”Ok Steve, what about… Rosetta fro-“
Steve cut her off with a glance
“Nat I thought we spoke about this, I don’t need you to find me a date. As much as I appreciate the effort your putting in I really really don’t want you to.”
Nat rolled her eyes and walked to the jet on the way back from a mission.
“Please god, please let me find you someone that isn’t bucky. As much as I love him, you need a girlfriend god damn it!” Nats voice got louder as the sentence went only
Steve rolled his eyes
“Nat that’s enough I don’t want a date I’ve been telling you for years so just let me live. And I’m actually happy just with bucky!” Steve nearly shouted he was starting to get annoyed with nats constant match making he didn’t need it for god sake! He’s been taken since 1935 and married 83 years! He couldn’t do this today he was tired and missed bucky.
“Steve she is right though your way to lonely you need to finally get some action!” Tony smirked and Steve rolled his eyes and ignored him completely. The plane ride was quiet after that them all doing their own separate things:
Nat and Bruce playing sudoku, Tony playing some mobile game, Steve lost in thought, Clint napping and Thor polishing mjollnir.
Tony looked up at Nat, he couldn’t get over the fact Steve was stiff refusing to take up any of the dates she had set him on, Natasha looked up and tony waved her over. Nat sat next to him and that’s when Tony said:
“We need a plan to get Steve a date hes lonely and he can’t see it for himself so are you in?” Tony asked already knowing her answer, Nat smirked
“Where do we start?”
Steve finally managed to get away from the group and walk towards his apartment. Not saying he didn’t love them like they were family because that’s what they were but he’s glad he left the tower when he did. Although his and buckys flat was round the corner, they still had the privacy they wanted so they didn’t need to worry about Tony or Nat, Steve felt himself let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding as he turned the key in the lock.
“Hey buck I’m home!”
His voice was met with silence
“Bucky?”
Again silence he wandered around the house and still didn’t find him, he started to panic a little bit but decided to call him. His phone rang till the very last buzz and bucky didn’t pick up but sent him a text instead
‘Sorry stevie I cant answer right now I’ll tell you why when I get home! But I’ll only be 15 minutes ok?’
Steve smiled at the message but was also a little confused, bucky hated going out without him so why would he go out and sound so happy about it? He would just have to wait and see. He shot back a quick text and turned on a documentary of the howling commandos he and buck had watched hundred of times smiling and their faces came on the screen,
“Hey Stevie I’m back!”
Jesus had it already been 15 minutes?
Bucky walked into the living room and sat next to Steve kissing him lightly and starting to take his shoes off,
“So Steve I know we’re only going to a courthouse but I thought why not go all out on our own proper wedding rings? So I got us these” he handed Steve a box with two rings in it both in the same bright metallic gold with the words till the end of the line inscribed on the the inside
“Bucky.. these are beautiful, thank you,”
Bucky smiled and planted a kiss on Steve’s face
“Well anyway how was your mission?”
Steve’s smile faltered remembering how Natasha had been nagging him
“The actual mission? Amazing! The plane ride back? Not so much. I swear Nat needs to learn when to take no for an answer with my dating life! And now Tony’s joined in like they think I can’t handle myself.”
Bucky laughed lightly and lead Steve’s head into his lap playing with his hair
“It’s ok they’ll be in for a major shock when they find out then won’t they, but in the mean time we could mess with them a little more than we have been?”
Steve grinned already thinking of ideas
“Oh-oh what if we act all lovey dovey and
Flirt with each other around them! Or we could act like we’re pinning for each other still and make them try to get us together!!” Steves face lit up as he spoke and bucky agreed lightly with a hum
“I still can’t believe they haven’t noticed yet though, as a spy and genius..”
