Chapter Text
With the Impervious Magical Canopic Jar as well as the three ingredients now safely in their clutches, they were making their way to Fernsworth— the town wherein they had first encountered Uraraka and Midoriya.
Under his boyfriend’s instructions, Kirishima disembarked at a nearby forest, setting his boyfriend back onto his feet. “So, is there a reason why you wanted me to fly around the skies with my wings instead of the usual dragon form?”
“Tch, there’s no deep reason,” Bakugou muttered out, adjusting the hem of his jacket. “I just thought that you needed a break from using your dragon powers is all.”
“Aww, that’s so sweet of you, Katsuki,” Kirishima tipped his head down, kissing Bakugou on his forehead. “By the way, thanks for letting me carry you, babe. After what happened yesterday with Holden, I didn’t think that you’d you know- “
“Shut it,” Bakugou bristled, darting his carmine eyes away from Kirishima as he had then admitted with a rosy blush. “If it’s you, I don’t mind being held that way, so it shouldn’t be a damn surprise that I’d let you carry me around and shit.”
“I’m really honored to be your exception,” Flashing Bakugou a cheery grin, Kirishima elbowed his boyfriend on his chest. “Haha, well, I mean your slaps seem like they hurt a lot, so I’m glad not to be subjected to them.”
“Idiot, you don’t have to fuckin’ worry about that,” Bakugou huffed, flicking his boyfriend on his nose. “I’d rather get slashed in the damn chest than ever lay a hand on you.”
“Babe, I feel the same about you and-” With his heart thumping lightly in his chest, Kirishima declared before he was suddenly interrupted by his stomach acting up, desperately craving for some food as it growled out loudly.
At that, Bakugou collapsed in a fit of snickers before he gripped his boyfriend by the hand, leading him off towards the forest. “C’mon, let’s go get some food, you dork.”
Still reeling from the beautiful sound of his boyfriend’s laughter, Kirishima was only able to muster out shakily. “R-Right.”
```
After a fun hunting session which had resulted in them eating several rabbit meats, they both gathered around the campfire for what had appeared to be the final time, cuddling each other close in their shared bedroll as the moon shone brightly upon them.
“I’m gonna miss this,” Breaking the comfortable silence wafting through the atmosphere, Kirishima spoke out, ruffling through Bakugou’s hair a bit as he continued on. “This whole journey really brought us both closer, and I really had fun just spending time with you this way, so I’m really going to miss all of this.”
“I get what you fuckin’ mean,” Bakugou replied, nuzzling into his boyfriend’s chest. “Even if things are just as hectic in my damn universe, it ain’t the same once we return back to UA.”
“But, hey, at least this experience will live on forever in our minds and hearts,” Kirishima said, dropping his hand from the other’s hair as his hold shifted, cupping Bakugou’s cheek softly. “It’s something that we both share together as a couple.”
“You shitty romantic,” Bakugou mumbled, a small smile playing on his lips as he brought a hand up, grasping onto Kirishima’s palm which was holding the blond’s face. “I don’t have any regrets getting sent into this damn dimension if it meant that I get to do all of this coupley shit with you.”
“K-Katsuki, I really love you,” Kirishima croaked out, his eyes watering. “I’m glad that we both got transported to this place together because it allowed to realize that I love you, and you meant the world to me and- “
Not being able to take it anymore, Kirishima allowed all of his happy tears to bubble out of his system as he embraced his true love firmly, unwittingly spilling his tears onto the other’s shoulder.
And, like the caring boyfriend that he was, Bakugou hadn’t minded the stains at all, rubbing Kirishima’s back gently in an effort to ease all of his boyfriend’s sobs as he then responded, sounding awfully choked out himself. “I-I love you too, Eijirou.”
```
Upon reaching their destination on the next day, they navigated through the busy streets of Fernsworth, trying to locate Uraraka and Midoriya’s hut by memory.
