Chapter Text
Work turned out to be the least of anyone’s worries, as JYP was more than happy to welcome everyone back into the work place and ensured that all the groups who had helped out got extra large treat baskets for being so reasonable. Minho was invited to join, as Hyunjin spilled the beans about him being an dancer and they were given a bunch of security rights that had everyone settling down. Chan was never left alone, someone always with him even when the two alphas were occupied and everyone doted more on Jeongin now than they ever had been before. There was a lighter atmosphere in the air after the ex had been completely kicked out and a lot of reports came of the threats that he had posted around the building which had stopped practically everyone from helping.
Minho did have to spend most of an afternoon removing lighter curses from lots of people and some that had been set in the building itself. Jeongin had been containing a few, it turned out, which had weakened them considerably but hadn’t been able to remove them from everywhere. The cub had focused on the areas around his Mama’s studio, which was why Chan had felt particularly safe in the space. Hyunjin had blocked a lot of the curses around the dance floors and practice rooms, and had tried to block those that were being directed at Got7 in particular but was always shooed away whenever he was spotted.
Interestingly, it transpired that Got7 had been the most cursed of the groups involved, though none of them remembered it happening. They had all been cursed with unsettling dreams, an inability to bound and worst of all being unable to fill the missing piece where Chan should have been. It had taken the longest time to find the curse, as the ex had craftily secretly applied it when the group was sleeping so Minho had to spend virtually an whole day removing it. It took hours to get rid of it from each member and the kitsune was that exhausted after the whole ordeal that Changbin had to carry him back home. Which the kitsune alpha complained about of course, even though both omegas sent matching grins towards each other as it was clear that Minho was not going to come down from the other alphas arms if he could.
After that, they had a few days of rest and back into a routine of work that was pretty easy going but manageable. Jisung had swarmed the group when he finally got his chance to do so, cuddling up to Chan like his life depended on it whilst berating Changbin for slacking on the song they had been working on together which had made Hyunjin laugh out loud. Jisung had swung for the omega, but purposefully missed which caused Changbin to raise an eyebrow at the pairs antics.
“Yah! Why aren’t you signed up for the MV Competition?” Jisung whined towards Hyunjin.
Hyunjin blinked, looking confused for a second, “What?”
“The MV Competition that Bokseok is running,” Jisung grumbled, “You’re the favourite for that but you’re not even signed up.”
“Erm, been a little busy of late,” Hyunjin said, still sounding confused. “But why would you care if I was in that competition?”
“Because, dimwit, if you win you get to dance in an MV which would totally raise up your ranks and make sure that you debut,” Jisung huffed towards the other.
Hyunjin blinked repeatedly, “What…I…”
Jisung groaned, “Dummy! It’s a good thing that I signed you up already isn’t it? You need to get to practice room 2 in ten minutes to learn the routine. Go, go, go, go.”
For a few long seconds Hyunjin just stood there, looking completely lost before Jisung grumbled again and gave him a gentle little push, “Go, you idiot! I want you on that dance team at the very least!”
“But why?” Hyunjin whined, stopping the smaller from pushing him, “You hate me…”
“Ugh! No!” Jisung whined back loudly, “I’m jealous of your style and ability to dance but you should be debuting with a face like that and your dance abilities, you cretin. Plus you’re the only one who’ll do the song justice so go.”
“But no one knows the…” Hyunjin started again, stepping back from Jisung who went to push him again.
“I know it cause I wrote it and I had you in mind for dancing it!” came the sharp reply, before Jisung blushed and stepped back, “I mean…erm…that’s not….just go you dummy!”
Incomprehension filtered across Hyunjin’s face before suddenly there was a soft smile on his lips and the omega stepped forward to place a kiss on the betas forehead. “Thank you,” he smiled, looking just a little smitten and star struck before turning and rushing off.
There was silence for a few long seconds before Minho turned to look at the squirrel like boy, “Care to explain what feelings you have towards my little brother?”
Jisung choked on air, looking wide eyed towards the alpha kitsune who was glaring him down but Chan dug his mate in the ribs with his elbow. “It’s complicated between those two, trust me, I’ve been trying to get them to sort themselves out for years,” he chuckled with soft humour.
“Not my fault he’s a dummy,” Jisung pouted, folding his arms over his chest.
“Oh!” Jeongin said as he popped up in between everyone, the word elongated out in that way he did when he figured something out, “The omega you’ve got a crush on is Hyunjin-hyung!”
“Shut up!” Jisung said, turning to Jeongin and attempting to cover his mouth before hissing, “You don’t know that.”
Which caused Jeongin to laugh as he ducked away, “Sungie hyung likes Jinnie hyung!” he immediately started chanting at the top of his lungs as he started to run in the opposite direction, forcing Jisung to chase after him whilst the elder beta screeched at him to stop.
The two alphas and omegas lasted about five seconds before they all burst into laughter at the antics of the two. Chan shook his head, “Well I never.”
“I agree with you there,” Changbin grinned, “I thought he was just jealous of Hyunjin.”
“I’ll admit to being a little bit jealous of Hyunjin too,” Chan replied with a grimace and rubbed at the back of his head.
Minho turned to his omega, wrapping an arm around his shoulder, “You’re just as wonderful and beautiful as him, Channie.”
“You’re always going to be our main bias, you know that right?” Changbin teased, hugging the omega around the middle with a silly pout on his face.
