You! Me! Dancing!

Chapter Text

Itadori sat on the edge of Fushiguros bed, kicking her feet off of the bed. She was  watching as the girl braided a small section of her hair meticulously, fidgeting with her own white button ups sleeve.

The two girls had decided to get ready together so that they could arrive at the same time and walk there together, and since Itadori didn't want to be too uncomfortable while Fushiguro took five million years to finish getting dressed, she opted to not put her suit jacket on until they were about to leave.

The two hadn’t spoken much in the hour that they had been together, mostly just listening to music and staring at each other admiringly. The music was all thanks to Fushiguro, who was forcing Gojo to buy her a music subscription every month.

Itadori was snapped out of her daze by her phone ringing, Kugisaki interrupting one of her millions of chances to admire Fushiguro and the focused look on her face that Itadori loved so much.

”Hey,” Itadori greeted as she pried her eyes away from the black haired girl standing in front of her mirror, the girl quirking her brow at her in response to the sudden call and the sound of a conversation starting up.

”When are you guys gonna get here?” Kugisaki asked immediately, speaking much louder than usual, and Itadori assumed he must be waiting for the two girls, most likely annoyed at the two for not being there already.

”I don't know dude, maybe like twenty minutes? Don’t you have a date to go bother?” Itadori chided, wanting to poke fun at the boy who had been talking about asking out his crush from a different school for what felt like months, though Itadori wasn’t sure if he had actually asked the boy.

”He’s coming with Maki, yknow, since they are brothers and all. God, I see why you needed tutoring so bad, Fushiguro must not be such a dick, I almost feel bad for her,” Kugisaki replied with a scoff, and if Itadori was with the boy in person she knew he would be rolling his eyes at her aggressively.

”I can't believe you asked out Makis brother, I thought you two were like best friends, isn't that awkward?” Itadori asked with a grin, Fushiguro fully turned to face the girl, obviously intrigued by the sudden change in conversation as they began to talk about her family.

”Yeah, well you're dating his cousin and you’re friends with him too, so I don't wanna hear it. I'm sick of you, just hurry up and finish getting ready and get your asses over here,” Kugisaki demanded with a sigh, immediately ending the call after, not even waiting for Itadori to reply. The room fell silent again, safe for the faint music that had been playing the whole time, though it was much lower since Fushiguro must’ve turned it down to listen in on the call.

Fushiguro turned back to the mirror as the call ended, taking a pearl hair clip and using it to clip together the two small braids she had been focusing on for the last few minutes.

”I’m honestly shocked that Mai got into a relationship, he’s a real dick,” Fushiguro began mindlessly as she fumbled slightly with her hair clip, and Itadori turned to look at the girl through her reflection in the mirror, a faint smile splaying on her lips.

Itadori hummed in acknowledgment, not really sure what to say to the girl. She watched as Fushiguro stood up when her hair was finally pinned, turning around and walking toward Itadori, both girls now ready to head to the school.

Fushiguro extended a hand toward the pink haired girl sitting on her bed, and Itadori grabbed it gratefully, allowing herself to be pulled up by the pretty girl in front of her. Yuji did a slight jumping and let out a loud huff to elicit a small laugh of amusement from Fushiguro.

Itadori quickly grabbed her tux jacket, and her bow tie beside it. She was never a fan of dresses, and she still wasn't, and for events like these she always wore a suit even though she never learned how to tie a tie. She always had Choso do it since she had practice doing it for her boyfriend.

She threw on her jacket quickly, buttoning it unevenly, her agile fingers aligning the buttons incorrectly, a light chuckle coming from where Fushiguro stood.

When she looked up from her second attempt at buttoning her jacket she saw Fushiguro smiling at her fondly, and she flushed slightly at the girl's watchful eyes.

”Do you need help?” the black haired girl asked as she stepped forward, hands already on the buttons, directly over Itadoris own shaky hands.

Itadori smiled at the girl, moving her hands as she nodded quickly. She watched the girl intently, seeing how the her slender fingers moved with such precision, her long nails painted a dark red to match Itadoris bow tie.

She admired the way the Fushiguro looked with her subtle makeup on, her long lashes making her emerald eyes pop even more than they did normally, looking exceptionally beautiful with the way her hair was done and how everything complimented her perfectly.

Itadori really didn't think it was possible for the girl to look more beautiful, but every time she saw her she thought that she looked perfect, and that no one would ever look as good as she did,

When Fushiguro had finished buttoning her jacket for her she smiled at her sweetly, the loving look in her eyes something that Itadori wished she could always see. Fushiguros hands were resting lightly on Itadoris chest as they stared at each other, Fushiguro moving one of her hands to push a piece of her short pink hair gently behind her ear.

Itadori still had her bow tie clutched in her hand, and just as Fushiguro was about to close the gap between them she leaned back asking, “Oh, do you need help with your tie too?”

”Yeah, my sister always does it for me, but you know,” Itadori admitted with a shrug, handing over the tie sheepishly, Fushiguro tying the bow tie slowly, so as not to mess up.

