Chapter Text
It had been a few weeks since Toya's death and she hasn't seen him. She may have ice and fire for her quirk. But she has a second hidden quirk that her parents don't know of which is the ability to see and communicate with the dead. Even though she should know he's dead. There's something nagging at her that says otherwise.
"If he's dead, he wouldn't move on so easily. Right..?" She thinks to herself, knowing how Toya is usually resilient and how stubborn he is.
"No. He wouldn't. He's too angry at Endeavor to just- 'move on'. He's probably still alive."
She sighs and just goes downstairs to eat breakfast with her siblings after she got dressed for the day.
She got to the kitchen and sat next to Shoto and across from Fuyumi who's sitting next to Natsuo and starts to eat.
"Are you ok? Fuyumi asks her.
She looks up with a small smile. "I'm fine Yumi." She continues to eat.
Fuyumi watches her for a moment before sighing. "Ok. Just let me know if something changes. Alright?"
She nods. "I know."
"We can't tell them anything. They've already been through too much"
"I know that too."

Later she's in her and Shoto's room, talking to herself. Seemingly in a full blown conversation when Fuyumi comes in.
"Elly..?" She says in a soft and concerned tone, and walks over to sit on the edge of the bed.
She whipped her head around in surprise.
Fuyumi sits and looks at her with concern and pats the bed for Elly to join.
She hesitantly climbs on and Fuyumi sits her on her lap.
"Elly, are you sure you're ok?"
"I a-" she was cutoff.
"Please don't lie to me. Y'know I hate it." She runs her hand over Elly's hair.
She stares down at her hands in silence.
Fuyumi is worried but she doesn't say anything not wanting to interrupt the thought process of her sister. She just holds her a little closer and a little tighter as a reassurance that she's there for her and will listen when she's ready to talk.
After a moment, Elly finds her voice. Small and hesitant, but she still talks. "It's crazy and silly really..." She paused for a moment taking a deep breath and leans into the elder. "But... I still think..." She pauses again before whispering, ^"He's alive... I know it can't be true, but I just- I've never seen his ghost and knowing how resilient and stubborn he wouldn't just- move on. And I know he wouldn't move on without telling us goodbye."^
Fuyumi is silent. Not knowing what to say or even what to believe. She knows that even though Toya's death hit them all hard she knows it's worse for Elly since she was there and couldn't do anything. But, sometime she likes to believe Toya is still alive too, and just decided to finally get away from the abuse and will one day come back for them all. She replies after a moment. "I know what you mean. Maybe not exactly but I get the sentiment. I sometimes think he left to start a better life before coming to take us with him so we can all live the way we should and not in fear." Fuyumi can feel the tears wanting to well up but she holds them back for now.
Elly looks up at her. "Really? You do?"
"Yea. I've stayed up late at night, quite a few times just thinking of scenarios of him coming to get us or what ifs. Like what if he hadn't decided to train that day."
Elly looks back down. "If he is dead it's my fault. I didn't get there in time. If I had just gotten there even a minute sooner-" Her thoughts were suddenly cut off.
"It's not your fault you know."
She looks up surprised. "How did you-"
"Well for one, I am your sister so, sister intuition. Two, it's written all over your face. And it has been. I know you have the survivors guilt but I do promise it's not your fault Elly."
She feels the tears welling up as she glares at her hands, clenching and unclenching them to stop herself from crying when Fuyumi put her hands into her own to keep from hurting herself. "I just- I wish I could've been there sooner."
"I know. I wish I could make it all better for and take away all your pain, but unfortunately I can't. But I can help you, and I'm here for you." Both of them are tearing up now. "Ok? I promise, I'll always be here for you."
She nods burying her face into Fuyumi's chest and the latter kisses her head and holds her silently as they both also silently cry. Holding onto each other as if the other will disappear if they let go.

Later if they end up falling asleep and Shoto stays with Natsuo in his room that night then that's no one else's business.
