Bakugou woke up the next morning, the reality of his new revelation weighing heavily on his mind. He liked Uraraka. There was no denying it. The realization was as clear as the morning sun streaming through his window, and it left him feeling restless and conflicted. He knew he couldn't act on his feelings—doing so would only complicate things, and he wasn't one to let emotions get in the way of his goals.

As he got ready for school, he decided that the best course of action was to shove his feelings deep down inside of him. He wouldn't ignore her completely—he enjoyed their late-night hangouts too much for that—but he would keep his crush a secret, even from himself if he could manage it.

Bakugou arrived at homeroom early, the usual scowl etched on his face. Only Iida and Yaoyorozu were present, and Iida immediately greeted him with his typical formality.

"Good morning, Bakugou," Iida said, adjusting his glasses. "I hope you're ready for today's lessons."

Bakugou ignored him, heading straight for his desk and pulling out his phone. Iida's lecture on treating others with respect went unheard as Bakugou flipped him off and continued scrolling through his feed. He wasn't particularly active on social media, but it provided a welcome distraction from his swirling thoughts.

Homeroom wouldn't start for another twenty minutes, and soon more of his classmates trickled into the room. Kirishima and Mina sat down beside Bakugou, launching into their usual energetic chatter.

"Hey, Bakugou!" Kirishima greeted, his shark-like grin wide. "Did you catch the new episode of 'Heroes Rising' last night? It was so manly!"

"No, because unlike you, I actually have a life," Bakugou retorted, though his harsh tone was undercut by the familiarity of their banter.

Mina laughed, nudging Kirishima. "I told you he'd say something like that."

As they continued talking, Bakugou only half-listened, his attention drifting. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Uraraka walk into the classroom, laughing with Tsuyu. His heart fluttered in spite of himself as he watched her greet Iida and Deku. For a moment, he allowed himself to simply observe her, appreciating the way her laughter lit up her face.

"Hey, Earth to Bakugou!" Kirishima's voice snapped him back to reality.

Bakugou turned back to his friends, trying to refocus on their conversation. Kirishima was complaining about the test Present Mic was giving them next Monday, bemoaning the fact that he was going to fail.

"You’re only gonna fail because you’re a lazy dumbass who doesn’t study," Bakugou said bluntly.

Kirishima grinned, unfazed. "Pfft, okay nerd!"

Bakugou stood up, his chair scraping loudly against the floor. "What did you just say, Shitty Hair? You wanna fucking die?"

The classroom fell silent as everyone turned to watch the familiar scene of Bakugou threatening Kirishima. But then, from the back of the room, a soft giggle broke the tension. Bakugou snapped his head around to see who dared to laugh at him. It was Uraraka. The girl he just so happened to have a crush on.

"What the fuck are you laughing at?" he barked, his tone more confused than angry.

Uraraka giggled again, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I just find your outbursts funny, that’s all."

Bakugou’s eyes narrowed. "You wanna fight, Round Face?"

She just smiled, unfazed by his bluster. "Not really. I think I'd win anyway."

He growled in frustration, flopping back into his seat. The class stayed silent for a few more seconds before the usual buzz of conversation resumed. Kirishima and Mina both burst out laughing, finding the whole exchange hilarious.

"It’s about time someone humbled you, Bakugou," Mina teased, wiping away a tear of laughter.

"Shut up," Bakugou muttered, though his usual anger was absent. Instead, he felt a strange sense of warmth. He didn’t like people laughing at him—normally, he’d have already thrown an explosion their way—but Uraraka’s laughter was different. It didn’t make him angry; it made him like her even more. He had to fight to keep a smirk off his face. Damn, he really liked her, didn’t he?

As Aizawa walked into the classroom to begin the lesson, Bakugou sighed. This was going to be a long day.

---

The morning classes dragged on, each minute feeling like an eternity. Bakugou found it increasingly difficult to focus, his thoughts constantly drifting back to Uraraka. He tried to pay attention to the lessons, but his mind kept replaying her laugh, the way she had looked at him with those bright, teasing eyes.

By the time lunch rolled around, Bakugou was thoroughly fed up with himself. He grabbed his lunch tray and headed to his usual spot, hoping that some food would help clear his mind. He sat with Kirishima, Sero, Mina, and Denki, who were deep in a discussion about their upcoming training session.

"Hey, Bakugou," Kirishima said, nudging him with his elbow. "You okay? You seem kinda out of it today."

Bakugou grunted in response, shoveling a forkful of food into his mouth. "I’m fine. Just tired."

Mina leaned forward, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. "Are you sure? You’ve been acting kinda weird lately. Something on your mind?"

Bakugou shot her a glare. "I said I’m fine. Mind your own business, Pinky."

Denki laughed, nudging Mina. "I think Bakugou’s got a secret. Maybe he’s got a crush!"

Bakugou’s heart skipped a beat, and he fought to keep his expression neutral. "Shut up, Sparky, before I fry your brain cells even more."

Denki held up his hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright! Just kidding."

Kirishima chuckled, but he gave Bakugou a concerned look. "Seriously, man, if something’s bothering you, you can talk to us. We’re your friends."

Bakugou huffed, annoyed by their concern but also strangely touched. "I’m fine, the fuck? Just drop it."

