Chapter Text
Another Valentine's season at Hoshishiro Hospital. While it wasn't exactly the most romantic place to celebrate love, the youthful energy of the medical staff still added a certain buzz to the air.
Haruka strolled down the hallway, flipping through a stack of medical files, when he spotted a box of chocolates neatly placed on his desk. Wrapped in bright pink foil with a flashy red ribbon, it was clear that this wasn't from a patient. More precisely…
"Nii-san, did you leave this on my desk?"
Haruki—who had just returned from the hospital cafeteria with a lunch bag in hand—raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"What the hell? I just went to get my lunch. Who’s got time to give chocolates? To you, of all people?"
"If it wasn’t you, then who put it there?" Haruka asked, voice calm as if investigating a serious case.
Haruki glanced at the box and noticed something odd. "Wait, does it have a note or something?"
Haruka turned the box over. Scrawled in wobbly handwriting on the lid were the words:
"To the Prince of Midori – The Most Handsome Doctor in Pediatrics!"
Haruka: "..."
Haruki: "..."
The twins locked eyes for exactly three seconds before instinctively turning toward the hallway. In the distance, Dr. Midori was striding confidently toward his office, wearing the smug expression of a man who had fully expected to receive a ton of Valentine's gifts today.
Haruka scoffed, picked up the chocolate, and walked straight toward the senior doctor.
"Midori-sensei, I think this belongs to you. Doesn't it?"
Midori stopped in his tracks, blinking down at the box in Haruka’s hand. The moment he read the message, his face lit up. "Oh? So, my secret admirer remembered me again this year?"
Haruki folded his arms, glanced at Midori, and then turned to his younger brother with a knowing smirk. "Hey… you touched it, didn’t you?"
"Huh?"
Haruki clapped a hand on Haruka’s shoulder, his expression full of sympathy. "Well, sucks to be you. That’s called indirect chocolate. You touched the box, which means you’re now involved." He let out a chuckle, adding fuel to the fire. "Congrats, you got a Valentine’s gift. Too bad it’s from Midori-sensei."
Midori nodded in agreement, eyes twinkling with amusement. "Mmm, logically speaking, that does check out."
Haruka looked at the box, which now seemed significantly less appealing. He looked at Haruki. Then at Midori. After a brief silence, he shoved the box straight into his twin brother’s hands.
"Well then. You touched it too. Let’s split it."
"FOR GODSAKE-! NO, YOU DUMBASS?!"
"This is mine, gentlemen."
"Then buy me a new one."
"Not happening."
"Gentlemen, please—"
The sound of bickering echoed through the halls of Hoshishiro Hospital. Meanwhile, in a quiet corner, Dr. Fujimoto casually bit into a piece of chocolate he had bought for himself, watching the chaos with a grin.
"Same as every year."
