Chapter Text
Tim wakes up to Lucy tossing and turning, and he sits up a bit. He looks over to see Lucy twisted up in the covers. And even in the dark, he can see she’s sweating.
“Lucy.” He says softly shaking her shoulder a little. He hates that he gave whatever he had to Lucy. He hates that she probably is going to wake up not feeling well. Lucy doesn’t stir, so he shakes her again.
“Luce.” He mutters. She blinks one eyes open at him and then another.
“What?” She mumbles. “What’s wrong?” Tim sighs softly, and puts his hand on her forehead.
“I think you caught whatever I had. You are burning up.” He says. She smirks at him, or tries to.
“If you think I’m hot, just tell me.” She says. Tim rolls his eyes and slides out of bed. He goes to the bathroom to get all the supplies. And then comes back to see she’s rolled to her side trying to kick the blankets off.
“Let me take your temperature.” He says. She sighs but opens her mouth and he puts it under her tongue.
He runs his fingers through her hair, and then it beeps.

“This is all your fault.” She mutters. “Getting me sick like this.”
“Mmm.” Tim says. He grabs the water and Advil and presses into her hands. “I’m sorry.”
“You are a jerk.”
“You love me.” He says. He sets the water bottle aside and then watches as she adjusts herself, curling up a little.
“Not when you get me sick.” She says. “Now you have to take care of me.” Tim smiles at her, and pulls the blankets on top of her. He didn’t mind that he would have to take care of her, she took care of him. She literally spent her day off tending to his needs.
And he knows without a doubt she would do it again.
Just like he would take care of her, no matter what. “Of course I will take care of you.” Tim says. Lucy blinks at him like she’s surprised and then she burrows herself further into the blankets.
“Okay.” She says. He chuckles and gives her a kiss. She needs to rest for right now.
“You just rest Luce.” Tim says softly. “I will be in the other room if you need me.” Lucy nods and Tim turns around to leave the room, he leaves the door slightly open and then he makes his way into the kitchen. It’s still a little messy from last night, he should have known Lucy didn’t feel well.
She hadn’t been in the mood for anything. And had dragged him to bed to cuddle with her before he could clean up the kitchen.
He sighs as he wipes down the counters, and then cleans the sink. He really does feel bad for getting her sick.
It was a horrible feeling, feeling hot, head hurting and muscles aching. He hadn’t been hungry just extremely fatigued.
“Tim!” Lucy calls. Tim drops the sponge and hurries to the room, Lucy is sitting up in bed looking pale and exhausted.
“Yes Luce?”
“Can you get me some more water?” She asks.
“Of course.” He says. He turns around and goes to the kitchen and fills up a glass of water. He is just heading back when she calls his name again.
“Tim!”
He quickens his steps to get to the bedroom, and walks in putting the glass on the table.
“Can you turn on the shower? I want to take a cold shower.” Lucy says. Tim nods and heads to the bathroom. He turns on the shower, and waits for Lucy to come in but she never does.
“Luce?” He calls out. But there is no answer, he peeks his head out and sees her laying in bed still. “I thought you wanted a shower?”
“I do.” She says. “It’s hard to get up.” Tim sighs, and goes on to help her up. She leans against him and he presses a kiss to the top of her head.
“Go take a shower baby.” He says. “I will get you some clean clothes.” Lucy nods and heads into the bathroom.
Tim picks out some clean clothes for her, and then lays them in the bathroom with a clean towel.
He leaves the bathroom and goes to the living room to clean up some more. He listens carefully to the shower turning off.
It finally does and he goes back into the bedroom just as Lucy comes in dressed and still looking tired and sick.
“Feel better?” He asks. Lucy shrugs as she climbs back into bed.
“My muscles ache and my head hurts.” She says. Tim sighs sympathetically and helps her with the covers.
“I’m sorry Luce.” He says. “It will get better.” Lucy blows out and breath and burrows back down into the sheets.
“You owe me for getting me sick.” She says and her voice is a little muffled by the blankets. Tim laughs and sits on the edge of the bed.
“I don’t mind taking care of you Lucy.” He says. “I hate that you are sick, and I just want to make you better.”
“You being here makes it better.” She says. Tim smiles, and then stands up as her eyes start to close.
“Tell me when you are hungry.” He says. “I will make you some soup.” She nods and then her eyes are closed.
Tim leaves the room, not sure what to do at this point. He sits down on the couch and turns on the tv at a low volume so he doesn’t wake Lucy.
It’s about a half and hour later, that he hears her stirring in the room. He gets up and peeks his head into the room.
“You good?” He asks her. She nods and bites her lip a little looking hesitant.
“I’m not hungry but I know I need to eat.” She says softly. Tim gives her a soft smile, and he knows what she means.
“I will make you soup babe.” He says. “It will settle your stomach a little bit.” She nods and he leaves the room, he goes to the kitchen and he heats up the soup. And then carries it back to Lucy. She sits up in bed and takes it from him, looking down into the bowl.
“I know you aren’t hungry Lucy.” He says gently. “But it will help.” She nods and raises the spoon to her mouth and eats the soup. She takes another and another. After the fifth one, she puts the bowl aside and lays down on the pillow.
Tim pulls the covers up, and presses a kiss to his head. “Just rest Lucy.” He says gently. “I will be here when you wake up.”
“Stay.” She says tugging him down. “I need cuddles.” Tim laughs and gives her a kiss and then goes around to climb into bed with her.
He pulls her close and he feels her relax a little. “Thanks for taking care of me.” She says. “I know you would probably want to be somewhere else.”
“No place I would rather be.” He replies pressing a kiss to her hair. “I will always take care of you Luce.”
“Good.”
He smiles and listens to her breathing even out a little. And maybe he did have plans outside of the apartment but—
He always wants to take care of Lucy. He wants her to know he always would take care of her just like she would for him.
He loves her, and that’s what you do for someone you love. He feels his eyes start to get heavy, and he hopes Lucy feels better when she wakes up.
He would be right next to her, to help her through this and that’s all that matters to him. He gives her another kiss and he realizes that his favorite place to be is right next to Lucy.
And there’s no place he would rather be.
