his attention, mesmerizing crimson eyes sharing many promises with a glance able to break the shield of the heartless man in the world. At this moment, the freckled man realized how lucky he was to be the center of Katsuki’s words, forcing him to put his forehead against the blond.

“I love you,” the blond muttered to his ears, giving chills to the other before catching a glimpse of a smile drawing itself on his lover’s face. He didn’t know how or why, but Katsuki Bakugo promised to put the world down for such a unique soul as Izuku Midoriya.

“Say it again,” the freckled man ordered with a light chuckle. He looked into his childhood friend’s eyes and analyzed each expression on his face.

Katsuki Bakugo was the prettiest book he had ever seen, and he couldn’t wait to read all the mysteries and untold truths in these pages. He promised to treasure each of them and transform them into his strength, to let the world see the blond Izuku saw at home: the most incredible person he had ever seen.

“I love you to the point where I told the stars about you, and they mocked me for being too devoted to a precious soul like yours. I love you more than you can ever imagine. You would be my perfect work if I were a painter, giving you the brightest colors to catch everyone’s eyes and notice your beauty.” The taller man explained, smirking when he wiped the last tears away from the nerd’s cheeks. “I love you to the point where I can write an entire poem dedicated to you and how mesmerizing you are, but I’m not even sure the ink written on this piece of paper would be enough to show you the intensity of my feelings.”

“Kacchan,” the freckled man said between his tears, remembering how none of this was a fever dream to comfort himself. Instead of fighting back, he rested his head against the blond’s chest, letting his shaking hands hold the taller figure closer.

“I love you as a whole with your flaws and qualities, making you the most breathtaking person I’ve ever seen. I can’t promise to be the perfect person you can rely on, but I’ll occupy your mind, even on your deathbed.”

Izuku laughed, understanding how he could get used to these sweet promises. “You were the reasons for my sleepless nights and unshed tears, but I wouldn’t mind falling into craziness with you if this meant being your first and your last.”

That night, the two childhood friends decided to seal the new chapter of their lives with another kiss, signing the beginning of this new hope rising in their chests.

- And they lived Happily ever after with their adoptive children -