They let the matter drop, and the conversation turned to more mundane topics. Bakugou tried to engage, but his mind kept drifting back to Uraraka. He caught a glimpse of her across the cafeteria, sitting with Tsuyu and Deku. She looked so relaxed, so happy. He found himself wishing he could join her, to hear her laugh again.

The rest of the day passed in a haze. Bakugou went through the motions, attending classes and training sessions, but his mind was elsewhere. He was relieved when the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. He needed a distraction, something to take his mind off Uraraka.

"Hey, Bakugou!" Kirishima called as they packed up their things. "We're all going back to Denki’s room tonight? You gonna come?."

Bakugou hesitated. He knew that spending time with his friends might help distract him from his thoughts, but he also didn’t want to risk letting anything slip. Then again, sitting in his room alone would only make things worse.

"Yeah, sure," he said finally. "I’ll fucking go."

Kirishima grinned. "Awesome! See you there man."

---

Later that evening, Bakugou found himself in Denki’s dorm room, controller in hand, the sounds of Mario Kart filling the air. He focused intently on the game, the competitive spirit in him coming alive. He liked winning, and when he played games, it took his attention completely. It was a good distraction.

They played for hours, the room filled with laughter and playful banter. For a while, Bakugou managed to push thoughts of Uraraka to the back of his mind, immersing himself in the game. But eventually, the night came to an end once again, and he found himself back in his room, staring at the ceiling, unable to sleep.

His mind kept wandering back to Uraraka, and no matter how much he tried to ignore it, the thought of her laughter and the way she had teased him stayed at the forefront of his mind. Frustrated, he kicked off his covers and decided to head back down to the common room. Maybe hanging out with her again would help clear his head.

As he descended the stairs, he heard the familiar clinking of a spoon against a mug. Sure enough, Uraraka was there, as expected, making her usual hot chocolate. When she noticed him, she smiled warmly.

"Couldn't sleep again?" she asked, already knowing the answer.

"Yeah," he grunted, heading to the kitchen to make his spicy ramen. "You?"

"Same here. I guess this is becoming a habit for us."

Bakugou smirked. "Better than staring at the ceiling."

They settled into their usual routine, sitting at the kitchen counter with their respective late-night snacks. The conversation flowed easily, touching on everything from their latest training exercises to random thoughts about their classmates.

"Hey, Bakugou," Uraraka said suddenly, her tone thoughtful. "You know, you act a lot less angry during these late-night hangouts."

He snorted, shaking his head. "I don’t act less angry. I’m just more tired at night. If you even dare tell anyone I’m ‘soft’ around you, I’ll kill you."

She laughed, winking at him. "Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me."

They continued their conversation, the tension that Bakugou had felt earlier in the day slowly dissipating. Uraraka’s laughter and easygoing nature were like a balm to his frayed nerves.

After a while, Uraraka’s eyes lit up with an idea. "I have a proposal. Something fun for us to do."

Bakugou raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"I’ve thought of a game," she said, her excitement palpable. "We pick a movie at random and start watching it. We both place predictions on what we think the plot is, and whoever’s prediction is more accurate wins. But there’s a twist—we both place bets that the loser has to do if they lose."

Bakugou’s competitive nature kicked in immediately. "Oh I’m so fucking in. What’s the bet?"

She grinned. "Woah, calm down. I haven’t decided yet. But I’m sure I’ll win."

Bakugou rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right. We’ll fucking see about that."

They moved to the couch, turned on Netflix, and scrolled through the options until they landed on a random movie that neither of them had seen. Once the movie started, they made their predictions.

"Alright," Uraraka said, her eyes gleaming with determination. "If you lose, you have to make mochi for me."

Bakugou thought for a second, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "Fine. But if you lose, you have to prank call Mr. Aizawa."

Uraraka’s eyes widened in horror. "I can’t do that!"

He teased her, a smirk playing on his lips. "What’s wrong cheeks? Chicken?"

Her competitive spirit flared. "Fine. You’re on. But only because I’m confident I’ll win."

They settled into the movie, each of them paying close attention to see whose prediction would come true. As the film progressed, they both scribbled notes on their phones, occasionally glancing at each other with competitive glares.

When the movie ended, it was time to reveal whose prediction was more accurate. Uraraka’s prediction turned out to be closer to the actual plot, and Bakugou groaned in frustration.

"You little shit! You cheated!" he accused, small sparks igniting from his palms.

She laughed, holding up her hands. "I did not cheat! You’re just a sore loser."

Bakugou huffed, crossing his arms. "What did you just say? I’m not a sore loser!"

"Sure you aren’t," she teased, her laughter infectious. "Come on, Bakugou, admit it. You lost fair and square."

He grumbled under his breath, still sulking. "Fine. I’ll make your damn mochi tomorrow. "

Her laughter only grew louder, and Bakugou couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of satisfaction at seeing her so happy, even if it was at his expense.

They said their goodnights and headed back to their respective dorms. As Bakugou lay in bed, he couldn’t stop thinking about Uraraka’s laugh. Despite his earlier frustration, he found himself smiling at the memory. Her laughter had a way of making everything seem a little brighter, a little more bearable.

He smiled to himself as he drifted off to sleep, thinking about her. Maybe this crush thing wouldn’t be so bad after all.
