Will looked like he'd been shot, and Mike didn't know whether to punch him or kiss him.
"Mike," Will said weakly. "I'm - I'm sorry."
"Sorry doesn't cut it!" Mike shouted. "You made me fall in love with you over and over again and all you have to say is sorry? Sorry? Well, fuck you! Fuck you, William Byers, fuck!"

There was something to be said about the new boy at Mike's high school who looked like ghosts hung around just behind his shoulder and who acted like Mike was the bane of his existence.
Too bad Mike always had a thing for pretty boys that hated him.

Canyon slams into him with the force of a speeding car, knocking him to the ground, his full weight pressed atop his chest. The air rushes from Will’s lungs in one go, leaving him heaving and gasping like a beached fish. Canyon raises the knife above his head. The cold steel catches his reflection for a brief moment, snarling and cold, Will pinned beneath him.
He can’t do anything to defend himself as Canyon brings the knife down.

Hannibal knows love is not an emotion. But the way Will puts to words what they both already know, just because he wants Hannibal to hear it spoken out loud, makes him feel a whole myriad of things that Hannibal is quite sure, make up what love is.
Or,
As Hannibal's relationship with Will progresses through the man's moments of weakness, where Will so generously shares the most tender and delicate parts of himself, so does Hannibal's relationship with his own emotions. Although Will is always the one appearing vulnerable, it is Hannibal that gets stripped bare.

S2 honey-trap era rewrite: Will is honey-trapping like the best damn honey there is, but Hannibal seems to be interested in more than just one kind of honey. Or perhaps Will's mind had been made up, long before any sort of phone-call can take place, and he just needs a little incentive to be true to his desires, except instead of fixing anything, he ends up hurting himself in the process.
Lucky for him, Hannibal Lecter is all too willing to fix it for him.
