Chapter Text
Aizawa had the class gathered around the room, as they all wondered what they were about to do for the day.
Aizawa sighed. “Today we’ll be doing something different from what we usually do. You’ll have three instructors: All Might, Thirteen, and myself.”
Deku gasped. “Three pros? Is that because of the break in?”
Tenya raised his hand. “Sir! What kind of training is this?”
Aizawa rubbed his eyes. “Rescue. You’ll be dealing with natural disasters, shipwrecks, things like that.”
Himiko could hear her classmates talking among themselves.
Himiko turned to Ochako, Tenya, and Deku.
“Do you think they’ll have people acting as victims?”
Deku placed a hand on his chin. “Huh, I didn’t think about that.”
Ochako frowned. “Oh jeez, I hope not. That’s a lot of pressure, even if they aren’t real victims in a disaster.”
Tenya shook his head. “Uraraka! This could be perfect practice and it’s very realistic!”
Himiko scoffed. “Still, it would be a lot for the beginning of the school year.”
“Guys. I’m not done.”
The class immediately went quiet when Aizawa spoke.
“What you wear for this exercise is up to you. I know you’re excited about costumes… but keep in mind that you haven’t gotten used to them yet, and they might limit your abilities. This special training is at an off-campus facility, so we’ll be taking the bus to get there. That’s all, get ready.”
Himiko changed into her costume and spun around. “Yep, still cute!”
She turned to Ochako who, in her opinion, looked even cuter.
Ochako caught her staring and smiled. “You ready Himiko?”
She nodded. “Of course I am,” She looked at their other classmates, “Seems like everyone chose to wear their costumes. Well almost everyone.”
Ochako looked over to see Deku was wearing his gym clothes.
She tilted her head. “Deku? Why are you wearing your PE clothes?”
Deku rubbed the side of his head. “You saw it after combat training. It was kinda trashed. I'm still waiting for it to get fixed.”
Himiko nodded. “That makes sense, the thing was completely destroyed. Ooh! Maybe you could ask for it to be cuter! No offense but it wasn’t pretty.”
Ochako glared at her. “Himiko!”
Himiko raised her hands in defense. “He said it was trashed!”
Ochako crossed her arms. “Yeah, but you didn’t have to insult how it looked.” She turned to Deku. “I’m sorry, you haven’t known Himiko for too long, but this is just how she is.”
Deku shook his head. “Don’t worry, it’s fine. I know she’s not trying to be mean.”
A whistle blew and the three turned to the sound.
Tenya pocketed the whistle. “Gather around Class 1-A. Using your student numbers, form two neat lines so we can load the bus efficiently.”
Deku smiled. “Iida’s really kicking it into high gear as our class rep, huh?”
Himiko sighed. “Tell me about it.”
Once everyone was on the bus (Himiko was sitting next to Ochako) Tsuyu turned to Deku.
“Hey Midoriya, since we’re pointing out the obvious, then there’s something I wanna say… about you actually.”
Deku stared at her, confused. “About me? What is it Asui?”
Tsuyu looked annoyed at this. “I told you to call me Tsu, anyways your power’s a lot like All Might’s, don’t you think?”
Deku yelped. “Oh really? You think so?”
Himiko placed her finger against her cheek. “Hm, you’re right Tsu. I never thought about that before.”
Ochako cut in. “Hold on, All Might doesn’t hurt himself though.”
Eijiro seemed to hear this and turned to them. “Still, I bet it’s cool to have an augmenting-type of quirk. You can do a lot of flashy things with it. My hardening quirk is strong but it doesn’t look too impressive.”
Deku shook his head. “Oh, no way, I think it’s really awesome looking. You’re definitely pro material with a quirk like that!”
Himiko nodded. “While I disagree with Deku about your quirk being flashy, I do think you’ll be a great pro. And if you’re really worried about your quirk being flashy then just make yourself noticeable. Like with your costume or your personality, but not Endeavor’s personality. I don’t suggest acting like him.”
Aoyama hummed. “Well my laser palms have the perfect combination of flashiness and strength!”
Mina placed a hand on his shoulder. “But it’s way lame if it hurts your hands, sweetie.”
Kirishima grinned. “Well, if any of our classmates have pro quirks it’s Bakugo and Todoroki.”
Tsuyu shrugged. “Sure, but Bakugo’s always angry so he’ll never be popular.”
Bakugo stood up from his seat. “The hell did you just say?! I’ll kick your ass!”
Himiko let out a laugh. “Oh, she’s right! Kind of hard to be popular if you’re a jerk to everyone, don’t you think?”
One of Bakugo’s eyes twitched. “I’ll kill you!”
Denki smirked. “You know we just met you. So it’s kinda telling that we all know your personality is flaming crap mixed with garbage.”
Bakugo gritted his teeth. “You’re gonna regret the day you ever enrolled in this school, loser!”
Himiko could hear Momo mutter about how disgusting the conversation was. And yet Himiko couldn’t help but find the situation comical, as well as confusing. She’d never had this much fun in her old classes, was it normal to feel so much joy with classmates?
“Hey, hey, we’re here. Stop messing around.”
Everyone went silent as Aizawa spoke, once he was done they all got off the bus to find a woman in a spacesuit. It was a pro hero that Himiko surprisingly recognized. Although the only reason she did was because the hero in front of them, Thirteen, was one of Ochako’s favorites.
Thirteen had a joyful tone to her voice. “I’m so excited to show all of you what’s inside!”
When they went inside the giant dome like building Himiko’s eyes widened. The place was huge, whatever she’d been expecting it wasn’t this. There were six areas and all of them were different. One of them was on fire, another looked like a lake with boat, and plenty of others.
Himiko stared at the boat, which looked cramped. “I hope I don’t have to work over there.”
Thirteen turned to look at the place and pointed at every area. “A shipwreck. A landslide. A fire. A windstorm. Et cetera‐‐ I created this training facility to prepare you to deal with different types of disasters. I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. But, you can call it, USJ!”
As Thirteen kept talking more and more Himiko grew less interested, and began to space off. She noticed a tiny black dot in the distance.
She squinted at it, her eyes widening, when she realized that it wasn’t a random dot, it was a portal that was starting to become bigger.
She turned to Aizawa who hadn’t seemed to realize what was happening just yet.
She ran over to him. “Mr. Aizawa, something is wrong.”
She pointed to the portal.
Aizawa’s eyes widened, before turning to Thirteen.
“That’s all I have to say, thank-”
“Thirteen!”
Thirteen turned to Aizawa, the eyes on her helmet shaped into a look of confusion.
Aizawa pointed to the door. “Get the kids out of here, now!”
Himiko was still staring at the portal, she stepped forward, trying to get a better look, there had to be more to it then just it being a simple void of nothingness.
She jumped back when she saw someone come through, then another, and another.
“Mr. Aizawa-”
Before she could finish one of the men noticed her, his arm stretched out and grew, he grabbed her, lifting her into the air. She felt the hand close around her. She felt her oxygen leaving her, finding it hard to breathe.
It’s just like before. She thought to herself.
She was unable to see anything or hear the words of her classmates. All she could hear were muffled screams, and the beating of her heart.
