Chapter Text
Leona had been home in the Savanna for four months and nineteen days. It had only been two weeks since his last visit to NRC.
He really had no reason to be sitting on Ruggie's bed right now. But he was, his hair unbraided, his skin dark and smooth and glowing in the sunlight filtering through Ruggie's curtains. Ruggie was sitting at the top of his bed, legs crossed, painfully aware of how long his hair had gotten. It brushed his shoulders now, long enough to curl up slightly at the ends. He hadn't had the time to cut it- not that Leona seemed to mind.
Their conversation had died out long ago, leaving them to sit in companionable silence. Leona was typing something on his phone, a small furrow between his brows, while Ruggie was...
Well.
Ruggie was just... Watching Leona. Enjoying the moment of silence, a rare moment of peace between them. They bickered so often, moments like this were few and far between.
"You're staring," Leona said, glancing up at Ruggie.
Ruggie shrugged, shameless. "Yeah."
A small tick in Leona's jaw, a barely-there smile. "What for?"
Ruggie flashed his own barely-there smile. "Aren't I allowed to?"
"Maybe. Maybe not. Depends if I like your reason or not."
Ruggie couldn't help but snicker, leaning forward to tug at one soft brown curl. "Maybe I'm just staring because you're so handsome."
Leona looked at him, eyes soft, cheeks reddening ever so slightly. "Oh, yeah?"
"Mmhm." Ruggie leaned in further, kissing Leona's cheek. Leona hummed softly, tilting his head to properly kiss Ruggie.
"Well, I guess I can't find fault in that," he muttered. Ruggie grinned, kissing him again.
He supposed Leona did have a reason to visit NRC again so soon- even if it was just to see Ruggie.
