So the surprise behind the party are the gods. (Like imagine Zeus as an aviator or a pilot, Poseidon in a merman or pirate outfit, then Hades in a demon costume, Apollo half naked and a tunic with 'winged sandals' that he stole from Hermes. Ect)
Draco and Nico have a bit of a fall out. Since Draco is a bit close minded with the whole Muggle thing, and since Nico isnt exactly a muggle or a mortal, Draco shuns him a bit. Which is a bit of a problem for him since, when he did it. it was during the first challenge.
Like the others, Nico had to face a dragon. But he doesn't face the simple wizard dragon. He faces a hydra.
Nico is at the edge of his feet absolutely problematic. He doesn't think that he could get the golden egg. But he does have support, from the Slytherins.
"Think like a Slytherin" Draco reminded. "Think like a wizard."
He manages to defeat the hydra. And like Thalia and Reyna, he disintegrated the dragon into dust. Since they were as vulnerable to the weapons like monsters.
After it all the Weasley twins congratulated him, and so did the golden trio and a few of his Gryffindor friends. And of course we couldn't leave Will out of the picture who was fussing over him as his best friend (though that didn't stop Nico from blushing) after finally being realeased, his slytherin friends practically carried him back to the dungeons to celebrate.
The Slytherins celebrated Nico's success like Harry and the Gryffindors. But when he opened the egg, Snape entered the common room.
"Congratulations, but I expect you to clean up this mess and off to bed within the next hour." Snape said in his usual condescending tone "I wouldn't have you all resort to Gryffindor foolishness. Heaven knows what would happen if we Slytherins stoop down to those levels."
He walks away with his cloak billowing almost trapping itself on the wall when it closed behind him.
Which caused some of the Slytherins to laugh as soon as he was out of hearing sight. The older kids warded the younger kids off to bed. And everyone helped clean up. Nico's year mates and some of the older kids started to think of possible ways to help Nico figure out the clue before their own 'head boy' pushed them all away to bed.
Draco cornered Nico. And they had a talk.
"I'll tolerate it since you're my best friend. Just you know don't tell my father"
So Nico tells him some of the Muggle joys every now and then. But Draco just nods even when he doesn't understand it.
The next few months were used to figure out the clue. And training. He got so into it, that he didn't know anything about Yule ball until Pansy and Millicent asked him if he knew how to dance. Which added another sort of training in his rota with the Slytherins.
Nico didn't know who to ask. He could ask Will, but that would possibly destroy their relationship as it is. because Will doesn't know that he's gay. And he is sure that Will is straight.
He originally wasn't going to go with anyone, but then the first dance was announced and that he needed to be there. So he asked Reyna.
He and Reyna spent the night in the Yule ball as friends. Reyna encourages him to at least tell Will. He was about to...until...Mistletoe.
Hehehehe yeah :D
Anyways
They were still trying to figure out how to get the clue, and had already asked the other big three demigods, champions, and a few other's help (Annabeth and the rest of the seven) in desperation. Strangely enough, the one who figures out was Percy, when Nico dropped the egg into his room open like a bomb thinking it might wake the sleeping demigod.
'Percy comes out- of his room with a bedhead.
"Nico, you left your mermaid singing egg in my room."
he says dropping off the closed egg and went back to his room to sleep.'
Nico then poses a problem, he's the son of Hades. though Poseidon doesn't hold as big of a grudge on Hades like Zeus, he still doesn't like his brother's son going to his domain.
So he had Percy talk with his dad to meet with him. Although Percy already offered to talkp to his dad for him, he still opted to talk to Poseidon himself.
Poseidon didn't allow it without anything in return (he is a god afterall) so Nico went to go on a quest to get a flask of Lethe water (an enemy of Poseidon he wants to forget everything)
This allowed him safe passage for the task, but it doesn't give him the ability to breathe underwater.
"It is part of your task." Poseidon said. "It would be considered cheating to the other champions of a god were to help you in your task. However I admire your ambition and pre-planning, I wouldn't have let you pass through the first fifteen minutes have you not asked for permission. But as family and your uncle, I will give you a little hint. I believe your friends have a solution to your problem. And it requires a little more power than any demigod posseses. Good luck"
The older kids then taught Nico the spell on how to breathe underwater.
Underwater captive: Will Solace.
