Chapter Text
Emma was covered in blood, Nick's blood. She wipes the blood from her face and looks over at Nick, or at least where Nick was standing when things started to escalate, because instead of the innocent and loving Nick, she saw a huge monster. And even worse, this monster was staring at her like she was its prey. Emma took a few steps backward to get more distance between her and the Monster that was her friend seconds ago. She risked a glance at the rest of the group, but they were just as clueless as she was. They were just as frightened as her.
Was that Nick? No, it can't be, it's simply impossible, how could he just turn into a monster. Many thoughts went through her head and the others were probably thinking the same when she suddenly heard an animal like growl behind her. She turned around, worried that an animal was attacking her lover, but she saw Abi, who had visibly recovered from Nick's attack. But Emma quickly realized that something is wrong with her. Abi's Eyes are glowing in a bright golden color and her posture was so unlike her. That was not the sweet and shy girl Emma knew because right now only pure rage was radiating of her. Abi's gaze went past Emma, it was fixated on Nick or whatever he was now. Emma looked at the others, who also seemed to have no idea what was happening. No one knew what to do.
Kaitlyn's grip on the gun was tight, but she is hesitating but who can blame her, I mean that was still Nick right? Somewhere in there maybe? She couldn't just shoot him, right? But that hesitation was a big mistake.
Nick took that chance and howled he didn't hesitate another second, he is sprinting in Emma's direction, teeth flashed and ready to strike. He was so fast she but fear got the better of her, she just couldn't move, but she didn't have to. She only saw Abi pass her in a flash and run towards The Monster. "Abi watch out" Emma never felt so frightened in her life. Emma was about to close her eyes, she could not watch what was going to happen next, but then Abi grabbed Nick and threw him against the wall like he had done to her seconds before. Emma was terrified, she almost died, but It's not just that it's also Abi, she threw a giant monster against a wall with ease and seemingly enjoying herself she can see the smile on the smaller woman's face, Emma hardly recognized her.
Nick, or that thing he was now, picked himself up and let out a terrible howl and stormed out of the pool house, disappearing into the night.
Kaitlyn was the first to speak. "What the fuck just happened?" That's the question lingering in the cold evening air. No one had an answer.
Just as Ryan was about to say something, there was a knock on the door.
"We're all here, who could it be? Nick?" Dylan slowly approached the door and signaled Kaitlyn to cover him. But when he opened the door just a little, the door came flying towards him.
Kaitlyn didn't hesitate and pointed the gun at her target. On the other side stood a blonde woman with an eye patch, also pointing a gun at Kaitlyn.
"Put the damn gun down", said the stranger.
"You first, we don't even know who you are." The two women argued back and forth.
The focus of the group was on Kaitlyn alone as she tried to deescalate the situation, except for Emma and Abi, who were still standing there just like before the girl arrived. Abi was still standing with her back facing towards Emma, while Emma slowly approached her.
"Abi?" Emma had a bad feeling about this, she sensed that something was wrong. The other woman didn't answer her, so she came closer and closer until she could put her hand on her shoulder. "Abi? Is everything all right?" When her hand touched Abi's shoulder, she finally turned around, but Emma only saw two golden eyes staring at her and Abi growled at her.
This is the confirmation she needed, the same thing that happened to Nick is happening to Abi. Emma realized what was happening and quickly grabbed her hand and came even closer. It seems like a bad idea cause Abi could easily kill her. But Emma knew, or at least hoped, that Abi still has some control.
"Abi please that's not you, I beg you fight it please." Emma squeezed Abi's hand lightly and pulled the other woman into a hug. She could feel Abi's heavy breathing against her Neck, but then the other girl slowly relaxes into her touch.
It's like Abi had just woken up from a trance, she just remembers Nick throwing her against a wall, and now she was deep in the arms of the woman she loves so dearly. "Emma? What happened? Fuck, my head hurts so much."
"Hey little one, you are back, I'm so glad. Don't you remember anything?" Emma refuses to let the other woman go.
"No, not really, I just remember Nick attacking me, and then I had that feeling of raw power again, and I just couldn't resist, and I got so angry at Nick I really wanted to kill him and I think I liked it." She said, while tearing up, The rest is a bit of a blur. "I'm so scared, Emma. I could have hurt you. Why did you get so close?" Abi is nearly crying now.
You saved me from Nick, Abi and now everything is okay I'm glad you're alright. And you would never hurt me, I know that, okay?" she comforts the smaller woman in her arms. "Let's go to the others, there is a strange woman at the door, and Kaitlyn decided we should listen to her because she might have an explanation for everything."
Abi pulls out of the hug and already missing the comfort it gave. She just nodded and Emma places a little kiss on her cheeks.
"Let's go, beautiful," she said and takes Abi's hand.
The two of them went to the group and listened to Laura explain everything and hopefully find a way to save Abi.