Chan blushed as he was being embraced by his two alphas in the corridor of work but all he could hear was happy cooing from those who were peaking out and several clicks of cameras. He knew of the little fan club that the family had gained but saw no issue with it as long as their privacy was protected. Sana had been the one to show him, but would never admit to being the president of the fan club herself.
Eventually though, the chasing duo had to be stopped and the group continued on their way. Jeongin was going to be dropped off at classes, Minho was going into dance class and Chan, Changbin and Jisung were going to work on music in the studio for a bit.
Though Jisung did have to ask the question once they were settled down into the all too familiar space now, “Did anyone follow up on the vocalist by the way?”
Chan and Changbin stared at the other in question before the latter remembered and let out a sigh. “Shit, forgot about that.”
The omega blinked, humming a question instead of asking as he couldn’t remember anything useful about an vocalist in the slightest.
Changbin smiled, “Me and Sungie came up with a song but neither of our voices fit the vibe, we can try with you to see but we did put out a couple of feelers to see if there were any main vocalists who wanted an original piece to showcase. I think there were like two applicants or something but we kind of got caught up in everything and totally forgot.”
Chan blinked again, feeling quite pleased that the beta and alpha had created something together even though he couldn’t quite place as to why. “Let’s give it a go then, maybe it just needs an new pair of ears to listen to it.”
They spent the rest of the afternoon with the track, Chan tweaking bits and pieces and recording vocals that matched in some places beautifully but didn’t quite reach others. Chan wasn’t upset or anything, as it was clearly more of an vocalist song and even though both Changbin and Chan knew that Jisung could take on the lead vocals if he wanted, his confidence just wasn’t quite there and it did jar a little bit too much on the wrong side of everything. Minho agreed when he turned up after practice too, and they all got distracted when Hyunjin turned up with Innie on his shoulders so they all knew that it was time to go home.
“Hey Jisung,” Hyunjin called as they reached the entrance and the beta started to peel off in order to head back towards the usual dormitories, “Have you ever had Yakitori Chicken?”
The beta paused and blinked, “Huh?”
“Have you ever had it?” Hyunjin pressed.
“I don’t think so,” Jisung stated slowly, almost as if he couldn’t figure out where this was going.
Hyunjin smiled, “Perfect, come over to ours tonight, I’m cooking it.”
“You’re not burning the house down again,” Minho deadpanned towards the other, only to yelp when his foot was trodden on heavily by Chan who was grinning at him.
Jisung looked a little lost for words, “But…”
“It’s not far and trust me, it’s better than that crappy instant noodle stuff you buy,” Hyunjin pressed, completely ignoring his elder brothers scowl.
“How do even…” started Jisung before letting out a sigh and slightly wrangling his shirt with his hands, “I mean, I don’t want to intrude or anything.”
“Jisungie hyung, please come along or else Ani-ge will sulk most of the night,” Jeongin pipped up like the little mischief maker that he was.
Hyunjin squawked at the cub, who merely looked smug about his whole statement and did nothing but smirk towards his elder. Jisung blushed up a storm but couldn’t help giggle at the antics, whilst Chan cooed lightly, Changbin laughed himself silly and Minho looked completely done with the situation which the others knew instinctively that he was fully invested and wanted to see the outcome of this whole situation through to the very end.
“If you’re sure…” Jisung started, which brought Hyunjin back into the moment as he grabbed hold of the betas arm and gave him a gentle tug along which caused more startled squeaks to escape from the nervous wolf.
“Of course you are, plus you’re part of 3racha right? So use it as an extra bit of time to create music or whatever it is that you three do hauled up in that room of yours,” Hyunjin said way too brightly, almost as if he wasn’t dragging Jisung to their house to feed him his signature dish as a way of saying thank you and possibly something more which was just amusing to everyone else on the outside looking in.
Changbin turned to grin widely at Minho, “So?”
“No,” Minho said, shaking his head in complete dissatisfaction.
“But clearly,” Changbin started once again.
“It’s not happening, not on my watch,” Minho was now literally pouting and had stalking after the pair.
Which caused Changbin to laugh, “Dude, seriously.”
Chan blinked in question towards the two disappearing alphas and gently hoisted Jeongin up onto his hip a little higher, “I wonder about your hyungs at time, Innie, I really do.”
Jeongin just leaned forward to wrap his arms around his mothers neck, “They’re having fun. Plus Yakitori Chicken!”
Chan let out a sigh and hurried to catch up to the others, the two alpha barely having gone ten feet away before they had come to a natural stop as they were want to do when their omega wanted a little breathing space. As much as it was fun to be constantly surrounded by the pair, there were times when Chan would push back for a variety of reasons but both the kitsune and the wolf understood. They wouldn’t question until the time was right but would always move just enough so that Chan wasn’t immediately left alone either which created a nice balancing point for all of them.
Jeongin got set down once Chan was back to his two alphas, the cub tearing off after Hyunjin and Jisung who were playfully bickering back and forth. Both Changbin and Minho offered the omega their hand at the same time which caused Chan to giggle cutely as he took hold of both of them and swung his hands back and forth with his eye smile showing along with the prominent dimples on his cheeks. He could almost be heard to purr contentedly towards the two and they let out happy little rumbles back.
There was still the looming court case of course, and everything that was going to bring up but for now they were happy and together so they could afford to indulge in a little bit of peace between themselves.
