Chapter Text

Every day, repeat…nothing. There is nothing for Alexis to enjoy, everything is on repeat. He goes to school, goes to the dessert shop, and goes there in hopes of seeing that blonde hair man again. But it seems that he had disappeared, or at least avoided him. Every once in a while, he remembers that dream with Kaiser in it. Every dream has its meaning, yet he doesn’t understand the meaning of this one.

The wind blew as he walked down the streets, it’s quite cold, after all, it’s almost winter. Strangely enough, he had always felt the presence of someone following after him, yet he didn’t bother to check. Despite the fact, he feels oddly unsafe with that feeling. The eerie feeling continued to follow him past the streets, past the dessert shop. When he reached his home, he couldn’t help but be stopped by the door and turn around to check. Was he going crazy? Or was his intuition correct?

Alexis turned around and saw the same man with the blue rose tattoo, and eyes piercing enough to kill. Kaiser. Alexis thought to himself. The two men simply stared at each other and not saying a word, just like in their past two interactions. It’s awkward.

“Ness.” The man standing in front of Alexis suddenly said out loud breaking the silence. Alexis simply stood there and said nothing. He doesn’t understand how this strange man he had never met knew his name. It’s eerie and yet it felt familiar.

“Ness speak to me…” Kaiser said, slowly sounding desperate. How odd, the emperor Kaiser in his past life would’ve never sounded so desperate for someone to speak to him…especially not towards someone like Ness.

Kaiser looked at Ness in the eyes, a slight hurt can be seen in those piercing blue eyes. Yet Ness doesn’t get it. The Ness in the past life would’ve immediately understood what Kaiser needed or wanted. Back then Ness understood Kaiser to the core. For some reason, it was like seeing Kaiser showing some genuine emotion for once triggered something in him.

“Ness get the ball!” A familiar voice screamed, the ball wasn’t too far from Ness. He could see the ball flying down the lane and going towards someone, Ness understood that voice’s command and dashed towards it. He successfully stole the ball and it was like muscle memory, he immediately passed towards the man with long blonde hair and a rose tattoo…Kaiser…

‘What is this…’ Ness thought to himself as the memory continued. The Kaiser in this was nothing like the Kaiser that currently stood in front of him. This Kaiser in the memory had long and beautiful golden hair, and his eyes were just as piercing, however, this one showed more emotions.

The memory then changes scene again, now they seem to be in a room…a dorm? Ness was trying to wake Kaiser up for soccer practice. Ness remembers feeling panic, he knows the coach will make them run laps again if they were late to practice.

Ness snapped back to reality hearing Kaiser’s panicked voice, the hurt in those piercing blue eyes isn’t the best feeling. Ness’s lips parted letting out a huff, “Kaiser…” Ness mumbled as he looked at him. His memory of his past is scattered but he remembers Kaiser, he remembers the man that was once his best friend, partner on the field, and his savior. Kaiser clutched Ness’s shoulder, after hearing his name, “Do you remember me?” Kaiser asked, panic setting in as he scrunched up his eyebrows. Ness remained silent, it’s not that Ness didn’t remember him, but it’s not that Ness remembers him either. Kaiser simply felt familiar, Kaiser to him is simply the person that kept appearing in his flashbacks. Ness doesn’t know why.

“Ness we played soccer together, do you remember?” Kaiser said, the panic dripped from his voice as he lightly shook Ness. It’s probably the blue haired emperor’s first time showing such emotion for someone. Ness might be the only person and also the first person to see him show something that isn’t smugness or anger.

“I suppose I do.” Ness answered quietly, it was only half the truth. He only remembers a glimpse of Kaiser but not the full story. Just as Ness tilted his head up again to look into those mesmerizing blue eyes, Kaiser leaned forward and smashed his lips against Ness’s. Ness let out a confused sound and tried to pull away, he didn’t succeed of course, Kaiser’s grip on his shoulder was too strong.