Luckily, unlike with the case of Azmarin town, the citizens paid their connected hands no mind throughout the entire time, not wasting a second of their lives to badger the gay couple within their vicinity.
Thus, without the addition of unnecessary negativity, they were able to fully focus on their objective in finding the hut, stumbling upon stumbling upon the establishment within twenty minutes or so.
Barreling their way inside the hut, they were immediately greeted with their friends’ smiles, something which had only brightened in intensity once they had taken notice of their interlaced palms.
“Oh, so you guys have finally gotten together?” Uraraka probed, a knowing smile plastered on her face. “It’s about time.”
“I-I’m so happy for you, Kirishima and Kacchan,” From right beside her, Midoriya piped up, his voice quivering ever so slightly. “You both make a really good couple since you two fit really well, and help inspire each other to be better and- “
“We get it already, nerd,” Bakugou groused, turning his head to the side in a bid to conceal his red flush. “But fuckin’ thanks, I guess…”
“Aww, Katsuki, you’re such a softie,” Kirishima teased, encircling his free arm around his boyfriend’s waist. “That’s one of the reasons why I love you so much.”
“W-Whatever,” Through the loud beating of his heart, Bakugou grumbled under his breath. “Save those words for later when we’re alone, you damn sap.”
“Right, right,” Kirishima responded, ducking down to drop a kiss on the blond’s cheek before he turned around, instantly meeting the combination of Uraraka’s amused grin as well as Midoriya’s bashful sheepish expression. “Anyway, it took quite a while, but Katsuki and I finally finished collecting the ingredients needed for the potion, and we also won the Impervious Magical Canopic Jar from the tournament.”
“T-That’s great, and congrats, I knew that you guys could do it!” Uraraka excitedly exclaimed, slipping into her professional mode. “Hand them over here, so that we could get the potion started.”
Not wasting any time, they both complied to the mage’s orders, laying out all of the ingredients as well as the Impervious Magical Canopic Jar on the table.
“Wait here for a while,” Picking the Oseavil herb and Void Safflower from the table, Uraraka said over to the couple, jutting her head over to Midoriya who was carrying the Touernite as well as the Impervious Magical Canopic Jar in his hands. “Deku and I will work on getting the potion brewed.”
And then, without even waiting for a response from either of their two clients, they sauntered off, disappearing into a room.
Now left alone, they merely sat in silence at one of the benches, absentmindedly holding onto each other’s hands, just contently taking solace from their shared warmth as Kirishima’s head somehow found its way to rest atop Bakugou’s shoulder.
For a while, they remained in that position until Uraraka emerged out of the room sometime later, carrying the jar in her hands, Midoriya in her heels.
Placing the jar on Kirishima’s awaiting hands, Uraraka smiled, a sad glint flashing in her brown irises. “Well, I guess this is goodbye.”
“Don’t worry,” Kirishima was quick to reassure the brunette, sending her a soft smile. “Our other selves should be taking our place as soon as we’d get sent back to our own universe, so you guys wouldn’t be missing us for too long.”
“Oi, you heard what Eijirou said, right?” All of a sudden, Bakugou interjected, glaring pointedly at a tearful looking Midoriya. “So, you better fuckin’ dry those tears up, nerd. I don’t want to see you crying over dumb shit.”
“S-Sorry, Kacchan,” Midoriya apologized, wiping his tears away. “T-Take care, you two, and please make sure not to catch any cold.”
“The same goes for you both,” Kirishima repeated, lifting the jar up from his lap. “See you later then, Midoriya and Uraraka.”
Surprisingly, Bakugou followed his boyfriend’s example, grunting out with a tinge of melancholy in his tone. “See you both later or whatever.”
Bringing the jar closer to their lips, the couple intertwined the fingers of their free hands together before they took the plunge, sipping the purple fluid flowing liberally inside the artifact.
Then, just like that, everything went dark.
```
In a moment of deja vu, it was the feeling of his shoulders being shaken vigorously which had compelled Kirishima to break completely free from all of the darkness, shooting his eyelids open with a start.
