Chapter Text
Nile had missed Madrid and the warm weather. Tomorrow, she would have a spa day, but tonight, she longed for hugs from the best huggers in the world. Nile entered the safe house and smiled when she was hit by all the familiar smells. It was good to be home again.
"Nicky? Joe?" Nile asked. "Are you here?"
"More or less," Joe replied as he raised his arm from the sofa with a yawn. "I found out that I'm getting too old to sleep on the ground during missions. My back is complaining."
"Remember," Nile teased. "Considering you are the world's oldest man, you still look good."
"Well, thank you," Joe replied. "If you want a beauty tip, let me know."
Joe got up, and Nile flew into his arm to get a much-needed hug.
"Good to see you again," Joe said. "I thought you had forgotten all about us."
"That won't happen, given we dream about each other," Nile replied. "I hope you haven't had nightmares about it."
"I always have nightmares with everything I have seen," Joe replied. It made Nile look sad. "But that is a conversation for another time. Tonight, we celebrate you have returned home to us alive."
Joe hugged Nile again.
"I can only agree," Nile replied. "Where is Nicky?"
"Out getting food," Joe replied. "He is planning to cook your favourite dinner tonight."
"I can't wait," Nile replied. "Let me shower, and then we can talk."
When Nile came back to the kitchen, Nicky was back with the food. Seconds later, Nicky hugged Nile.
"When was the last time you had a proper meal?" Nicky asked. "You're skinny."
"Well, the last thing I ate was a burned chicken," Nile replied. "It tasted amazing after years with canned food and other things I won't mention."
Nicky looked concerned when he heard what Nile had been eating.
"Nile?" Nicky asked. "Why were you eating burned chicken?"
"For once, I got a story to tell you both," Nile replied with a smile. "A story about Yusuf and Nicolò."
Joe and Nicky looked at each other but looked forward to the story.
