Chapter Text
“Hey Soome,” Estonia called out as he fumbled in the fridge, a seemingly innocent tone in his voice, “can you order a pizza for tonight? I don’t really feel like cooking.”
“Eesti,” Finland responded from the living room, “we’ve ordered pizza every night, why not try something different?” Estonia stopped what he was doing, waiting a few moments before walking into the hall leading to the living room. He placed his hand on his other arm, tensing his face slightly.
“You know how I’ve been feeling with my trauma,” Estonia said, his voice lower than it was before, “I just wanna have a pizza.”
“How about some Rye bread?” Finland asked. “It’s a bit healthier.” Estonia felt his anger grow moderately, causing him to put down his arms and clench his fists, growling under his breath as he did so. Upon noticing this, Finland got up, approaching him. “I’m just saying, we’ve been having pizza almost every night, don’t you-”
Suddenly, Estonia grabbed onto Finland's neck, causing him to jump back against the kitchen door. He stared up at Finland furiously, the other weakly grabbing onto his hands. He pressed his thumb against his throat, cutting off his air supply though allowing a small amount of air through.
“I just want a pizza, what is it you don’t understand?” Estonia growled, his tone consistently low as he began to squeeze a little tighter on his neck. Finland tried to sharply breathe, his eyes wide as he pulled against Estonia. Despite the other being smaller than him, his grip was much stronger. “You remember when I told you about this?” He pulled down the collar of his shirt, exposing a burn scar in the shape of a hammer and sickle.
Finland remembered Estonia crying hysterically as he told him about it. It had been branded into him by his own father, simply for refusing an order. He had described the stinging pain and terror and betrayal he felt in unnerving detail.
“You said you’d do anything to make me feel better. Just order me a fucking pizza. It’s that easy.” Estonia immediately let go of Finland, causing him to catch his breath and rub his neck. Estonia caught his breath too, rubbing his head.
“I’m gonna order you a pizza now, okay?” Finland said, trying to hide the fear in his voice though it still came out somewhat shakily. Estonia nodded his head, feeling a little guilty.
A few minutes after it was ordered, the pizza arrived. Estonia placed the pizza box on the table, before opening it, only to find that there were mushrooms and onions on the whole pizza. Estonia’s eyes widened in confusion, quickly srunching in anger. His fists clench.
“It has onions on it, I don’t like onions!” Estonia turned towards Finland, who had gotten himself a drink and had frozen in place in the hall. “What did you order?”
“I-I only said for them to put the toppings on one side,” Finland said, weakly smiling to try and calm Estonia down. Estonia stared at him, his body moving with each breath. Suddenly, he snatched his cup which was on the table and furiously launched it at Finland, though he ran out of the way, causing it to smash against the door. He placed his hands on his head, his chest heaving with fury. He involuntarily thought back to the abuse he faced, worsening his anger. After pacing around the room for some time, he sat onto the sofa, grabbing a slice and scraping the toppings off before biting into it.
Meanwhile, Finland stayed in the kitchen, his whole body shaking with fear. His eyes had become teary, though he rubbed them to stop anything from flowing out. He knew that Estonia’s abuse had made him have severe anger issues; the only problem was, he took it out on someone who loved him instead of the few countries living that aided in his trauma. After calming himself down, Finland slowly made his way back into the room, his hand nervously brushing over his long hair as he looked over at Estonia. He was staring ahead, eating the pizza and trying to calm down.
“I’m okay now,” Estonia whispered, “I’m okay.”