Thalia may have forgotten that despite the fact she was the head Huntress of Artemis, she was still a daughter of Zeus and was practically ejected by the merpeople fifteen minutes in the task. Percy being Percy snuck around and saved the youngest Hunteress (who was under Thalia's wing for a time and caused her to grow fond of the young girl like a younger sister). He thankfully managed to do this under the radar.
When Nico saves Will, Nico started to go a bit nuts with the over protective phase. Especially since he was underwater for who knows how long. But Will shuts him up by kissing him. This basically outed both Will and Nico as gay.
The Demigods didn't have a problem with this. (I mean come on, they might try to shun Nico, but he has Will. Who has like a whole cabin of medics at his back without them they're screwed. The demigods aren't that stupid. And the fact that the Apollo cabin knows that their head councilor is bi. Plus. Nico had Reyna on his side. So that shuts the Romans up. (and the most of Romans have great respect for Nico as a soldier and didn't let his sexual orientation get in the way of that)
But some of the students did.
The Slytherins shrugged it off.
"We all have different preferences" one of them said. "If that's what makes you happy then okay, we Slytherins don't exactly have a lot of options half the time. One things for sure, we cannot turn on each other."
But the other houses caused then a little bit of grief.
And the one who defends him, was Dumbledore.
" Ten points from your house and Detention, Mr. (insert a last name of some random OC here)" Dumbledore said. "Love is to be shared, not to be ridiculed for. I will not condone this kind of bullying in my school."
The bullies leave and Nico was left with Dumbledore.
"Thank you, sir."
"You're welcome, Mr. Di Angelo." He said. "Funny thing, Loving someone. Sometimes, you need to pursue it or you'd miss life's greatest adventure."
He winked knowingly at Nico and went on his way
So after that the bullying for LGBT died down, and some other kids came out which embarrassed some of the bullies since they were some of their housemates/close friends.
Then the third task came. Nico came in second so he entered the maze with Krum.
He manages to catch Cedric's foot when the portkey activated. He was with the two when they arrived at the graveyard.
Nico was cautious and had his sword out and ready, but then he gets this ear splitting headache which was enough for Pettigrew to cast a body bind on him. Then he kills Cedric TT-TT (I'd try to change it but as you know I try to stick to the canon story as much as I could *sobs)
So insert creepy ritual of resurrection here.
Like Harry, when Voldemort resurrects Nico gets this splitting headache. But unlike Harry it seems as though his own consciousness was pushed to the back and he had to watch everything and he couldn't control it.
After a little dueling with Harry, Voldemort then hands Nico his wand.
Voldemort being the twisted person he was, had Nico torture Harry. What he forgets is that Nico isn't that strong of a wizard, insert Priori Incantatem so after a while Harry disarms and slightly disorients Nico enough for him to get to the two of them to the trophy. Along with Cedric's body.
When they reach Hogwarts, Nico then tries to attack Harry again under the influence of Voldemort. But Jason manages to block his strike in time, the two demigods were pretty evenly matched. Jason disarms him and before Nico could lunge towards Jason, Will manages to pin him down. Trying to talk some senses into him. It took a scratch mark across the face on Will and a long kiss to stop the raging demigod.
He had hid himself down at the Slytherin dungeons. Draco had again tried to get him out of his little depression state. So Draco went to get the only person who could probably help him.
"It took me forever to convince you that you're worth something, Nico." Will said. "And I won't have my boyfriend slip back into depression. Even if I have to keep an eye on you while I work in the infirmary. Now let's go get you out of these old clothes and out in the sunlight, doctors orders"
Harry still won the tournament.
The demigods helped with the funeral, and Nico conducted the hero's funeral for Cedric. Including the making of a shroud.
"Heroism isn't just about monsters and swordfights, but also about friends and family. May your soul reach Elysium and rest in peace, Cedric Diggory Child of Hecate."
The wizards and the demigods had a little meeting. And asked the demigods for help.
The demigods don't have magic, so they couldn't do much, but they were going to keep this from spreading too far and out of control.
The minister points out that they had Nico who was a demigod and a wizard.
But after they discovered the connections between Nico and Voldemort, the demigods turned protective and forbids him to join this quest. For the sake of his safety and the safety of the Wizarding world.
"He's been compromised" Percy said. "After all that's happened we prefer to keep most demigods from harm and the affect that Voldemort has as a legacy of Hades on Nico. We'd prefer if we send more of those that would keep the wizards safe.
The demigods go home the same day as the wizards. Nico and the Slytherins parted with promises to keep in touch. And Nico goes to the ship and they head back to Camp Half Blood.