Itadori sighed solemnly, upset at the fact that Fushiguro didn’t close the gap between them, wanting nothing more than to feel her lips on her own once more. She really hoped that when she finished tying her tie she would kiss her, and if she didn’t she would kiss Fushiguro herself.

When the girl finished putting the tie around her neck she straightened it out for the girl, patting her down, nodding when she thought that she looked presentable.

“Alright, we probably should leave,” Fushiguro recommended, grabbing Itadoris hand as she began to walk out of her room, Itadori pulling away from Fushiguro.

Fushiguro stopped in her tracks, looking back at Itadori with furrowed brows as Yuji stepped forward, wrapping her arms around Fushiguros waist.

Yuji leaned in, planting a soft kiss to Fushiguros lips, Fushiguro kissing back, both girls smiling into the kiss as it deepened.

After a few seconds Itadori pulled away, grinning sheepishly at Fushiguro as she spoke, “We should probably go now, or Kugisaki might kill me.”

“Yeah, I tried to say that but you just had to stop us. My lipstick better not be messed up, I don’t wanna look stupid because of you,” Fushiguro replied as she rubbed the lipstick from their kiss off of Itadoris face.

The two girls left Fushiguros room after they both made sure nothing was on their faces, and when the two girls reached the door they both slipped on their shoes. Itadoris was wearing a pair of black dress shoes, while Fushiguro had a pair of black heels, and although the heel wasn't too high, Itadori knew it would still be a bitch to walk in. She hated the few times she had to walk in heels, and when she almost twisted her ankle the last time she wore heels she decided to retire them.

The girls left the apartment when they both knew they had everything they needed, and as they headed down the stairs Fushiguro groaned loudly, “God, I don't know why I told Gojo not to pick us up, I hate walking in heels.”

“You need me to carry you?” Itadori asked immediately, Fushiguro flushing at the sincere question. Itadori really didn’t want Fushiguro to hurt herself, and if it meant she had to carry her she wouldn’t mind.

”It's fine, the walk isn't too bad,” Fushiguro replied stubbornly, running her fingers through her soft black hair quickly before they exited the staircase.

Fushiguro probably thought that the walk would be like how it normally was when they were on their way back to the apartment after school, but Itadori had a feeling that Fushiguros feet would be aching after a few minutes of walking.

The further the girls walked from the apartment, the farther Fushiguro fell behind. Normally, the tall girl was always a few paces ahead of Itadori, but now, every so often Itadori had to wait for her to catch up to her.

After a few minutes of walking, Itadori was waiting for Fushiguro again, and she watched as the girl tripped over herself, letting out a frustrated grunt, the pair of heels clearly bothering her.

Itdori walked back toward the girl who was cursing under her breath, resting a hand on her shoulder to catch her attention, a bright smile on her face when Fushiguro looked at her.

“Just let me carry you,” Itadori insisted, the girl looking at her with frustration, before she huffed out an agreement.

”Whatever, it's better than driving with Gojo,” she scoffed as she let her hands fall at her side, allowing Itadori to be able to pick her up.

Itadori bent her knees slightly, wrapping an arm under the girl's knees and the other behind her back, Fushiguro getting the memo and wrapping her arm around Yujis shoulder.

She lifted the taller girl up bridal style, the girl's face immediately being buried into Itadoris neck, her other long arm wrapping around her neck as well.

”You okay?” Itadori questioned as she began to walk toward the school, the girl nodding as she moved her head from her neck to her shoulder, allowing herself to relax the closer they got to the school.

The walk wasn't very long, and she set her down softly when they arrived at the school, Fushiguro straightening out her dress when she was stably on the ground, shooting a glance to Itadori when she was ready to walk in.

Itadori extended a hand to the girl, intertwining their fingers easily when the girl set her hand in Itadoris, and they walked into the school silently.

As the two made their way through the school to the inner court where the dance was being held, Itadori tried to keep an eye out for Kugisaki, wanting to see him with his date since she had never seen a photo of the boy. Maki never even brought the boy up, and everytime Yuji asked Kugisaki to see a picture of the boy he scoffed and walked off.

She couldn’ find the boy on the way to the dance, but right as she and Fushiguro entered where the dance was being held she saw the boy speaking animatedly with Maki, Inumaki, and another boy, who she assumed was Mai, his date, judging by the hand wrapped around his waist.

Itadori led Fushiguro to the table quickly, the girl following her wordlessly, their hands still interlocked, the feelings of their hands together now extremely familiar to the two since they normally walked hand in hand ever since they had started dating.

When the two finally reached the group Itadori was able to get a good look at Kugisakis date, a green haired boy who looked quite similar to Maki, minus the glasses and with shorter, shaggier hair, making his sultry eyes pop. Itadori could also admit Fushiguro had a point, Mai looked much meaner than Maki, which had to be an accomplishment of sorts. She assumed the meanness ran in the family.

”Geez, took you long enough,” Kugisaki chided when he noticed the girls, smirking when he saw the girls' two hands intertwined, clearly about to make a comment about the two.

“I said we’d leave in like twenty minutes, and we got here in twenty minutes, so I don’t know why you’re complaining,” Itadori replied with a chuckle, smirking right back at the boy and raising her eyebrows at the hand softly holding the green haired boys waist, Kugisakis smug look immediately dropping as he rolled his eyes at Yuji.

