Chapter Text

It has been a few months since Lisa arrived in Korea, and Jennie is impressed by how quickly she has adapted to her new surroundings. It’s also great that she’s good at speaking Korean, as it has helped her interact with the people there. She has applied for her citizenship in Korea and knows it will take a while, but she’ll wait for it. Plus, she technically meets the requirements needed for Korean citizenship and doesn’t mind staying here for five years since she has always wanted it. “You know, Lisa, the easiest way to get citizenship here is to marry a Korean,” was one of the things Jisoo told them with a teasing grin as they hung out in the apartment that Jennie and Lisa now share.

Hearing that made Jennie and Lisa look at her with a blush on their faces, as they didn’t expect to hear that. “Well, Jisoo is technically right, though. Even if you’re in a relationship for a few months, you can still apply,” Rosé said, agreeing with her girlfriend, who stared at her. “I was just teasing them, Chaeng,” Jisoo said to Rosé, who looked at her. “Well, that wasn’t funny, Soo,” she replied, and the two started bickering. As funny as it is to see them argue, Jennie and Lisa are happy to see their friends in a happy relationship like theirs. “I don’t mind getting married to Jennie,” Lisa admits, making Jennie blush, while Jisoo rolled her eyes a bit. “But I don’t want to marry someone just to easily get citizenship. I want to work hard for it, and plus, I can easily apply for a business visa, where I can stay and work here long-term before I can get citizenship,” she explained to the girls.

Rosé nodded after hearing that. “Yeah, that’s one way to do it while waiting for your citizenship, and that’s actually better since you can start your business,” she said. “I’ll only apply for that visa before I open my business since I’m still saving up money. I’m currently just a dancing assistant to the dance instructor, and the pay is pretty good, but I’ll open my dance studio one day,” she told them. “Don’t worry about that, Lili; we’ll work together to achieve your dream,” Jennie told Lisa with a smile, and Lisa smiled back at her. It was true; the two saved up money and were able to bring the L family to Korea. Since Jennie never had a pet, Lisa then bought one for her, and they happily named their two adorable dogs Kai and Kuma. For them, their family was somewhat complete.

After applying for and obtaining a visa for permanent residency in Korea, Lisa got ready to find a place to open her dance studio, as she had always wanted. When she and Jennie started looking at places, they first stopped at Jennie’s studio, where they were examining the clothing products that the studio was producing. This visit was significant because she and her best friend Chahee had started working on their brand called Nieeh, which was very fun. Jennie was happy that she agreed to this business venture. While Jennie was busy, Lisa decided to look around and noticed a sign on the second floor of the building that said “For Rent.” There, Lisa had an idea and discussed it with Jennie. When Lisa spoke to her about it, Jennie was excited and happy that both of their businesses would be near each other and encouraged Lisa to inquire about it, which she did.

It did not take long for Lisa to get the lease for the room, and with that, she started renovating it to make it look like a dance practice room. Jennie was proud whenever she checked on Lisa, who was overseeing the state of renovations for the room. After a few months, Lisa opened up her dance practice studio, and they invited her friends to celebrate. They also started planning promotions to attract people to her studio. While Jennie interacted with the guests, she saw Lisa sitting on the benches of the dance studio with a content smile. Jennie went over to her and sat next to her, putting her head on her shoulder. “Everything is going to be great,” she said to Lisa, who kissed her head. “Yeah,” she agreed, and they stayed there for a while before mingling with the guests.

And Jennie was right about that, as their business had been doing well these past few years. In between those years, they were able to rent a house of their own. Jennie finally met Lisa’s mom when she visited Korea, and the two thought it was about time to meet her. Of course, Jennie was nervous about meeting the mother of the woman she loves, but it was fine, as Lisa’s mom was a great and sweet person, and they immediately got along. “I’m still mad you didn’t introduce her to me all those years ago,” she said to Lisa, who laughed. “Sorry, Maê, I got busy that time, but hey, at least you get to meet her,” Lisa told her mom, who nodded. “I’m glad you met my daughter during a bad time in your life, and she helped you get up from that situation,” she told Jennie, who smiled at her. “I’m glad I met your daughter as well; she was my sunshine during my dark days,” she replied, and Lisa softly smiled upon hearing that as she made drinks.

Lisa’s mom looked at her with such softness and happiness, knowing her daughter is loved. “You know, I never understood why nobody dated my daughter, but seeing you, I understand why but now I know it's because you were destined for her,” she told Jennie, who smiled after hearing that. “Yeah, it must have been fate for me to hit that low part of my life, because if that hadn’t happened, I would have never gone to Thailand and met your daughter,” she replied as Lisa appeared with the drinks. “Enough with the sappy talk,” she said as she put the tray down. “Let’s talk about what’s been happening in Thailand,” she said to her mom, who happily gave her all the gossip. After that bit of gossip, where Jennie learned a lot from the stories, Lisa’s mom then left the house to go to the hotel where she was staying, and Lisa accompanied her. When they left, Jennie then sat on the patio in their backyard, enjoying the peace.

Jennie didn’t know how long she had been there until she felt someone tap her shoulder, and it was Lisa. “I knew I’d find you here,” Lisa said to Jennie, who gave Lisa space to sit. “Well, you already know this part of the house is my favorite since I feel at peace here sometimes,” Jennie replied. The two then decided to look at the stars, and Jennie listened as Lisa created constellations of her own, which made her laugh as she did the same. “You know, I’m truly glad you found me that day. I wouldn’t know what to do if you hadn’t; you changed my life for the better,” Jennie said as Lisa looked at her. “Same. I’m glad you decided to sleep near my building because meeting you changed my life as well,” she told Jennie, who softly smiled, and they kissed one another. “I know we aren’t married yet, but I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” she then told Lisa. “Me too,” was her reply as they happily continued to watch the stars with smiles on their faces.
