Chapter Text
4~
It was unlike Tsukasa to sleep in—even during the weekends—yet here he was, lying in his bed, covered in a blanket at 9:30 in the morning.
His alarm on his phone had gone off at least 5 times at this point, but he was too lazy to turn it off. Additionally, Tsukasa could’ve sworn he’d gotten a million text notifications.
30 minutes and more alarms and notifications pass, when Tsukasa groggily begins sitting up in his bed. He picks up his phone revealing countless messages from Rui.
Rui: Good morning Tsukasa-kun <3
Rui: I hope you’ve slept well.
(5 minutes later)
Rui: Tsukasa-kun?
Rui: Are you still asleep?
Rui: It’s rather odd for a star such as yourself to sleep in like this.
Rui: are you okay?
Rui: You can let me know if anything is wrong.
Rui: Also, don’t forget, last week we agreed to see a show Miku and the others had come up with, it’s scheduled to be at 12:00pm in the Sekai.
Rui: I hope you’re okay, my dear star.
Tsukasa takes a moment to read through the texts, his heart aching at how caring his director could be.
‘I’m okay, and good morning Rui’
‘I’ll be there.’

As Tsukasa is getting ready, a bright flash comes from his phone. Squinting his eyes, Tsukasa lets out a startled yelp as he stares at his phone on his table side.
Moments later, Miku, alongside triangle-shaped sparkles appear, accompanied by an unusually uncommon worried expression on her face.
“AH! Miku?! What brings you here?”
“Well..!! Rui-kun arrived a little early to the Sekai which was great, but now small candies are raining on rui and it’s hurting his head!!” Miku says, squeezing her eyes shut as she explained the predicament they were in.
“Candies..? Never mind, I’ll be there in a minute! I’ll bring an umbrella!” Tsukasa yelled, running out of his room.
“Great!!” Miku says. before disappearing back to the Sekai.
—————————
Wonderland Sekai. Where so much has happened due to Tsukasa’s little big crush on a certain purple haired alchemist.
Now, he stood there, staring at said alchemist and back to some of the heart-shaped candies on the ground, and umbrella in hand.
The candies however weren’t any ordinary heart shaped candies—they were sweethearts, otherwise known as conversation hearts.
In other words, Tsukasa was now completely screwed. Because on top of the hearts saying things like ‘hug me,’ ‘kiss me,’ and ‘be mine,’ there was one in particular that stood out from the rest.
A heart shaped candy that said ‘I love you Rui’
Rui, who had been looking at the candies saying all of those things in his hands (while still being rained on by them, mind you), gazed up at Tsukasa.
Tsukasa, was done for.
He’d accepted his fate—In fact, he was already thinking of how to transfer out of schools, he’d leave the troupe and-
“Tsukasa-kun… Are you in love with me?” Rui asked, stepping closer.
Well.
That’s bold.
A small sentence. Just a handful of words, yet it had so much meaning and depth to them. Love. A powerful word yet not powerful or meaningful enough to describe every feeling and thing Tsukasa truly felt towards Rui. Passionate, infatuated, yearning for, adoring.
But for lack of a perfect word, yes, he was completely and utterly in love with Rui. Kamishiro Rui.
And now, the man he was smitten with, asked if he loved him. Tsukasa could only stand there wide-eyed, shifting his gaze from Rui’s eyes to the ground. How badly he just wanted to say yes but couldn’t. It burned on his tongue and he had to restrain his lips from mouthing ‘yes’ and the temptation to kiss him right there.
30 seconds pass. Then a minute. And…
“Rather- I should say…Tsukasa-kun. I’m in love with you.” Rui says, with determination in his (beautiful, Tsukasa adds) aureate eyes, despite his voice sounding shy. “Ever since you asked me to rejoin Wonderlands x Showtime, and I feel at this point it’s something you deserve to know.”
Silence.
Sweat began to form and drip down Rui’s face, purely out of fear. He was sure Tsukasa would return his feelings—positive. he wouldn’t have confessed if he wasn’t sure—but the anticipation and silence was still terrifying.
Rui had been taking note on everything that had happened in the Sekai the past week: The butterflies, the hearts, the cheesy flirting, the candies, everything. Rui knew Tsukasa had been in love with someone, but it was Rui’s name being on one of those heart candies that said the most.
Tsukasa stood there, his face as red as it’s ever been, when his eyes begin to swell up with tears. Who would’ve thought this would be his reaction to a confession?
Well, not any confession. Specifically a confession from the guy he’s so madly in love with.
“Rui. My dear director… You have no idea how thrilled I am to hear you say that.” Tsukasa smiled softly, his eyes and entire demeanor relaxing as tears began spilling out his eyes. He reached up, placing a hand on Rui’s face before speaking again.
“I’m in love with you too, Rui. So, very deeply in love with you. If I’m being honest with not only you, but myself, I only realized this not very long ago—but I know I’ve been in love with you for a long time…” He took in a deep breath before shakily asking the single-handedly most important question he believes he’ll ever ask.
“Kamishiro Rui, will you be my boyfriend, lover, partner, and my director in life?”
Before responding, Rui leans forward, bringing Tsukasa’s head closer with his hand on his chin, stealing his first kiss. It was a little awkward—the fact that neither have ever kissed someone before became clearly evident—yet it was impossibly soft, and Tsukasa wouldn’t change it for the world.
The two of them (Tsukasa especially) were on fire, butterflies raging in their stomachs. Their passion for each other hilariously contrasted how gentle and attentive their kiss was.
They couldn’t care less about anything else around them. All they could see, hear, feel, and think of was each other.
Pulling away what felt like too soon. Streams of tears could now be seen on Rui as he replied,
“Of course, my dear star. I’m completely honored to have been given the opportunity to be your one true love,” he grinned, picking up one of Tsukasa’s hand and placing a kiss on top of it.
With a blush that never left his face, Tsukasa smiled, and he couldn’t stop smiling, despite the tears still running down his face.
After attempts at running away from his feelings, and cursing the Sekai for making his week almost a living hell, he now appreciated more than ever, being exceptionally content with how everything turned out.
Starting into each others eyes, the two of them lean into another kiss,
Now, Tsukasa didn’t need to run away anymore, because he has the person he loves most by his side.