“You guys are so gross, I hate couples,” Maki chimed in with a scoff, crossing his arms over his chest, his dark blue tie bunching up as he meanly side eyed the two sets of couples in front of him.

Inumaki stood beside him silently playing on her phone, wearing a plain white dress. If Itadori was being honest, she had a feeling  the girl would be playing on her phone the whole time, so there was really no point in her being there.

“I’m going to get a drink,” Fushiguro notified the group quickly, dropping Itadoris hand and making a beeline for the food and drink table, and Itadori realized she should’ve gotten something from the table before she made her way to the group.

Itadori noticed the Kugisakis date hadn’t addressed her yet, which she thought may be a good thing since the boy seemed like he would say something rude to her. Yuji thought the boy looked familiar, not just because he was related to Maki and Fushiguro, but she could've sworn she had seen him before.

She decided not to ask the boy anything, knowing she must’ve seen him from one of his friends from a different school, probably one of her closest friends, Todo.

Kugisaki had begun talking again, the rest of the group chatting, and she tapped her fingers along to the music being played in the background, only half listening to what everyone around her was saying.

After a few minutes she began to look around for Fushiguro, seeing that her date was standing in the corner speaking with Gojo, and she was shocked to see that the girl seemed to be smiling.

She was glad that Fushiguro could actually be civil with Gojo, and that she made it known she really did care for her, so she waited patiently until they were done and Fushiguro came back over to the group to ask the girl to dance with her, not wanting to interrupt the bonding moment between the two.

They had cycled through three more songs before she saw Fushiguro approaching the group, and she began to make her way toward her as well, meeting her in the middle.

“Hey, I was wondering if you’d wanna dance with me?” Itadori asked when they were close enough, a childlike grin on her face, more than excited to get to dance with Fushiguro.

Fushiguro smiled right back at her, nodding as she grabbed Yujis hand. The two began to make their way to where everyone else was dancing, joining them all.

The song was pretty upbeat, and neither girl really knew what to do, and they stood there awkwardly, still smiling at one another, though the smiles quickly turned to laughs the longer the song progressed.

When the song was over they heard a quiet, more romantic song, and Itadori grabbed for Fushiguros hands, pulling her as close as she could, their bodies pressed together firmly.

Itadori loved being close to Fushiguro, and she always loved dancing with her because it meant she had an excuse to hold the gorgeous girl close, and she truly hoped that Fushiguro would need her to be her partner for a dance at her next recital.

She wrapped her arms around the girl's waist, and although she was a few inches taller than her in her heels, Fushiguro still wrapped her arms around the pink haired girl's neck, laughing lightly at the strange positioning.

“What were you and Gojo talking about?” Itadori asked into Fushiguros ear softly, her breath ghosting Fushiguros neck. Yuji was swaying from side to side slightly, her date doing the same.

“Oh, she was just bugging me about pictures and stuff,” Fushiguro explained easily, meeting eyes with Itadori, a fond smile on her face, “she wants us to take some pictures for her later.”

Yuji nodded in acknowledgment at her statement, excited that they would be taking pictures so that she could always remember how good Fushiguro looked tonight.

While they continued to dance Yuji began admiring the look of contentment on Fushiguros face, and the happy shimmer in her gorgeous green eyes as they shared the intimate moment, and Itadori just knew she was grinning like an idiot from ear to ear.

“You know, I really really like you, Fushiguro,” Itadori spoke as she leaned impossibly closer to the girl, wanting nothing more than to feel the warmth of Fushiguro on her skin and to be close enough to see every little detail on her face. There was a slight flush to Yuji's freckled, tanned cheeks as she finished speaking, only realizing how stupid her “confession” sounded after it left her mouth.

“I know,” the girl replied with a laugh, shaking her head slightly at the obvious comment, “I really like you too, Yuji.”

Itadori flushed even more, shocked at hearing the girl say her name, though she wasn’t complaining. She was one of the only people who had ever called her Yuji, besides her sister and grandmother, and maybe a few of her teachers.

The way it rolled off Fushiguros tongue was perfect, and when it hit her ears she knew that she was the only person she would ever want to hear say it to for the rest of her life. She knew that hearing anyone else say her name would never compare to how Fushiguro said it, and she also knew that no one could ever make her feel the same rush she felt when Fushiguro said her name, or even stared at her lovingly.

Itadori leaned to the side, parting her lips slightly as she and Fushiguros lips met, the girl's soft lips adding an extra warmth to her.

She kissed Fushiguro softly, wanting to get to know the inner and outer workings of everything about the girl, and she didn’t think starting with her lips was too bad an idea.

After a few seconds they parted, and Itadori kept her arms tightly wrapped around the dark haired girl's waist, forehead resting against the other girls as she smiled.

“You’re perfect Megumi,” Itadori spoke quietly, Fushiguro flushing brightly at the comment, her mouth turning into the most gorgeous smile Itadori had ever seen.

Fushiguro leaned in once more, kissing her softly again, this time more quickly, before they continued to dance, never once leaving each other's side the whole night.
