Chapter Text
Smart Beavis still had his eyes open when the sun shone through his room. He was exhausted but he couldn't stay asleep
Smart Butthead on the other hand was still asleep on the couch. Smart Beavis decided to get a cup of water to at least calm his nerves.
He walked past the living room and saw him asleep. He felt his heart speed up and debated whether or not to go back into his room.
Smart Butthead heard him and woke up. He sat up while rubbing his eyes. Smart Beavis got startled but played it off by sipping the cup frequently.
“Are you feeling alright?..”
Smart Butthead said sleepily. Smart Beavis looked down into his cup of water and nodded. Not a word left his mouth.
Smart Butthead was confused and slightly hurt, he had been acting distant since last night and it worried him. Smart Beavis ended the conversation quickly and walked into his bedroom.
He had this book he found in an old library a while ago, a human book. It spiked his interest due to it being hidden, so he bought it. He recently found it after forgetting about it and decided to read it.
He opened it up, it was stiff and dusty. He began to read through the first pages, which were quite interesting to him. It was a story about a girl who lived alone in a big city.
As he read more of the book, a male character showed up. The two people became close friends, sort of resembling Smart Beavis’ friendship.
The story progressed to the girl having feelings for the man, making Smart Beavis feel slightly uncomfortable but also a strong sense of understanding.
As he read more, the more Smart Butthead’s journal made sense. He closed the book and shoved it away from himself, not wanting to read anymore.
He thought back to Smart Buttheads journal, the mention of love, and the dream, was starting to click in Smart Beavis’ head.
He felt a huge wave of exhaustion finally hit him, and he got up to lay in his bed. When he got under the covers, he remembered how it felt to lay in Smart Butthead’s arms, and how warm it was.
Once he relaxed, he soon fell asleep.
———-
Smart Butthead was still sitting on the couch when he decided to get up and walk to his room. He walked past Smart Beavis’ room and saw him asleep.
He gazed at him for a little too long, and realized it. He shook out of it and finally went into his room.
He sat on his bed, in silence. His mind started to go off once again, this time about how distant Smart Beavis had been. It worried him, what if he did something wrong?
Maybe Smart Beavis didn't like hanging around him, or maybe it was because of something he said. The possibilities could go on forever.
He felt a heavy weight on his shoulders, and an unfamiliar feeling deep inside his chest. It was not pleasant at all.
As he sat in thought, his mind began to go to the night his comrade scored. It made him feel out of control, and that maybe he shouldn’t have let Smart Beavis do that.
But it was necessary, there was an opportunity and he took it.
It didn’t make Smart Butthead feel any better about it though, he thought it was unfair but he didn’t know why.
The lady didn’t even check in with him afterwards. She left unsaid, and with him alone. She didn’t even check if he was cold or not, which angered Smart Butthead.
He could treat him much better, keeping him warm and happy. But that is wrong, and he’d been ignoring him all day. He didn’t know what to do, but that uncomfortable and unfamiliar feeling was rising and getting stronger.
He laid in his bed, thinking uncontrollably to where he spaced out in the ceiling.
It was unfair.
It should have been him.
That thought made him jump.
He sat up, and blinked a few times. His mind was going too far, and he startled himself but deep down his feelings were true. He didn’t want to admit to himself that they were, but he couldn’t help it.
He went to wash his face to hopefully clear his mind. The house was silent, Smart Beavis was still asleep in his room. He then found his way to the bathroom, and turned the sink on.
He splashed his face with cold water, and dried it off. It didn't help much.
The thoughts were rushing into his head like water from a broken dam. All he could think about was Smart Beavis. His eyes, his ideas, everything…
It was overstimulating, and he fell to his knees.
His eyes burned and his throat felt like it was closing. His heart felt slow, but it was pounding pretty hard.
He started to hyperventilate, the thoughts that wore him down finally crashing on him.
Meanwhile, Smart Beavis’ sleep was interrupted by a thirst for water, and he got out of bed.
Smart Butthead was still freaking out, and he covered his face in shame his eyes soon began to feel…wet. Smart Beavis walked past the bathroom and heard him.
He got concerned and knocked on the door. His previous thoughts slipped his mind.
“Is everything alright?”
Smart Butthead began to freak out even more, and locked the door. He lifted himself up and took a look in the mirror, and gasped.
He had been crying.
His species never cries.
His species never loves.
His species never feels.
He was a disgrace.
Smart Beavis opened the door and saw Smart Butthead in that state. He immediately went to him, and saw he had been crying. Despite the fact Smart Butthead tried his best to clean himself up.
His movements were frantic, and nothing seemed to help him calm down. Smart Beavis grabbed his arm gently and looked at him, confused about what happened.
“What happened? What's wrong Smart Butthead?..”
He got a shaky stammer as a reply. He sat them down on the ground, and watched as he was calming down slowly.
Once Smart Butthead was able to get words out, “It’s okay, everything is okay, I’m just feeling… sick.” He said.
Smart Beavis didn’t fully believe him. He felt his forehead, to which he felt normal.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes..”
Smart Butthead replied quietly.
Smart Beavis stood up and helped him as well. They made it to the couch, and he sat him down.
He went to get him a cup of water and a blanket to help him feel better.
“Thank you…” Smart Butthead whispered as he took a sip before putting it down… it was too cold.
It was awkward for a few minutes before Smart Beavis spoke.
“Are you sure you’re not sick, Smart Butthead?”
Smart Butthead sighed, “What if I’m sick… in another way?” He cringed as he asked that.
“I’m not sure what you mean…” Smart Beavis replied.
Smart Butthead let out another sigh before speaking again.
“Me neither…”
In reality he knew how he was sick, he was lovesick because…
He loved Smart Beavis
