Chapter Text
Damnit damnit damnit.
This is so stupid. What am I even doing!
If any gods from any pantheons, yeah even you guys, Odin and uh…. Horus?… please give me the strength to not back down.
I ran as quickly as I could over to where Octavian and the others stood. Why the heck did I not remember any of this until last night!
I clutched the journal to my chest as I slashed my way through the monsters (also, Octavian, what on Earth were you thinking when you went for monster lackeys from the Triumvirate…) hoping to reach them in time.
”Hey Vivi, catch!”
Octavian fumbled the book whilst I swiftly sliced through the fabric of his tunic, summarily cutting him free of the onager. Trust my friend to have a mental break or something at such an important time. Aaaand now for the part of my plan I hate. A lot. Words cannot describe how bad this plan is.
I grinned widely, “see you in hopefully a number of decades, make sure you read that.”
I saluted him, before tipping my cap to Nico and the blondie.
Well, I guess there’s nothing for it…
I took in a deep breath, gave the still confused Octavian a peck on the cheek (gotta do that at least once), and hopped on the onager, sending myself careening into Gaia and The Valdezinator.
The pain? Excruciating.
The idea to carry a ton of Greek fire and mild explosives? An act of madness.
The cool factor? Would be better if I wasn’t dead, but hey, someone had to take the hit (literally, I think I splattered over Gaia, but hey, someone had to do this, or fate would’ve been messed up or something. A life for a life as old grandpa Mars used to say, probably).
And that was the end to my 18 years as the legacy grandchild of Mars and Aphrodite. Hopefully my good deeds around camp as unofficial mother hen would result in me not in the fields of punishment or something.
