Chapter Text
The crack of thunder rang through the small house. It had started raining only mere minutes ago but now that it was raining, it was pouring. Tunner shifted position on his couch, his chest throbbing slightly. At least his ribs weren’t broken anymore.
The being, which was technically Mr. Sun, though Tunner had a hard time believing the joyful, witty star he knew was actually a flaming beacon of light, had immediately set to work helping them, doing what they could to restore the vital parts of everyone and reducing their pain as much as possible.
Of course, it was perfect. Raddy definitely wouldn’t be able to walk ever again considering he had no legs, but at least he wasn’t bleeding out anymore, and on top of that he got the missing half of his face back, minus his missing eye. Oren no longer had a gaping hole in his chest, but he did have a pretty nasty scar, and Pinki was doing much better as well considering her face was no longer ripped apart. The others all got their chance to be treated; Kx was no longer missing any flesh, though he was missing large patches of fur, and even Sky was doing alright.
Mr. sun had managed to help Sky enough to the point that there was practically no damage. The only thing that wasn’t fixable was Sky’s missing eye.
Sky, for some reason, was absolutely giddy about the fact that he would have to wear an eye patch. Of course, Tunner was aware that Sky loved pirates, so that was probably why.
Then there were the monsters.
Vinera had seemingly come back to herself after the disappearance of Hatter, and surprisingly enough her eyes still worked. Relatively the same had happened with Durple, despite being nearly twice his original size he seemed to be mostly himself, just extremely disoriented. He’d shown up mumbling about waking up outside the amphitheater and wondering what happened to everyone.
The only problems that had arisen were with Wenda and Simon. Wenda had been incredibly horrified to find out what had happened, it turned out that she hadn’t been conscious of any of the atrocities that were commited. After spending nearly an hour apologizing and trying to see what she could do to help, she had ended up secluding herself to an empty corner of the amphitheater. It was a similar problem with Simon, who could only remember being so incredibly starving that his whole body burned.
Simon had ended up sitting next to Brud, who had shown up out of the blue after being gone the entire time. Apparently Brud had been the first person Simon attacked, but of course Brud being, well…himself, he wasn’t mad. He was just sad that his favorite bucket had gotten broken.
“Tunner?” Sky’s voice cut through his thoughts. Tunner looked at Sky, who was wearing a fancy new eyepatch with a moth decal printed on it. With the church being no more, Sky and Jevin had no place to stay—or they wouldn’t if Tunner hadn’t jumped at the opportunity to help them out.
“Is everything alright, Sky?” Tunner asked
“I’m fine, but Jevin is being all ominous and just standing out in the rain. I tried to tell him to come inside, but he won’t listen to me.” Sky said, a slight tone of annoyance in his voice.
Tunner smiled. At least Sky was doing alright after what had happened.
“I’ll take care of it.” Tunner said, getting to his feet.
“Alright, I’m gonna loot your pantry.” Sky said, wandering off towards the kitchen. Tunner grinned, leave it to Sky to put him in a good mood, no matter what happened. He stretched slightly before walking over to the door. Tunner hesitated for a moment before walking over to his bedroom. Propped up against the wall near his bed was a bright blue umbrella. Tunner picked it up and exited the house.
Jevin was standing about three yards away from the house, his back turned to it, just looking up at the rain. His hood had fallen down revealing a tiny pair of wings on either side of his head. Tunner opened the umbrella and walked over to Jevin.
“Figured you could use an umbrella.” He said, holding it over Jevin to shield him from the downpour.
Jevin gazed at the umbrella then at Tunner. “You kept it?”
“I don’t see why I wouldn’t,” Tunner answered. “Is something on your mind, Jevin?”
Jevin remained silent for a moment, contemplating his answer.
“There’s quite a bit on my mind.” His voice shook slightly as he spoke. Tunner set the umbrella down, placing both his hands on Jevin’s shoulders, and pulling him into a hug. Jevin’s body shook as he tried to hold back his tears.
“I’m here, okay? No matter what, I'll always be here for you.” Tunner said softly. Jevin didn’t try to hold it in anymore, he just started sobbing. He buried his face in Tunner shoulder, his body shaking.
The two of them stood there together in the rain until Jevin’s crying slowed. He raised his head from Tunner’s shoulder, his dark green eyes watery and bloodshot.
“Will you… stay… with me?” Jevin asked shakily. Tunner placed a hand against Jevin’s cheek.
“I would never leave you. Not even if the world ended.”
The end