The kiss wasn’t sweet, it was rather aggressive and almost painful. For what felt like an hour, Kaiser finally pulled away. Ness painted trying to catch up to his breath, taking this chance shoving Kaiser back. Kaiser stumbled a bit and looked at Ness, first in confusion, then in annoyance.

“What was that for?! I barely know you!” Ness yelled out, covering his mouth in disgust. The disdain dripped from his tone. Kaiser merely stood there, wondering what had gotten into him. Why did he kiss Ness? He doesn’t know, it just felt right at the moment.

“Fuck…” Before Kaiser could say anything else, Ness ran into his home locking the door. His heart is pounding, both in fear and because he was flustered. His mother isn’t home currently so he has no one to cry out for help. He sat by the door, pulling his knees to his chest and sighed.

On the other side of the door, Kaiser sat down on the staircase leaning against the door. The two men sat in silence, no word was uttered between them, they stayed like that for about 30 minutes. Ness dozed off from the other side of the door while Kaiser stayed awake reminiscing what they used to be.

The dreams flashed across Ness’s mind again as his eyes remained shut. Bit by bit, all the images of the past came back to him. Him and Kaiser’s time together at Bastard Munchen’s training school, their time together in Blue Lock. Their rival, Isagi Yoichi, and how much Kaiser despised him.

Usually, Kaiser would’ve left in anger, leaving Ness by himself, yet today he chose to stay. How depressing…a boy who chose to stay for someone he mistreated in his past life and wants him back. When Ness opened the door again, he was almost teary eyed. Kaiser stood up, looking at him, Ness stared right back. Their eyes meet again, like always. But this time, Ness looked teary eyed and Kaiser looked worried. It was as if time had frozen, neither man moved.

Ness eventually reached out, slowly, as if the man in front of him wasn't real, but a mirage. When his fingers grazed against Kaiser’s cheek, he felt his warmth, the man in front of him real. The time unpaused and Ness jumped into his arms. That was when the tears begin to free flow, oh how he missed Kaiser.

Alexis held the blonde man in his arms as the tear ran down his face.

“Kaiser…? Is it, is it you?” He asked with a trembling voice. Kaiser’s hand rested on Alexis’s head as if petting him like a loyal pet.

“Mhm hm.” Kaiser hummed, not trying to show his excitement that Alexis had regained his memories. Alexis held him and sobbed, while Kaiser tried his best to comfort him. Petting his head, rubbing his back. He honestly isn’t sure what to do. He had never once comforted someone in his life, let alone Ness, someone…who is more on the emotional side.

Kaiser looked down when Ness had finally stopped crying, and Ness looked at him right back. Love was in Ness’s eyes, oh how Kaiser misses them, Ness’s loving eyes. How Ness looks at Kaiser with adoration, and love. He misses being treated like a king.

“Took you long enough to remember.” Kaiser said, he wasn't pissed, but he wasn’t too happy with how long it took Ness either

“Sorry…I wish we didn’t have to reincarnate…I wish we both lived and were together in the other universe.”

Alexis said.

His name was Alexis right?

Kaiser then woke up on the hospital bed. His body was bandaged up badly. He rubbed his temples, he was confused, “what happened???” He thought to himself, then the doctors came in.

“You’re awake.”

“Where’s Ness…”

“Who?”

“Alexis Ness! Where is he?!” Kaiser is getting pissed, where is that annoying follower.

“Oh, your friend? He saved you during the crash. Did you forget?”

Kaiser was silent after hearing the doctor’s words. His eyes widened. He felt hurt, shock, anger. He wants to scream at the doctor, tell him to scram. He doesn't want to believe Ness is dead, especially died saving him? He was a worthless piece of shit who didn’t deserve saving, is what he told himself

When the doctor left, Kaiser buried his face into his hands and screamed, he screamed until his voice became hoarse. Then he begins to sob, tears ran down, he’s crying. Crying for that idiot, guess the only person he can call ‘friend’.

“Maybe in an alternative universe, you would’ve lived…” Kaiser mumbled into his hands.

“And instead, I should’ve died.”

the end.
