Chapter Text
The air in Parts and Service was cold.
Y/n advanced with slow but determined steps. Her hands trembled a little, but her heart was calm.
There was no hatred in her. No resentment. Only the need to close this chapter.
The containment room opened with a metallic hum, revealing a scene that broke her heart.
Sun and Moon were there, locked in a containment room like animals. Their bodies, once their refuge, were chained with long chains that allowed them to move, but flaccid, as if their possessors had lost their reason for living.
At a glance, it was easy to observe that both were connected and possessed the body at the same time. The golden and bluish colors of their faces stood out among the shadows.
Two two-toned eyes rose as she approached.
And time seemed to stop.
"Star..." Sun whispered, his voice broken by surprise.
Moon didn't speak at first. He just looked at her, motionless, as if afraid she was an illusion.
Y/n gave them a sad smile.
"Hello, Sun. Hello, Moon."
The sound of her voice was enough to break the fragile quiet of the room.
"I knew you'd come!" Sun exclaimed, with desperate emotion, pulling at his restraints and going towards the reinforced glass as if he could reach her. "I knew you still loved us."
Moon tilted his head, his eyes gleaming with a trembling light.
"Why are you here?"
Y/n sighed softly.
"I came to say goodbye."
Sun's expression froze.
Moon frowned.
"No..."
"Yes," her voice was calm, but firm. "Today is my last day at the Pizzaplex. I'm leaving."
Sun shook violently, trying to free himself from his long chains.
"No. No, no, no, no. It's not necessary. We're not going to bother you, we promise, but don't go!"
Moon exhaled slowly, as if trying not to cry, but his voice was also a pained whisper.
"You don't have to do this." his voice came out as if he were crying
"Yes, yes I have to," Y/n took a step forward, looking at them with a hard and resigned tenderness. "For you and for me."
"B-But where will you go?"
"I'm going to a very far away, quiet place. I'll move to a nice beach where I can live peacefully."
Sun's eyes filled with pure, desperate emotion.
"Are you leaving because of Eclipse?"
"No. It's not because of him."
Moon clenched his jaw anxiously.
"Are you going to be with him?"
"Yes."
Sun sobbed without tears.
"But you loved us..."
Y/n nodded softly.
"Yes. I loved you," Y/n closed her eyes. "I loved you with all my heart."
Moon closed his eyes as if that could contain his genuine sadness.
"Then... when did we stop being enough for you?"
Y/n felt her chest tighten, but she didn't let guilt invade her.
"It's not that you stopped being enough," she hugged herself. "It's just that the love we had stopped being love."
Sun sobbed louder.
"But we can get it back. We can do it right this time!"
Moon looked at him with the same childish fear, although he tried to maintain his composure.
Y/n gently denied.
"We can't."
The pain on their faces was devastating. The oil vessels around their eyes broke from the strong emotions and the dark oil began to overflow like tears.
Moon looked up with a vulnerability he rarely showed.
"Do you hate us?"
The question hurt more than she expected.
Y/n approached the reinforced glass of the window, reaching out as if she could touch them.
She looked them directly in the eyes.
"No. I could never hate you."
Sun groaned in agony.
"Then, why?"
Y/n swallowed hard.
"Because I love them, no longer romantically, but it's a love strong enough to let them go."
Moon lowered his head, black tears running down his face.
"We don't want to let you go," he cried.
"I know."
Sun raised his face, his eyes glassy with emotions he could only express physically through his oil tears.
"Y/n... we don't know how to live without you."
Y/n closed her eyes with a trembling sigh.
"And I don't want you to live that way," she looked at them with the same affection a woman can give to someone she loved too much. "I want you to be happy," her voice sounded softer. "I want you to find someone who truly loves you and makes you feel complete."
Moon let out a raspy sound in a sob.
"That someone is you."
Y/n smiled sadly.
"Maybe at one time, yes. But not anymore."
Sun looked down, murmuring in a trembling whisper:
"We can't imagine a future without you."
Y/n felt the burning in her chest, but she didn't back down.
"I know. But one day you will."
Moon looked at her with the same silent pain.
"What if we don't want to?"
Y/n took a breath.
"Even so, you will find a way."
The weight of her words fell on them like a storm.
Sun shook his head.
"No, no, no..."
"Please..." he whispered with great pain.
Y/n leaned a little closer, her voice full of sincerity.
"I tried," her eyes shone with the moisture of held-back tears. "I tried everything to make this work. But in the end, we hurt each other."
"We didn't want to hurt you. I know we did, we hurt you, but we didn't want to. We didn't want things to end like this."
"I know. I didn't want to hurt you either."
"Don't leave us."
Y/n looked at them, her first tears falling from her eyes. It hurt her to see how things had ended.
"I'm sorry. I know I also made mistakes that also helped things end the way they are now," she outlined her face on the glass with affection and kissed above the glass where her nose would be. "But we can't go back."
Sun emitted a sound of desperation, his body trembling.
Moon didn't speak, but his eyes begged.
Y/n slipped a letter under the door.
"This is my farewell."
Sun threw himself against the safety barrier, not caring that he couldn't get through it.
"Y/n, please!"
"My love..."
Moon whispered her name, softer than ever.
Y/n stood up.
"I wish you the greatest happiness. Goodbye, Sun. Goodbye, Moon."
And she left.
Sun's screams echoed in the room, desperate, pitiful.
Moon whispered her name, Sun screamed. Both calling her with the sorrows of a broken soul and with black tears of pain and suffering.
But Y/n didn't look back. Tears fell from her eyes.
And with every step she took, the weight on her chest dissipated.
Sun and Moon could redeem themselves, it would surely take time and suffering. But she prayed that they could find true happiness.
