Chapter Text
The month after the performance were absolutely packed and busy. First off Lance got back to her solo activities, released her debut album and has been doing some promotional work for it. Secondly the band got signed to Altea entertainment so they've been working on releasing their music officially. Lastly since Lance was their singer only for the festival they had to start looking for a new vocalist yet again. The band, lance and her girls have not met up in this time at all, but tonight they have a little party and barbecue planned for Lance her goodbye at Shiro and Adam's place. So right now Keith, Hunk, Pidge, Shiro and Adam are grocery shopping, or rather, Hunk and Adam are shopping the others are walking around and bothering them every now and then. After some time Hunk had decided to give everyone some items to look for in the store. Pidge was tasked with some vegetables, Shiro with meats and Keith with some items for the barbecue itself.
She needed to search around the store for a bit but found everything she needed rather easy, on her way back she walked trough the isle with kids toys and suddenly came to a halt as something in the corner if her eye grabbed her attention. It was a karaoke toy, bright pink with music notes and butterflys all over it, frutiger metro style. It made her think about how she has been so busy with the band, perfecting their music finding the new vocalist and all that, that she barely had any thought for anything else. Somehow this little toy reminded her that her heart that had slowly melted over time had grown colder again, only for it now to warm up again by the thought of a certain person.
"Anything on your mind?" It was Adam who was standing at the end of the isle.
"No not really." Keith replied. She knew she could tell Adam anything but this was something only Keith should have to think about.
"Alright, I'll believe it because you say so. Let's go to the others, there is something really important we need your help for." Adam smiled.
In front of the ice scream section Keith and Pidge were standing next to each other, arms crossed and both with a very serious expression.
"Well it is pretty hot so I think ice cream is the best dessert choice." Pidge said breaking the silence.
"I agree but which one?" Keith said back.
"Hmmm." the two of them thought some more, eyes looking around the freezers in front of them.
"Should we get viennetta?" Pidge proposed.
"We could, should we?"
"No." and so they started thinking again.
"We should totally get one of these." Keith said as she held up a box that was Minecraft ice cream. They both laughed and carried on with their search and eventually settled on 2 boxes of some fancy ice cream mix.

Around the same time some place else Lance, Allura and Romelle were having a little spa day.
"This is soooo what I needed!" Lance says as she sinks herself in the hot tub. Her hair in a hair mask, neatly tucked away in a bun and a white cream face mask on her face. Not having to stress about schedules now that she has finished promoting her debut album, only peace and tranquility. Unfortunately this peace and tranquility didn't last long as the 2 ladies across from her couldn't stop giggling. Lance had forgotten how lovey dovey these two are around each other. With this thought she also remembered what she had missed this past month, the reason for why she had been feeling lonely despite being surrounded by her fans an team the entire time. Enough of this sulking. Lance leaned over the side of the hot tub and poured out 3 glasses of champagne on the table next to it and gave a glass to Allura and Romelle.
"I would like to have a toast, on the succes of this past month, on the team, on you two together and on this moment specifically. Cheers!" She said as she raised her glass with a smile.
6pm and the preparations for the barbeque are in full swing. Hunk and Adam are in the kitchen, Pidge and Shiro are setting up the music and some decorations, and Keith is very entertained by watching everyone. After about an hour Lance, Allura and Romelle arrived and this party could officially get started. Hunk and Adam had really outdone themselves, as per word of basically everyone, skewers, salads, bread spreads, dips, all of it self made. During the dinner there were a lot of stories to be told as both parties hadn't seen each other in a long time, and overtime the conversation shifted to other topics. From long term sweethearts Shiro and Adam, and their rather chaotic double proposal, to some embarrassing stories about young Keith, to stories about Hunk, and back to Shiro and Adam, because everyone is most curious about the wedding. After dinner everyone helps clean up the table, Lance and Hunk start on the dishes, joined by Keith. Keith and Lance had actually barely talked since the festival but luckily Hunk knows how to have a conversation like nobody else. When the dishes were about 80% done Hunk got called back in to the garden to help out with something else leaving Lance and Keith alone again. Now silence fell between the two, only the noise of scrubbing the dishing and the faint noise of drying the dishes. How did the warm and chatty relationship they had suddenly grow so cold? That was the question both of them had their entire thought sequence filled with until one of them couldn't stay silent anymore.
"You are so awfully silent for someone who is my girlfriend." Lance said, breaking the silence. Keith was stunned, Lance was completely right in this. Why did Keith contact the girl she's madly in love with so little?
"I- uh-." Keith still couldn't find the words. Lance put down the dishes washing brush, turned to Keith, took the tea towel out of her hands, put that down as well and grabbed Keith's . She could look Keith in the eyes for about a second until Keith started avoiding her eyes.
"I guess I was, scared." Keith said, the last bit slightly hesitant.
"Scared?" Lance repeated.
"Yes scared." But Lance still didn't seem to understand it as she still had on those puppy eyes of hers.
"Look I've never exactly been in an actual relationship with someone I like as much as I like you and we've been so busy this past month which was like a perfect excuse because I suddenly started thinking about you fans, what they might think, you reputation, and ours so I didn't know what to do." Keith rambled out. Lance couldn't help but laugh.
"Keith," Lance cupped her face and she finally gained the courage to look at her again. Her puppy eyes had turned slightly teary but ultimately they sparkled in the bright kitchen light.
"Your feelings are valid but also incredibly stupid, I could lose my entire career for I care, I just want to be with you. My fans can never replicate what I feel for you so you talking to me is all I care for, please never leave me." Lance ended her sentence with maybe the most beautiful smile Keith had ever seen on her face, so she couldn't help but tear up too. She pulled Lance into a tight embrace.
"I won't and please don't ever leave me." Keith whispered as a tear rolled down her cheek.
They stayed like that for a bit longer before facing each other again. They could not help but melt into a kiss, a warm feeling spread trough out their body, from their heart down to their toes, the feeling that they both missed immensely. It did not take long before the kiss got more passionate as these two could not keep their hands to themselves.
"Ahem." They both jumped slightly and bumped their foreheads in the process. They both put a hand on their head and looked at where the noise came from. It was Adam standing in the doorframe.
"Not in my kitchen please, the guestroom is upstairs." Adam said.
"No, it's fine, we will behave." Lance said a little embarrassed.
"In that case I'm asking for you two to finish the dishes and come back out to the garden."
"Yes! We will!" They responded.
No sooner said than done they finished they dishes and walked out in to the garden, arms around each other.
The remainder of the evening was basically a party, filled with laughter, dancing, some alcohol and lots of singing. Keith and lance were standing on the side, Keith hugging Lance from behind. This evening was truly one of the happiest Lance had in a while but she felt there was one thing missing. She turned around and gave Keith a kiss before walking to the stereo and she turned down the music volume. In response everyone turned to look at her to see what happened.
"Everyone listen, I only have 1 thing to say." She held a moment for anticipation.
"I want to stay and permanently sing for the red lion." The silence was held for a bit longer before everyone started celebrating. Hunk was quick to tightly hug Lance and Swing her a round before putting her down again.
"Amazing decision, you will not regret." Hunk said with a wink while they held each other. Lance turned to look at Keith who looked at her with was probably the brightest smile Lance has ever seen on her. She stepped away from her as Keith started walking her way, swept her off her feet and planted a deep kiss.
