Venti’s expression hardened, a quiet resolve settling over him. “I found a way for you to survive. A way to break this cycle once and for all.” He reached into his cloak, pulling out a small, glowing pendant that pulsed with a gentle green light. He held it out to Aether, his hand steady, though his eyes shone with a desperate sadness. “Take this.”
Aether stared at the pendant, hesitant. “What… what is it?”
“It’s everything I have left,” Venti whispered, his voice raw. “All of my power… all of my strength. I can’t keep you safe any longer, Aether. But this… this might be enough to protect you, even from her.”
Aether shook his head, heart aching. “Venti, no. You don’t have to do this.”
Venti forced a small, wavering smile, though tears shone in his eyes. “I do, Aether. I realized that if I’m the one who dies… you’ll live. And there’s nothing I want more.” He pressed the pendant into Aether’s hand, his grip lingering, desperate, as if trying to hold onto this moment for as long as he could. “Please, Aether. Don’t let this be in vain.”
Aether felt a sob rise in his throat, his heart breaking. “Venti… please. Don’t go.”
But Venti only smiled, brushing a tear from his own cheek. “Sometimes, Aether… the hardest part of freedom is letting go.” He took a step back, his form beginning to fade, his voice soft as a whisper on the wind. “Remember me, Aether. And live.”
And with that, Venti vanished, his presence lingering only as a faint breeze that swirled around Aether, carrying with it the scent of distant songs and laughter now lost to time.
Aether clenched the pendant in his hand, feeling the weight of it, the warmth of Venti’s final gift. His heart burned with a new purpose, a goal fixed in his mind as sharply as a blade. He would avenge Venti, would bring justice to the friend who had sacrificed everything for him. And he would find a way to save Lumine, to free her from whatever darkness had taken hold of her heart.
With Venti’s power at his side, he would face the Abyss, fight its twisted forces, and finally bring this endless cycle to an end. For Teyvat. For his sister. And for the friend he would carry with him, forever in his heart.