She sighed heavily, remembering the words she had written in her farewell letter:
"The Rebirth Between Shadows and Light"
"There was a time when my world was illuminated with the laughter of the sun in your eyes,
and the calm of the moon in your voice.
You were you, Sun, my golden ray, and you, Moon, my silver whisper,
together forging a sky of promises, in a love I believed eternal.
In those days, every "I love you" felt like the warmth of dawn,
every caress, like a verse of a song that never ceased.
We danced together in the light, in a waltz of innocence and dreams,
where hugs were bridges and laughter, wings to fly.
But fate, cruel and capricious, stained our days with shadows.
What was sweet became a chain, and every kiss transformed into a bond
that tied my voice and my being with a weight I could no longer bear.
I learned, painfully, that love that does not liberate
is a prison disguised as heaven.
And so, in the midst of the storm, when the world became cold and dark,
I made the decision to let it go, to free every part of me
that had been trapped in that past.
Today, I look at the sky with peace in my soul, and although I still carry in my chest
the echo of their whispers, I wish them the best,
because my love was not hatred, but an attempt to cling to the impossible.
May they find in their days the true light that illuminates their souls,
and that the tenderness we once shared transforms into the lesson that guides them
towards a future full of hope.
To you, hearts, who have been my beacon in the night,
my refuge, my auroras,
thank you for teaching me that love is not prison, but wings to fly.
Thank you for making me feel that every beat is a rebirth,
every sigh, a promise of love.
And so, as I close this chapter with the ashes of yesterday,
my heart is freed and reborn in a sincere embrace towards tomorrow.
Today I choose to be happy, today I choose to move forward, I carry with me the gratitude of having loved them, and the peace of having learned
that sometimes, letting go is the greatest act of love.
With all my affection and best wishes for those who were part of my story,
and with the longing for a radiant future, where we are all happy, even if we are not together anymore,
I leave you these words, as an echo of what we were
and a beacon of what I will be.
—Y/n.
May the light always guide you,
and may love, in its purest form, embrace you without chains and set you free."
Y/n closed her car and looked at what was now her old house. There were so many memories in that place that she now had to leave behind.
But all the money saved was to move forward and fulfill her dreams and goals.
Everything was already packed and it was time to move on.
"Are you ready, honey?"
Y/n looked at Eclipse who looked at her with those eyes she adored. He no longer resembled Sun and Moon. It was only him.
Her love, her boyfriend.
She couldn't be happier that he was the one accompanying her.
"Did you say goodbye to the kids?"
"Yes. But little Timmy cried a lot."
Y/n smiled tenderly.
"I can imagine."
"Ready for our next DuckAdventures?"
Y/n looked up at the sky and the road ahead.
She smiled and nodded.
"Yes. It's time to go."
Eclipse let out a squeal of excitement and quickly got into the car in the back, where he would have more space.
Y/n took a breath and got into the car and drove towards the city exit.
On the way, she passed by the Pizzaplex, giving it one last look before never looking back again.
"🎶I'm going on the road...🎶 Sing with me, Shrek! 🎶 I can't wait. I'm going on the road...🎶"
Y/n laughed and continued on.
This would be the beginning of something big and beautiful.

The sun was beginning to set on the horizon, dyeing the sky with warm shades of orange and pink. The sea breeze was soft and refreshing, bringing with it the relaxing sound of the waves breaking against the shore.
Y/n walked along the sand, feeling the warmth of the day gradually dissipate. Beside her was Eclipse, as smiling as ever. And between them was their five-year-old adopted daughter, a little girl with curly hair and eyes full of curiosity.
Both held her hands as the three walked along the beach like a happy little family.
Around them, their pet, a playful dog named Chuleta, ran excitedly, chasing the seagulls that flew away fluttering.
It had been a year since they left everything behind. A year since they closed a painful chapter and opened another full of love and tranquility.
"Mommy, Daddy," the girl called with a radiant smile. "I made a lot of friends at daycare today. Do you think they'll come again tomorrow?"
Y/n and Eclipse exchanged a look full of complicity.
"Of course, star," Eclipse replied in his warm and protective tone. "Daycare will always be full of children eager to play."
Y/n felt her heart swell with love. Opening her own daycare with Eclipse had been the best decision. Now they could care for and guide the little ones without the shadows of the past haunting them.
They stopped for a moment, watching their daughter run with Chuleta to the edge of the sea, leaving small footprints in the wet sand.
Eclipse put a long arm around her shoulders and pulled her close, resting his metallic cheek on her head.
"What are you thinking about, honey?" he whispered, his voice full of tenderness.
Y/n sighed, closing her eyes for a moment.
"About how my life took unexpected turns. I always dreamed of this life, but the path that led me here was very different from the one I thought it would be," she admitted with a melancholic smile. "But I'm quite happy, because I was able to fulfill my dream with you," she tapped between her fingers. "My adorable husband."
Eclipse looked at her with hearts in his eyes and hugged her tighter, conveying without words all the love he felt for her. Finally, he leaned down and pressed several soft kisses against her forehead.
"I'm glad to be part of your dream, my beloved wife," he whispered.
Y/n raised her head to look at him, her eyes shining with emotion.
"I love you, Eclipse."
He smiled, with that unique sweetness that made her feel completely safe.
"And I love you, my heaven."
They stayed like that for a moment, embraced while the sea continued to sing its eternal melody. Their daughter laughed in the distance, their pet barked happily, and the breeze danced around them like a whisper of fate.
Y/n closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
She had made the right decision.
She had chosen the right love.
And finally, she was living without fear and with her most beloved beings.
"Sometimes, the paths you least expect are the ones that lead you to true happiness.
Trust the journey, even when it hurts.
Because in the end, there is always a sunrise waiting for you."
THE END
