Chapter Text
Craig woke up in Octavio’s bed, Octavio was laying on his chest, he looked adorable. He noticed Octavio’s face, it looked like he was smiling, then Octavio reached over and began hugging him. Craig was very happy that this was possible, there was one worry he had on his mind though. Well many worries, but one in particular was standing out. What were they now? Sure Octavio probably figured out what a boyfriend was, but would he want that? Would it be safe? Craig wasn’t quite sure.
Octavio moved a bit, “what time is it?” he mumbled as he grabbed Craig's arm.
Craig looked over at the clock, “its 10 o’clock”
Octavio sat up a bit, “10 o’clock? P.m. or a.m.?”
“Uh a.m.”
Then Octavio laid back down on his back, “woah, I slept through the night.”
“That ain't normal for you, is it?”
“Nope. Especially till ten.” Octavio turned on his side to look at Craig, Craig couldn’t help but smile. “Stop smiling! Then I’ll start to smile.”
“Then I'll never stop smilin’.” Craig said, as a wider smile came across his face.
“How very rude of you.” Octavio said, smiling, moving closer to kiss him.
Craig hoped every morning could be like this, small chatter as they slowly woke up. Smiles and kisses too. He had girlfriends in the past but they never felt like this. Many of them just wanted to get up and get ready, no talking, and many of them got up way too early for Craig so they could do their make-up and stuff.
Octavio got up, Craig stayed on the bed, but sat up. Octavio put on a hoodie, and that's when Craig got up. He went up to Octavio and reached around him, resting his head on Octavio’s shoulder. “You want breakfast?”
Octavio looked at him and smiled, “sure.” he said, Craig let go and they walked downstairs. Then Octavio walked to the drawer and grabbed a knife, then threw it at the corner of the room.
“What was that for!?” Craig said, Octavio ignored it and just walked to the door.
He said some stuff in Octarian. He looked mad, “go” he said in a deep –kind of sexy– voice. Then he saw someone get up and leave. Octavio walked back in, locked the door, and shut the blinds. “There, now no one will spy on us.”
“Huh?”
“Oh that was Felix, he was ordered by my father to spy on me. But I don't want him to spy on me with, well, um, whatever this is.”
Oh right, this question. “Right I've been meaning to ask you, what do you want to *this* be?”
“Um, I'm unsure. I’m kind of new to, well, all of this.” he said blushing.
“We could be boyfriends.” cod, now that he’s said it out loud it sounds too good to be true.
“Do friends normally do this?”
“What?” Does he do this with his friends? What does that mean?
“Well you said boy-friend. Doesn’t that mean a friend who’s a boy?”
“Ohh, no. That's a translation thing I guess. And from what you’ve told me, you don’t have anything like this in the Octo world right?”
“No.” he said with a smile, walking over to the counter and leaning against it like Craig.
“Well, ‘boyfriend’ and ‘girlfriend’ are people who are in a romantic, and/or sexual relationship, but aren’t married.”
“Oh, so is that the next thing? Marriage?”
“No, boyfriend would mean no marriage, fiancé would mean goin’ to get married, and husband would mean married. Those terms are for guys though, it would be girlfriend and wife for woman, but fiancée stays the same, just spelt differently.”
“Got it, so are we boyfriends then?”
Craig blushed, “boyfriends, that sounds nice”
“I don’t really like it, it implies we’re just friends. But the inkling (english) language is weird.”
“Yeah I guess you're right.” Craig said, Craig was just staring at Octavio, he was looking around the room, but he was beautiful.
Craig broke out of his trance, “so you want breakfast? I think I have some old pancake mix.” Octavio just nodded, and Craig grabbed the mix from the cabernet, and he grabbed boles, a measuring cup, and a pan. “Could you get the milk and two eggs?”
“Okay.” Octavio said as he went to the fridge. He grabbed the carton, and the eggs.
“Alright,” Craig said, he grabbed the measuring cup and measured 2 cups of mix then put them in the bole, “can I have the milk?” Octavio nodded and handed the milk to Craig, then measured out a cup, then poured, “okay, do you wanna do the eggs?”
Octavio just stared blankly, “um okay.” Craig put the bole on the counter, and Octavio just placed the eggs in the bole.
“Um, what are ya doin’?” Craig tried to sound as nice as possible.
“I put the eggs in, was I supposed to measure them?”
“No, you're supposed to crack them.” Craig took out the eggs, he washed off the unmixed batter and handed one back, “do you know how to crack an egg?”
“Uh” Octavio looked at the egg, then he flicked it. It cracked slightly, “ahh! What is that stuff?” He held the egg away from him.
“Um the egg part of the egg.”
“You mean there's stuff inside!?”
“Yes.” Craig just chuckled a bit and took the egg Octavio was holding, he cracked it fully and dumped it in, then he handed the other egg to Octavio, “here you try, just like I did.”
“Um,” Octavio looked kind of grossed out by it.
Craig just sighed, he knew what he was going to do was cliche, but he had to. He went around Octavio, and grabbed his hands to guide him, he tapped it on the bole, then opened it, he saw the yolk drip down, and let go. “There, you did it.”
“I did?”
“Yup!” Craig took the shell(s) and threw it away, then grabbed a spoon, “I hope ya know how to stir?”
“Yes I do.”
They finished making the pancakes with some (a lot) of mess. But they got pancakes nonetheless. Sure Craig's looked more pancake-like then Octavio's, but they were all edible. They sat on the couch to eat, they were good.
They both chatted about whatever really. The only thing that was important to Craig, was that he was spending time with his new boyfriend. He sighed happily and kissed Octavio, “what was that for?” Octavio asked.
“You just looked cute.”
Octavio blushed and kept eating.
