Chapter Text
“Oh, Will…”
He kisses me back.
I reach my hands up to his head and put my fingers in his hair.
He pulls back just far enough to speak.
“You cannot fathom how long I have wanted to do that.”
We continue to make out, his hands on my waist.
I stop to breathe as he kisses all over my face, whispering sweet everythings to me.
“I have loved you since the day I first saw you. You mean so much to me, dear Will. I could just eat you up.”
I kiss him one more time.
“You should probably get back to work now.”
I chuckle.
“I can cancel the appointments, tell them a personal matter came up.”
Hannibal says, kissing me between his words.
“Nope, not doing that, you’re going back to work.”
He frowns.
“Oh stop that. Here, I’ll drive you.”
I provide, starting to walk towards my door.
He is quick to follow, at my heels like a dog.
We get into my car, him in the passenger seat.
As soon as I am sat down, Hannibal reaches over and puts my seatbelt on for me.
I thank him, blushing, and we begin to drive, Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners playing softly in the background.
~
We arrive at Hannibal’s office and enter to the main lobby.
Inside is a short and stout man with a loose fitting blazer over a tight fitting shirt anxiously gibbering at the secretary.
“He’ll be back soon, please sit down and wait patiently.”
“But can you give me an estimate of a time? I’ve been waiting for 27 minutes. Please.”
“No I cannot but- Oh! There he is.”
The man turned on his heel excitedly.
Hannibal takes in a sharp breath.
“Hello, Hannibal!.”
“Mr. Froideveaux. Your appointment ended 2 and a half hours ago, what are you doing back?”
He smiles awkwardly.
“Please, call me Franklyn.”
Oh shit.
It’s that guy.
“And I had forgotten to give you something!”
He hands over an origami rose with slight tremors.
“I made it myself.”
“Franklyn, your gifts are violating the patient/therapist code of conduct.”
He says, putting it in his inner coat pocket.
“But you enjoy them?... Don’t you?”
Hannibal says nothing and walks to his office.
I stare at Franklyn with a blank look on my face.
He looks back quickly and anxiously, leaving as fast as possible.
My mind goes blank and-
I feel a squirming mass under my fingers.
I press tighter.
My eyes focus in on-
Oh God what am I doing?!
My hands are squeezing tight around Franklyn’s neck.
I am in a room I don’t recognize in a house I have never been in before.
“My name is Will Graham, it is some time after 5:19 pm, I am most likely near Baltimore, Maryland.”
I sputter out through ragged breaths.
“How did you- get in- my house?-”
He chokes out.
“I don’t know, just shut up, I don’t know!”
I continue pressing harder and harder, just trying to keep him quiet.
Eventually he stops writhing under my grasp.
I finally breathe, hyperventilating.
I grip my hair and pull, rocking back and forth on the floor.
“What did I do?!”
I yell out into the empty home, my voice echoing back at me.
I pull and pull at my hair, wanting it all to stop.
Tears are streaming down my face.
I get up, stumbling to my car.
I sit down in the driver’s seat and drive.
How do I get home from here?
Should I go home from here?
Where even is “here”?
I spiral into all the questions and worries and before I know it I am at Hannibal’s front door.
I knock.
He probably isn’t going to answer, he’s probably busy with something or other, he probably will look and see it’s me and ignore it, he-
The door opens.
“Will? Is something wrong?”
He asks, most likely at my disheveled state.
I hug him, collapsing into his arms, sobbing slightly.
“Oh, darling…”
