Chapter Text
“WHAT?” Jimin’s eyes grew wide open, taking in the words Taehyung had just said as they sat on his living room couch.
“Yeah, you heard me right. .I got you a blind date.” Taehyung shrugged off Jimin’s reaction and continued to stuff a handful of popcorn into his mouth. His eyes were still on the movie in front of them while Jimin’s were glued to his friend's face.
“You can't just do that without telling me!”
“I can when I know that you would of given me a speech about not wanting anyone right now because they aren’t Min Yoongi,”
Jimin became quiet as he looked down at his hands. Taehyung was right. He really didn't want to go out on a date with some random stranger, especially if they weren’t Yoongi. He bit his bottom lip to stop his pout.
“Jimin ...It's just one date for now okay? I want you to give it a chance….It hurts me to see one of my closest friends suffer and get rejected on the daily,” Taehyung turns to look at the pouting puppy, once Holly had jumped up to his lap. He extended his hand to offer it to Jimin who gladed took it into his. “I’m sorry if you're mad at me Chim….” Jimin let out a sigh and shook his head.
“I’m not mad TaeTae,” He looked up at the ceiling with a sad smile on his face, “I'm just afraid that you might be right.”
Before Taehyung could answer, the jingle of keys on the door was heard as a tired Yoongi stepped into the apartment. A soft grunt left his lips as he took off his shoes, leaving them by the door. He walked down the short hallway and into the living room. His lips turned to a smile at the two boys lazing on the couch, “Hey Jiminie, hey Tae!” He opened up his arms and hugged Jimin who was forced to go to the end of the couch to make space for the cuddly boy. Yoongi was always close with Jimin so despite Jimin’s fast beating heart, these cuddles gave both of them joy and comfort.
They had each other and that's all they needed. Yoongi’s head on Jimin’s shoulder, limbs tangled up in a side hug that was repositioned every time Yoongi shifted. Jimin’s fingers running through the black locks that laid on display for him under the soft lights of the TV. This comfort was all they needed right now. Forever was all they needed. But how could Jimin be so sure about that?

Jimin felt as if his heart was pounding right out of his chest. His yellow sweater was a little too big on him but it contrasted well with his tight black jeans that he adored so much. Although he wasn't in the mood to give it his all, he wanted to look good and give a good impression.
Being helplessly in love, Jimin saw no fruitful future with a blind date that might not even show up. He also knew that every moment of said date, he was going to compare the guy to Yoongi without even trying.
Even now Jimin couldn't stop thinking about how much he would enjoy going out to eat junk food with his hyung instead of going on a date. This isn't fair. Not to his date, not to him, and not to the universe. But he had promised Tae.
Giving himself one more look in the mirror, Jimin left his room and walked toward the door. A messy bed head popped out of the same hallway Jimin had just walked down from. Yoongi’s room right across from his has been a blessing and a curse these past years.
“Where are you going Jiminie?” Yoongi rubbed his eyes and walked out in his shorts and big sleep shirt. Jimin was pretty sure he'd worn it himself at one point, but Yoongi looked so much more pretty in it.
“Um…. on a date,” Jimin nervously shifted from one foot to the other once he turned to his roommate, “Taehyung set me up a blind date,”
Yoongi blinked for a few moments, his face was hard as he now opened his eyes fully in surprise before squinting as he walked closer to jimin.
“What? but… I wanted to go eat today...and-and what about Jiminie’s famous breakfast pancakes?” Yoongi pointed at the kitchen, his eyes were slightly glossy, as if giving his best puppy eyes would stop Jimin from going. Or was Jimin imagining that?
He shook his head and let out an airy laugh, “Hyung you can make pancakes that are even better than mine”
“I just… don't want you to leave me alone-”
“You do it all the time.” Jimin's eyes widened because he really just said that out loud. He had cut Yoongi off and blurted out a sarcastic remark.
“You know I’m busy and yet I try my hardest to make time for my friends”
“But it doesn't feel good, hyung…” Friends. Jimin's eyes were tearing up slowly but surely
“I really didn't-”
“I’ll see you after lunch hyung” Jimin turned around to unlock the front door but before he could step foot out Yoongi spoke up.
“Yellow looks good on you Jimin-ah.”
Jimin walked out and let the door slam behind him as he walked away from the apartment door.
‘He can lock it himself,’
