I forgot about Haymitch’s songbird and snake flint striker. Am editing the whole fic to include it. Feel free to skip rereading if this detail is not important to you.
Be warned however, that it will change some of the emotional texture of the scenes and the plot as well. I think it will be much better though, and more grounded and textured, with this one detail added in. I will also be taking more care with physical descriptions and tokens etc so there will be quite a few changes. Seriously I recommend you reread the fic when I upload the next chapter.
It has also been multiple months. So you should do that anyway. (Or don’t. It’s your choice.)
Chapter 5 of this fic (chapter 22 of the ‘book’) will be up by Christmas.

I know these details probably don’t matter to you, but as the author of this fic, and also given the concept, I think it’s important to stay as close to canon as possible while following the concept. Because this is quite literally a split timeline at the specific point where this fic begins.