Instantly, Kirishima locked gazes with Bakugou, and his heart raced erratically in his chest, going wild at the breathtaking sight of his boyfriend looking absolutely majestic in a black tank top.
“Hey,” Kirishima called out, not taking his eyes off of his boyfriend as memories of the last time that they were conscious hit him, and he smiled. “It looks like we’re both home now, babe.”
With his own lips quivering into a small smile, Bakugou confirmed, gazing deeply into his boyfriend’s eyes. “ ‘Seems like it…”
Entranced, Kirishima found himself unwittingly swooping in, meshing their lips together as he was unable to resist the temptation of kissing Bakugou.
Unfortunately, just before Bakugou could even begin kissing back, they were suddenly interrupted by a shrill squeal, causing their kiss to come to a premature halt as they both abruptly leapt away from each other, meeting Ashido as well as their other friends’ delighted smiles as they walked into the common area, occupying some of the other couches around the couple.
“So, I take it that the first date was a success then?” Ashido giggled, kicking her feet up and down a bit. “I mean you guys seem much closer than before.”
“Actually, we weren’t on a date,” Kirishima clarified with a chuckle, running a hand through his red locks. “I mean we both already went on our first date before, but it was in the other universe and uh- “
“Wait, you guys finally switched back?” Sero chimed in with a tone of relief in his voice. “That’s great ‘cuz your other selves were quite a handful.”
“Yeah, we switched back just now,” Kirishima replied before worry suddenly crept up, and he shared an alarmed glance with his boyfriend. “Um, did our other selves do something that bad?”
“Kind of,” Kaminari answered with a slight shiver. “It was a nightmare trying to get you two together since it was hard to convince you and Bakugou to make a move for the longest time. Not to mention, you guys were very restless, and couldn’t seem to stay inside the dorm to save your lives.”
“Ah, sorry about all the trouble,” Flushing a bit from embarrassment, Kirishima chuckled out nervously. “But at least everything is back to normal now, and you no longer have to worry about getting our other selves under control.”
“Oh yeah, what have you both been up to over there?” Ashido inquired, curiosity shining through her black eyes. “What happened for you two to suddenly become a couple? And what did you guys do for your first date there? Was it something romantic?”
“Oi, we could tell you all nosy fucks the story later or shit,” Bakugou growled, speaking up for the first time as he slumped into the couch, yawning into his hand. “I’m tired as hell from the whole damn experience, and I just want to get some rest.”
“Sorry, my bad for bombarding you both with questions,” Ashido muttered apologetically, her smile instantly drooping from her face. “I got a bit too excited there.”
“It’s fine, Ashido,” Sending his friend a small smile in reassurance, Kirishima grabbed Bakugou’s wrist, gently guiding him out of the couch. “We’ll get going then. See you guys in a couple hours.”
“I don’t feel like walking,” Bakugou grunted out drowsily as he staggered in his place, struggling to stay afloat. “Fuckin’ take me to your room, Eijirou.”
From behind them in the background, their friends made some weird choking and gagging noises, yet Kirishima tuned them out as he busied himself with fulfilling Bakugou’s request, sweeping his boyfriend up from the ground and into his arms.
Drowning out his friends’ teasing wolf whistles, Kirishima strode into the elevator, riding it up to the fourth floor as his boyfriend dozed peacefully, burying his face into his boyfriend’s chest.
With his boyfriend’s warmth serving as an added distraction, the rest of the journey towards his room took a lot longer than expected, yet Kirishima was able to successfully deposit his boyfriend on the bed without jostling him awake.
After a moment of contemplation, Kirishima joined his boyfriend on the bed, dropping a kiss on Bakugou’s forehead before he cuddled the blond closer to him, shutting his own crimson eyes close.
Within seconds after he fell into slumber, Kirishima’s subconscious surged control as he soon found himself and Bakugou in a familiar place somewhere far beyond, adventuring around the forest as a couple of fire mage and dragon shifter.
