You are an artist that paints murder tableaus. You meet a strange and handsome man at your art show who likes to talk about art and eventually meet his (murder husband) partner and both take an interest in you that verges on obsession at times.
Chapters are labelled with characters POV (ex. You, Will, Hannibal) and chapter titles are based on which character is narrating. I am using the Victorian Flower language often in chapters with their meanings explained, but chapter titles I leave as is. I am using The Language of Flowers: An Alphabet of Floral Emblems which I will add a link to every chapter. For Will's POV, I don't know anything about fishing and I am picking lures that I feel match the vibe

Hannibal looks up into Will's eyes and sees the surrounding chaos sinking into them like screams into a pillow. Will's calm expression is puzzling. Surely, with his empathy, the level of distress around them should short every circuit in his mind.

This is what the story could have been without Hannibal being toxic, manipulative, and abusive towards Will while still keeping the core traits of his character the same (he's still a psychopath, he's still a serial killer, he's still a cannibal).

A consumer of the finer things in life to hide the other consumption he partakes in. Only for his soulmate to spear right through and say that one word. In between the time spent despising the word, he imagines their meeting and only hopes it will be the opposite of the horrible scenarios he forms in his mind.
